This is an easy skip for me, because I have the previous train. It's sad I won't have something new to expand my village, but my wallet is happy. I do think remakes are worth doing for thoses who missed out, but maybe having a new thing next to it on the shelves to not dissapoint the OG collectors?. I missed out on some of the earlier sets, so I'd love a bakery remake for example. That said this is such a different train set to how the Toy Shop remake was 😂.

Initial thoughts were it's a bit small, needs 1 more floor, but actually it'll tie in size wise nicely to the X - Mansion and really make the Bugle, Avengers Tower and hopefully Daily Planet really pop in size. Minifigures are all safe picks, would've loved to see Sofia Falcone after how awesome she was in Penguin.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Undi3sss replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Love the Botanical Gardens set, I don’t use the connection pins so it’ll be easy to integrate, but I’ll prioritise the X-Mansion to go with my other Marvel Modulars first. With how crazy expensive Lego is getting; I might just get the Friends Botanical Gardens and make my own modular for cheaper. Other than the Dolls I think the set is better, the cherry blossom and pond are really nice. -

Seeing them all together I think the X Mansion definitely looks way too small next to the other 3 modulars (especially the Sanctum). I think they should've ditched the front footpath that lines them up and just had the grass to allow for a bit more house space. Just off the top of my head theres a few future modulars they could do with grass over pavement to tie them in as an area outside of the city, like Tony's Malibu House, Avengers Compound and Castle Doom. -

I know there’s a huge list of X-Men characters people want that haven’t already been made, that would fit into the mansion set, but for me Beast feels like the weirdest exclusion here. We have all the labs inside but the scientist isn’t there?. -

I like the idea of a B&B, though to me they feel like a country thing and not a Main Street in a city. The Alpine Lodge in Winter Village was amazing so I have high expectations. We did just get a Hotel recently, and that had a coffee cart, it would seem cafes are to Modulars what pizza/ice cream stores are to City. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I’ve wanted modular houses for a long time; always wished they released the bookshop house separately with new colours and house numbers to make a nice street line of houses. I do feel like it could be lacking if there isn’t a business on one of the floors, maybe one of the kids in the house can open a lemonade stand! Haha. -
I like the fantasy style sets, but another Santa so soon feels pretty boring (if you count the sleigh set that came out around the same time as Santa’s Visit). Would’ve liked a new elf colour with a new hat mould or Santa in a summer shirt not working look or something to make the Minifigures selection more desirable.

I love Johnny Thunder so it's amazing to see him back. The new animal moulds are great too, red pandas are my fav animal. That said the sets are kinda underwhelming compared to the previous Jungle Exploration City sets. The previous ones also fit Johnny Thunder better than these new ones do. He feels a bit out of place in these ones, but if you threw him in a remake of 60161, with a plane crash and a gem stone boudler booby trap he'd fit so well!.

I really like it! and can't wait to pair it with the Lion's Castle. I think my only gripe is that I wish we got another Dragon Master minifigure - as someone with only the new era of castle sets, I have heaps of Lions and Falcons but only the one dragon from the Majisto GWP. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Oh for sure! Green Grocer had one of the best facades but the interior was pretty empty, and Market Street didn’t really feel like a market at all. A modern take on these would be able to elevate the concept to a whole other level!. Fruit and Veg stalls supplied by local farmers, a smallgoods butcher, homemade jams, cakes…. So much potential! They could even stick to the Fresh branding they’ve been doing in City recently. -
Happy New Year to those in Australia! Lego’s website doesn’t seem to have this food truck as a gwp yet so perhaps the rumours for this coming out on January 1st are wrong or they just haven’t fully updated their website ? ðŸ˜. Either way I’ll have to wait a bit longer before making an order with all the new sets I want so I can get this gwp 😂.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I'd also love to see some of the older modulars updated or re-released like the other 90th anniversary style sets recently. The Grand Emporium could really do with a detailed interior. The Fire Brigade would be nice too!. As someone more new to modulars I have the Police Station and need the other emergency services in my city, but no way can i afford the off market scalper prices (side note i'd happily take a remake of Ghostbusters Fire House in its place). Rather than a remake, I think Green Grocer and Market Street could be fused together to make a Farmers Market/Grocery store that pays homage to both sets whilst being it's own thing. -
City Jungle was great for hitting that Adventures nostalgia. I hope we get an updated Plane Crash (60161) set.

