  1. The Force is with you, young Jerac.
  2. Scorm's tail is dark brown, legozebra.
  3. Darth Revan? Ugh! I was soooooo hoping we'd get nameless random Jawa #3 from the left, my favorite Star Wars character since childhood! Or Aunt Beirut, at least! With a cup o' blue milk! Instead we get a fricking awesome real Sith lord? Soooooooo disappointing!! What is LEGO thinking?! Do they care about us at all!?! . . . Yes, that was sarcasm. Boo-hoo!
  4. Hello, I seem to hv a probem he. Tis is what I loos lik whe typing diecly into th bx - lot f lettes go mising. Quote desn'work eithr anymore, neiter doscopy&paste. What's going on?! :(
  5. I'm pretty sure these forums are not being monitored for feedback by TLG the way some poster here obviously hope they are. And whining incoherently ("I totally hate this and that ...!") about what might even be, for all you know, just a blurry image of a concept model is definitely not going to help your case.
  6. I can't believe how you all keep on harping on how awful you think the little flyer is. You have to understand that the little copter is just a bonus, a tiny nothing in addition to the pretty cool BIKE which is the MAIN ACT OF THE SET, an extra effort on the designer's (not me) part to put a little more action in the box than just another lame-o weapon would provide. And this with what little money (hint: next to none) was left near the end of the design process. I feel his efforts are a bit underappreciated. Ah well. You little ingrates just wait 'till next year to see what I stuffed into my latest Chima box to push the last bits of excess air out ... Muahaha!
  7. You are welcome. I felt somebody should let our CHIMA fans know that rumors of a cancellation are croc poo. Which automatically implies, with production cycles as they are, that 2015 CHIMA is being worked on right now. No news there, really. However, you have to understand that I'm not posting as a spokesperson for LEGO in any capacity whatsoever (we got other guys for that job), just as a designer who is working on CHIMA and who got to be very mindful about what to tell you. No LEGO employee is allowed to discuss upcoming product until it is officially revealed, or to comment on leaked pictures, or drop hints. That said, and since CHIMA was launched with a 3 year life span in mind (again, no news there), I believe I'm not leaning out of the window too far by confirming that, as far as I know, we are ready and happy to go the whole distance as long as CHIMA keeps selling the way it does. Plus maybe a lap of honor if the circumstances are right, but that's just little more than speculation on my part. In the end it's a business decision. While I indeed have a magic glowing CHI ball on my desk, I cannot see into the future either. So I'd suggest we all just keep doing what we're doing (you buying/me designing), and everything will be awesome ... ;)
  8. And they look even better than they sound ;) No worries, currently no one is even considering ending CHIMA prematurely, on the contrary. With 1st half 2015 set design almost finished the real question is: will there be a year 4 (and 5..?) of CHIMA? That depends on many factors, of course: will CHIMA keep selling? Will the release of the next Star Wars movie be further delayed, creating a hole in LEGO's portfolio for 2015/16 (and thus possibly room for more CHIMA)? Or will LEGO risk launching another Big Bang play theme to succeed CHIMA, a new product line that might as well turn out to be a flop, despite all media hype and market research? If CHIMA has one problem, then it is that it's expected to perform way, way beyond the wildest expectations. Just spectacularly good won't do.
  9. Sales are really low, now? I disagree, and other than you I have seen actual numbers, as well as empty shelves at Christmas. You know, I laughed through all 36 minutes of your ridiculous, if entertaining Chima rant ("Chima models are TOO BIG!" lol), but don't push it. Don't make up or support negative rumors only because no one takes you seriously enough anymore to reply to your usual nonsense. Thanks.
  10. Another new element is the 5-unit-long technic axle with stop (in dark tan), sitting between the claws of the scorpion. Previously this element was only available in 4- and 8-long versions.
  11. It doesn't happen every day that I spend long minutes checking out every detail on a model, but this really is an outstanding piece of work!
  12. Aww, don't get me started on that subject ... one thing's for sure, scorpion dudes won't drive any compact cars. Convertibles, maybe. The tail in the picture is just a mock-up though, final version will vary.
  13. Unfortunately LEGO model designers' comfort and convenience aren't that high up on the list of priorities ...
  14. Neither yellow nor tan or orange really worked out as main color on the lion vehicle prototypes the way we imagined. So it was decided to go with LEGO color 191 "Flame Yellowish Orange", with dark tan (138 "Sand Yellow") as secondary color (plus brown on the mane). The goal was to create a convincing animalistic color scheme for the lion faction that also looks new and fresh for a LEGO play theme and works on vehicles. Not an easy task when you really start thinking about it. Once you put the lion vehicles together yourself you will probably agree that going for color 191 was a spot-on decision!
  15. No worries, there will be a dozen other reasons.
  16. Uh ... that's not at all what Jim Foulds said! The wording of your question is a bit off. Jim's reply only indicates that Legends of Chima sets have been in development for almost 2 years by now, to his knowledge.
  17. Oh bummer, even after googling this gibberish back into German it still doesn't make any sense ...
  18. The mystery orb's been found already! That was easy! And look! Snow! And ice! Lots of! You guys were right all along
  19. Keep in in mind most of the uploaders are propably kids who don't have any bad intentions, they just don't know better. I have no doubt they will, in time, develop the same healthy respect for other people's intellectual property, same as all of us adults. Now, what's the URL of that movie warez-site again ..? Just kidding. Yes, protecting one's own creations on the net where the attitude seems to be that everything is free and up for grabs is an ongoing battle. One of the kiddos posted a rather dark rendering of my 1:1600 Venator without giving credit, so I commented on that (not asking for it to be removed though). No need to shoot with guns at sparrows. Or little kids, for that matter
  20. Information, you say? Hmmm ... why a sledload of yeti poo I smell?
  21. You are quite correct, Blacktron II was black and white, and the bigger sets apparently tried to compensate for this rotten "color" combination with extra-big transparent yellow pieces. My favorite set of the whole range, the "Allied Avenger" (6887) would look SO much better in different colors. I once saw a copy someone made in classic space colors, that's more like it! Of course you can build however you prefer, but I'd like to point out that even Blacktron II had an accent "color", even if it's only white. Just black/dark gray without anything else is typically not a color combination used in LEGO sets, and certainly not in Blacktron. So what is the point in calling a model neo-Blacktron if neither the design (as cool as it is on its own) nor the color scheme would remind of a 20 years old product line?
  22. Funny, i was just watching Episode I and thinking about a Theed set with some italian-ish architecture. Very nicely done!
  23. I generally like most of these design, but I feel they should be closer to the original idea of Blacktron if you want to pin a "neo" label on them. There's too much black, and no solid yellow at all - dark gray just isn't a good substitute for a missing accent color. The tanks in particular look more like military vehicles than something from a fantasy SF-theme. Try to throw in a few yellow pieces here and there and you'll be surprised how much of a difference it can make!
