Thanks! I'm glad you like the corner. Thank you! I agree with you, red coats definetly wouldn't look out of place but I think it gets a pass since this is historica Thanks Grover! You are right about the archway to the bakery, they will knock their head

This has such a unique look! The cottage has so many nice curves and the roof is seamless. The little pond is a nice touch and the wheelbarrow is genius!

After a long and dangerous journey through deep and deceptive forest of the Mystic Isles, the brave explorer has finally found what he came looking for, a gem from an ancient elvish king. Lots more pictures in the Flickr album if you're interested. This build is for the Summer Joust 2018 collaboration category. The team consists of @Henjin_Quilones, @TitusV, @The Maestro and me. Here is Henjins build, the rest will follow in a not so distant future. It was a great pleasure to collab with these guys once again, lots of fun.

Thanks! I did look at some photos of olive trees because they have quite a distinct look to them. Thank you! Thanks! I definitely think you should, it’s a fun colour to work with but it’s also quite restricting in that it doesn’t really work with a lot of colours. Normal green clashed quite a bit, hence why I only used bright green vegetation. Thanks Garmadon! Thanks! I agree with you on the door, I tried dark blue but it wasn’t bright enough. Thank you! There wasn’t much thought behind the shack to be honest I saw a use for my recently acquired white 1x1 round tiles and that’s pretty much it. I agree with you though, LGB tiles would probably be better. Thanks Titus! You’re going to have to wait quite a while sadly because my next build is going to be for Challenge I. Thank you and welcome to GoH!

Don’t know how I missed this thread but this is very exciting! I’ll edit this post once I’ve come up with an array of expendable family members

Very nice moc! Cool to see allthses characters as fleshies! -
Just outside of Ostia, the farmers are preparing the harvest by laying down cloth on the grond to then shake the tree and collect the olives on the cloth. Please let me know what you think of it! I think I should have added another tree behind the shack but other than that i like the outcome.

Book III - Varlyrio: Guild sign-up and Discussion
ZlatanXVIGustaf replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
Easy choice, Varlyrio is way better. Trust me, I’ve been there Welcome to GoH regardless of which guild you choose. -
Thank you! Yep, sand blue, I've always wanted to use it. The wall angles were quite tricky to achieve but I like the outcome aswell. Hmm, I guess I could have done that. I did the groupings mostly because of a lack of small sand bule and dark tan plates and I also wanted to avoid making a jumbled mess, there is a very fine line between a nice mix and a mess. I was going for a "fort" look. Thanks! Thank you very much! Hehe, thanks! The light and dark gray are supposed to be different types of stone, one better for the battlements and the other being better for the walls.

Thanks! The fact that it looks like Jonas's style is enough of a compliment Thank you, I'm glad it inspires you and I'm looking forward to seeing some builds from you! Thanks! Thanks! Im glad the stonework corner as it was quite dificult to connect the 1x1 tiles in that way. Thank you very much! I'm very much looking forward to seeing your first build! Thanks! Thanks! And welcome to GoH! Wow that's a lot of compliments! Thank you! Thanks! Now that you've said it, that basement window really does a lot, it would have looked terrible with just dark grey tiles there. Me and TM are going collaborate on building Ostia, hopefully to a city. Thanks! The balcony is one of my favourite parts aswell. Thanks! And yes, they will keep coming!

Book III - Varlyrio: Guild sign-up and Discussion
ZlatanXVIGustaf replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
Here's my first varlyrio moc: I assume task 4 is relevant for Varlyrio too however no one has touched that thread in years (at least no new posts). Is it still the way to get a settlement recognized on the map? -
This was meant to be an entry for the Summer Joust but I wasn't able photograh and edit it in time. I don't really have a lot to say about it but please let me know what you think about it!

Wohoo, my first Varlyrio moc! I am completely foreign to this style but I really enjoyed it! Ostia, an east coast city that is an important part of the Varlyrian trading. Streets are busy as usual, things are getting dilivered and the bakers apprentice is sent out to pick up a new delivery of grains. Luca di Carlo on his morning stroll. (Ostian city guard in the background. I pretty much ripped of Ecc's design.) This is heavily inspired by Jonas Kramm's Venice 1486. The blue building is quite mediocre in my eyes, it's just not a lot happening however I am satisfied with how the other buildings came out. Please let me know what you think, I'd love some critisism!

How do I title a build for any of the guild challenges? You're welcome anytime! -
Nice to finally see a moc from you! The different angle on the house is a nice touch though perhaps an unnecessary one on this smaller size build. The roof is very interesting, is it stable? Great look overall, I’m looking forward to seeing another build of yours!
-
Very brave colour choices here! The light lavender(?) is perhaps a bit too much but other than that I like it. I like that you didn’t stick to the square base with the rock.
-
Great build! The height of is perfect (though perhaps slightly differing heights would have been even better) and the tree adds just enough greenery to the scene. I’m amazed at the amount of builds that you’ve been posting recently. Do you really build that fast or do you have a backlog?

A Visit to Kaliphlin - The Lion's Eye Chapter 1 - Freebuild

Cool build! I like the atmosphere, all the different kinds of people and animals all over the place. I’m not a big fan of the flatness, some dunes would do the trick though.- 24 replies

I seem to have missed some replies, apologies! Thanks! It’s nice hearing that from guild legend. Thank you! I wanted to make the house seem small compared to the build in its entirety if that makes sense. Thanks! The hill is supposed to be “cut out” but I understand it’s confusing with the olive green details. It would have looked extremely boring without it so that’s my reasoning behind it. Thanks! I like that my presentation has visible improved. Is it the curve in the back of the rock that is impressive? It’s an area that received very little attention relative to the size of it. Thank you very much!

This is Luca di Carlo, a merchant residing in the city of Ostia. Luca is the head of family in a family that has a long history of trading. -
Fantastic build! You really nailed the DC look. The shape of the tower is very nice, especially the tower. All the different tools you made are very neat aswell. As I said on Flickr though, the holes in the tower could use some covering behind.

Thanks Henjin! The bear sigil is for my sigfig. I will miss Avalonia but it’s very intriguing with a new and almost unbuilt guild. @The Maestro I suspected that you’d do the same, I’m looking forward to it too!

So I’ve pretty much decided on joining Varlyrio for book III (sorry Avalonia). I haven’t been able to find any official colours although dark red seems to be a common theme. Is that it or do I have to wait for the guild thread for more information? Is a bear sigil too mitgardian to be used in Varlyrio?