I was hoping for Alien Conquest to get some love with a new ACU guy or Alien (still not over wave 2 being cancelled haha). I think the stand out here for me is the little Grey Visitor blending in, in human clothes. That guy will easy fit into a Lego City display which is what I mostly use CMF figures for.

I got this GWP with Avenger’s Tower. It’s a pretty fun build, but I can definitely see how it’s a bit lackluster for a remake. As someone who only has the new era of castle sets it’s nice to get another faction, though I’m hoping this isn’t the last we see of the Dragon Masters (maybe a in the rumoured Village 2024 set?). In the meantime I’ll have to bricklink a few figs, because it feels weird having lots of Lions, Falcons and Forestmen and then 1 random Dragon Master.

Marvel Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Undi3sss replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Minifigure line up is a bit disappointing, but I love the new Vision. Wasp kinda makes sense becuase she's a founding member in the comics, but Wong is so random!. Plus if displayed next to the Sanctum, where do I even put the repeat of Wong since he won't have a use in the Tower!. No Maria Hill or Bruce Banner is disappointing too, since they clearly have the hammer table/ultron entrance scene. I like how they use clear stands to have minifgures flying around the building, but Loki's Chariot and the Leviathan don't seem to have a stand or anything to keep them up in the air for display purposes. Anyone have a good idea to support them up on the building?. -
It would be funny if each set came with a piece of him - and by collecting all the sets you get a 5 Star Island for a fully built KK to come and do his concert at 😂
-
My biggest thoughts are just there's a lack of minifigures in these sets. No one comes to Julian's birthday party unless you own other sets in this wave, and Timmy and Tommy aren't there to run their own store.
-
I like how the Lodge's Christmas Tree isn't just there to be the compulsory tree side build in the set. It looks like the minifigure has to cut it down, bring it to the house on his ski then you assemble/decorate it inside (unless it's a second tree in the interior). Really good set def a return to form after last years, I'm not sure how I'll display this one yet though. It feels like it's more remote compared to the other sets, it's outside of the village in a woods full of trees.

The Detective's Office got my vote. I love the little story of baking and smuggling cookies. The missing cat for the Detective to find, and then there's a police woman getting her hair cut at the barbershop unaware of the criminal activity upstairs in the kitchen 😂. Brick Bank is a close second because I still find it funny how they put a Money Laundering Laundry Mat next to the bank. Plus the ability to do a heist and break into the bank vault is a great play feature. The Downtown Diner would make my top three. It might not blend in as well with the modulars but it's still aesthetically really nice. My only issue is the lack of open studs for the waitress to stand on.

I really hope for an Oscorp Modular. The Bugle had a tease for Curt Conners and he'd make perfect sense to be included in it. There's so many villian origin stories they could fit into the building too, have Electros Eel Pool, Dr Octopus's arms, the Lizards serum, Harry Osbornes cure and Goblin stuff. Plus you'd have radioactive Spiders etc. Eventually though, I'd like to see DC get a similar treatment, Wayne Tower and Arkham Asylum would be amazing. -

I love how you can take the underground section off to make it compatible with the rest of Diagon Alley, but I feel like the underground section doesn't really display well on its own, so you'll just be stuck with that part looking weird on a separate display. I do kinda wish it was released as its own thing to make it cheaper for those that just want Gringotts to go with the DA. That said; I'm hoping someone comes up with a raised scaffolding style build to add to the bottom of all the DA buildings so that we can have all of Gringotts attached. If these 2 sets weren't costly enough already haha. -
Wishlist: Future Star Wars Sets and Minifigures

I just built the new buildable Classic Minifigure (40649) and absolutely love it - I put him next to all of my buildable droids and cant help, but think a large minifigure C3-P0 would look great next to R2 (75308).
