Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
THELEGOBATMAN replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Because Disney is taking the first actual MCU risk since... well, 2008. This film may be good, it may be bad, but it is not generic. It's different, and they let Chloe fully release her own vision. It has a fantastic cast, intriguing plot, and looks stunning visually. Not even Lizard? This is the one I'm most excited for (visually). Man, I don't even know where to start because your reply is so wrong in so many places. First of all, LEGO doesn't need to make more Eternals sets as there's literally nothing more to do. They made all 10 Eternals, enough Deviants including the main one, a Celestial, and their vehicle. Literally nothing more to make. Secondly, what makes you think LEGO goes back to only 'great' movies? They rarely go back to older movies at all (unless it's Star Wars). And when they do go back, they use popular movies, not great. Great is relative. 1989 Batman and TDK are bad examples. DC didn't have a movie LEGO could make sets on literally since Spring 2019, this theme is starving and they had to use older Batman movies to at least make some sets. For example next year they won't have to use older movies since there are 5 DC movies coming out. Your 'question' also doesn't make any sense. Hulk wasn't a 'cinematic failure'. It has over 67% on RT, and sure, it was't a box office success, but neither was it a failure. The Infinity Saga sets used literally just 3 out of 23 movies, so it's not like the least popular MCU movie would be their focus anytime soon (if they even consider continuing this subtheme). Not to mention that Disney doesn't have right to the 2008 Hulk movie, meaning they probably could't make toys based on it even if they wanted to. -

Joker is a comicbook movie that has 68% on RT, yet it won 2 Oscars. Just because the reviews are mixed doesn't mean it's a bad movie - it mean this was the 1st MCU movie since 2008 that actually took a risk, and gave the director nearly unlimited creative freedom (at least compared to the others). And what do you even mean by 'LEGO would not make more sets about the movie?' They've already made 4 of them. They do. It's the most popular rating website among movie-goers. What do the trailers looking great have to do with anything? If you think they looked great, then go see the movie for yourself and form your own opinion. A lot of people actually didn't like the trailers, or thought they were average. -

But we know. Why do we know? Because it was revealed to a large number of people, some of whom couldn't keep that secret. That means that perhaps they also revealed it to toy companies a while ago. Here, found it: -

Yeah, perhaps. But you never know. They can't be as incompetent as this. After all we've had tens of plot leaks, regular leaks, leaked trailers and images, and even actors saying stuff they weren't supposed to. And it's still an MCU movie. Apparently it's not an actual confirmation, as under that text they don't confirm they are in the movie, but the fact that they are rumoured to appear. Well, I'll guess we'll see tomorrow when the magazine is released. We know they are in the movie, but it would be weird to confirm them through a magazine. -

THELEGOBATMAN replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Not my point. The point is, a lot of people knew about it, which means Sony hasn't kept it as secretive as, for example, Endgame. That may lead to the conclusion that if they weren't as secretive, toy companies got information and concept arts a while ago, with all the villains, and not just the most important ones. Of course on the other hand, it could be just that Sony wanted to be as secretive as Disney with Endgame, but they failed terribly. -

Yes, we have. Obviously not officially, but the first mention of those villains (in a leaked plot) tracks back to May. And after that we got multiple leaks like that from multiple sources - that means that people know they're coming, which leads me to believe that Sony wasn't hesitant to reveal them to toy companies (which get them ad much money as the movie itself). -

This is a special case honestly. Seeing as we've known the villains for months, that must mean that Sony did reveal all those villains to toy companies, including LEGO. They had time to prepare, and a Multiversal Spider-Man movie with 3 Spider-Men and 5 villains, each from a previous movie, is an instant money-maker. -

It's just 5 villains, one of whom can be a build. If the rumours about 2 more sets are true, it's such an easy thing for LEGO to make: A 30β¬ set with Tom, Andrew and Electro with a buildable Sandman, and a 50β¬ set with Tom, Tobey, Green Goblin, Doc Ock and Lizard. -

If they don't give us Lizard I will got to LEGO HQ and use violence. This is a perfect opportunity to get him as a minifig which we've wanted since the beginning of this theme. -

No. But all of them would be 2HY sets, and it's too early for those leaks. -

Not sure how many people would consider this a spoiler, as it's not about something that will be in NWH, but I'll spoiler tag it nevertheless: -

