  1. Late to the party on the news, and now realise that party is the wrong word. Wake, maybe. Is it too late to reconsider the direction of this thread @Clone OPatra? It's already proven difficult for some to maintain their composure, and we all need to admit that the 'cave and Arkham need to be stellar for this particular train to stay on track. Wibble.
  2. I was riffing on the huge gap in the timeline between dinosaurs and Romans. And really, be adults about things? Next you'll be making a plea for sanity. Now in fairness some people are, by no fault of their own, sane. Some of my best friends are sane. I'm beginning to think that you don't know this thread at all.
  3. Is there a more precise cut-off? Can we start harping on about how the Sumerians trounced the Elamites, or is it more lamenting the historical inaccuracies of the Ice Age films?
  4. Whether or not the upcoming Superman film yields sets or not, I would like to think that it will kickstart interest in this theme and break the current cycle.
  5. Wouldn't it have been more productive to lead with that, rather than running in and kicking someone in the dick? Your method seems destined for failure.
  6. Crazy people don't know they're crazy.
  7. But it isn't destroyed, it not only lives on but it officially has that as a title. As much as it grinds me seeing that ridiculous word, I am pleased that the actions of a few have changed the system. Just don't mention politics past or present and we live on in perpetuity.
  8. You could be silent for a long time there, bub. There's a good reason why this thread runs to 209 pages and it isn't because of all the serious talk about DC sets. The stupid language war, Luigi, Blacktron Vs Seaton Vs M-tron, the Mayor, Crash Test Dummy, the SW invasion, the Turtle saga, British icons Vs US icons, the Snyderverse being constantly dunked in a Lazarus pit - none of it serious or OT. We are privileged in here to be let loose without the appropriate meds.
  9. Darn it. It was Miguel Ferrer in Hot Shots! Part Deux with his, "War. It's fantastic!" line. It was funny in the moment/you had to be there etc. etc.

  11. I had to watch it as part of my A level History. The only significantly exciting part of that film was guessing where Cromwell's warts would be next, and sometimes how many there would be. It disappointingly doesn't feature my ancestor General Monck, despite fighting for both the Royalists and the Parliamentarians. One star.
  12. Also a case study in how to bring strategies in line with technological progress, how not to get ahead of ourselves when it comes to brainstorming war machines, and how to make better use of colour, pattern and material when designing uniform. Is the Great War and it's aftermath too recent of a hot potato?
  13. You'll need the assistance of Brother Maynard on how to count to three correctly. Surely you're branching into Blackadder territory with that one. All this Python talk and the earlier idea of invading the SW forum had me thinking of the traditional Welsh martial art of Llap Gogh. Or we get them to come at us with a banana.
  14. *sees that we've broken the 200 barrier. Looks and sees how. Wonders how long that hospital appointment was.
  15. I mean there's a good reason why Donald and Daffy speak the way they do and both have anger issues.
  16. I don't want to see any Morbmobiles or Venomised Cybermen rigging this race. Just a regular Cyberman, a Lego Cyberman, and a regular minifigure that represents a merged human and a Lego figure. A Crash Test Dummy, for example. All adjusted for scale of course.
  17. You haven't read the entirety of the main DC 2024 thread, I see. Consider it a rite of passage, after that all the secrets will be revealed.
  18. In a running race between a Cyberman a mini figure I'm putting my money on the Cyberman. The real question is how fast does a Lego Cyberman run?
  19. Symbiosis implies coexistence. The host has no say in what control the Lego parasite has. It's a process more akin to Cybermen, only with less agility.
  20. On the contrary, Lego is well on the way to becoming parasitic, the end goal being Lego-human hybrids and subsequently the cast of the recently announced live action films.
  21. Depends what device you are using. I use phones and either quote the whole comment and edit it down, or hold and select part of the comment you want.
  22. My wife bought me that set for our first Valentine's together, it's how you know you've got a keeper. I saw one recently sell at auction for £250, with commission someone paid over £300 for it. I had a few Forest men and one or two Wolfpack men, and quite a few knights. They all took the King's shilling and moved over to the Pirates theme with a bit of purist modding.
  23. After Pirates my secondary theme as a kid was M:Tron. Today I stand by that allegiance. They had magnets damnit! If they came back in force I would be seriously tempted. What do we want? Magnets in Lego sets again! When do we want it? Just as soon as the DC line has a pulse again!
  24. @Mandalorianknightlove it. I appreciate the detail and acknowledge that there actually are people who would have me in a cell if it meant less DC chatter (my wife springs to mind). Whilst in my cell I shall be lamenting and/or gloating about the only Lego Tower of Fate in existence. @ILoveSeatronit's all or nothing I'm afraid. The only way to get a clear picture of the madness is to go back to page one and immerse yourself until you have caught up to the present day. Granted by then we will have moved on further down the road into whatever the Christmas story brings us.