Sure, but the distribution also has to make sense in context of the movie. For example we've seen not one, but two Electro / Sandman scenes, so it'd make sense to do this. Also, we don't know how big the sets are, so it's kinda hard to say. Sure, but Civil War was basically an Avengers movie with 13 different superheroes LEGO could use. No Way Home has just 3 Spider-Men, and 2 of them have smaller roles compared to Tom. TLBM is such a bad example tho. This not only was a LEGO-movie theme, but the 1st wave had like over 10 sets. You don't need a Batman minifigure in every single one of those sets. -

That literally looks like they took a random screenshot from the new trailer. It's not bad, it's just... of all the frames from the movie, they use this one to promote the movie? Where everything is in motion? Lmao. -

They wouldn't give us sets without Tom. It's his movie, and he's the main character, so you have to add one minifig to each set. I know I've said it a thousand times, but provided that we have 2 sets, I think it will look like this: Tom, Andrew and Electro with brickbuilt Sandman (~30β¬); Tom, Tobey, Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Lizard and the 6th member in a Statue of Liberty (~60β¬). I also think that with 3 Spider-Men and 6 villains (provided that we get 2 more sets, like Fuclrum says), they wouldn't waste minifig slots on non-superhero characters. They already have a lot to unpack here. -
LEGO Star Wars 2022 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
THELEGOBATMAN replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Because what's the point of a brick-based construction toy if we got huge moulds for every creature? I do think that characters are an exception, like big figs or even TLBM Killer Croc. But when it comes to regular creatures, I like them brickbuilt. Saying that, I really hate that after all those years, hinge pieces and small ball joints are still grey. They look awful on creatures, like the Hungarian Horntail. -

You realise that leaks happen for every comicbook movie, right? Sometimes it's the whole plot, and sometimes it's just tidbits or plot points. You just have to know where to look and who to trust. Lol? I don't act like an insider. I have very clearly stated that I've found various reliable sources with informations about this movie. Also, you don't have to know the whole plot to know that a huge LEGO Spider-Man Drone won't appear in the movie. If we get Sandman at all. I hope they don't give us just 3 more prominent villains, that us if they give us sets at all. I have a feeling that they might give us a brickbuilt one tho. We've already had 4 minifigures. Raimi's Sandman is the most comic accurate live-action Spider-Man villain, so older minifigures could work for him. Seeing as this movie focuses on characters and not vehicles or locations, brickbuilt Sandman would give them a build for Oneqq set, and one minfigure less to make. -

Exactly. The most lucrative release windows are always Holidays - Summer (May-August) and Winter (November-December). They wouldn't change it to March or whatever. They have Christmas, and it's not like they would make more 2 or 3 months later. They moved them because they don't want to rush those movies. If creators are complaining that those release windows are too close and they want more time to polish their movie, then that's what Disney's doing. For example GoTG Vol. 3 did not get pushed back, and Gunn commented on it himself, saying that 'Nope. #GotGVol3 is neither pulled nor delayed, still scheduled for May 5, 2023. We are scripted & storyboarded, crewed & casted, & READY TO GO in just a little bit here. Weβre going to build you guys something beautiful. π¦ππͺπ«' He's happy with the release window, so it stays. Simple as that. Not to mention No Time To Die, which was surprisingly even more successful. It's a huge hit. Same goes for Halloween Kills, and Eternals has the biggest ticket-sales of any 2021 movie, estimate to make over 100M. Cinemas are getting stronger, and a Christmas Spider-Man movie with Tom, Andrew and Tobey might revive them for good now. -

It actually is. The last trailer didn't even release 2 months ago, it's still very fresh. They make only 2 trailers for movies, and we know there is only one more trailer planned. They wouldn't release it this soon if they were to delay the movie. -
Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
THELEGOBATMAN replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Nah, that's not gonna happen. They wouldn't release a 2nd trailer in the first place if they wanted to delay the movie. Also, a delay would do it no good. The hype is huge, and delaying it would make people frustrated and irritated. Doctor Strange set will probably stay for January, it's a single non-spoiler set so I don't see the point of delaying it. Since it's like 2 months until its release it seems kinda too late to delay it. Thor sets will probably be delayed until the OG date for July MCU sets, May 1st (WF sets were slated for May 1st and the movie was releasing on the same day as L&T), after all March-July is a big gap. But on the other hand I could see them releasing in March. Wakanda Forever sets will definitely be delayed. May-November is a half-year gap. They'll probably release between August and October. Also, what makes you 'fairly sure' that Wakanda Forever will be delayed to 2023?
