Disabled Technic Builders

I'm humbled by the generosity of your comments. Thank you for your kindness. I've nearly done what I want to the 'Mog. There's nothing special, not like some of the guys out there who build those amazing MOC's. Just simple things. I'll get a few pics taken & post them when I'm done. -

Mornin' Good to hear from you again. The pneumatics air lines were the only part of the Uni Mog build I didn't do. My amazingly patient wife connected those for me. I did try, I even dipped the end in my coffee in the hope it'd soften the end but I still couldn't do it. I just did the routing etc., after one end of each had been connected then Gilly made the final connections. I've just about finished the alterations I've made to it & I'll post a few pics when done. -

Thank you for your kind words. I'm sorry to read of the problems you been having with your fingers & hope that with continued therapy you continue improving. Building the 8258 was difficult, it took me around 15 weeks building most days. It's a very impressive 'model'. I've recently built the 8110 Uni Mog & have just about finished motorising it. Just doing a few minor alterations and it'll be done. As you've found, if you set your mind to do something you can do it. If you enjoy doing it it gives you an extra dose of determination. Thanks again for taking the time to write. -

Thank you for taking the time to help. As with my other cries for help, thank you one and all. You really are the best. Isn't the Eurobricks 'family' great to be part of! PS Anyone need an Unused Lego RCX Touch Sensor? -

Very informative. Thank you very much. The TS I have is the same a the one in your posting. Old or new, I don't know but it'd be handy if it could be used. Thanks again. Grum -

Technic Team Patents
grum64 replied to grum64's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Oops. Sorry all, I didn't know that. Note to self... Do homework before posting. -
Hi All Just been looking at the Official Technic Blog page & started getting curious about the guys I was reading about so looked at their bios. All very interesting but me being an inquisitive kind a guy decided to Google one of them. Ricco Rejinholdt Krog in particular. Why? Because his motto is much like my own. If you want it you can make it happen. Those who might have read my previous posting will know why that sparked my interest. Have you seen the amount of patents for Technic parts this guy holds? More interesting are the drawings that accompany the patents. Who amongst you would find these usefu? Take a look.

Hi What an amazing design. Works a treat from the look of things. I use a special cup so don't have a use for this myself but I feel sure there are many who would. You are obviously a man with real heart who thinks of and cares about his fellow man. -
Hi Just thought I'd let you know that I've now got these bricks, I took your advice and tried Lego. They were 32p each as oppossed to at least double that elsewhere. I took the opportunity to get the remaing bricks I needed to complete the Cafe Corner part list & about 90 ther bricks I needed for my 'Mog 'project' and including p&p it cost £25.33. Not bad at all. Thank you again and to all who heeded my call. Much appreciated.

You come to my aid again Sir. I searched 3 times for these today and got nothing in Dark Red. Obviously I need to improve my technique. Thank you very much. Again. Thank you. I'll give them a call & see how they compare. Did you need them for a self sourced Cafe Corner? If you don't mind me asking, what did it end up costing you in total? I've got around 70 bricks to get and have spent £114 inc. p&p etc. A bargain considering the cost of a set on eBay etc,.

Good Evening I'm in the process of sourcing parts for the 10182 Cafe Corner. It's a surprise pressie for my dear wife, sourcing seems to be a cheaper way of getting the set than buying from eBay etc. I'm only a few bricks short most of which I can get but I'm having the devil of a job getting Dark Red 4460 Bricks. I need 30. I've tried BrickLink and eBay to no avail and will try Lego if I can't get the bricks anywhere else. Can anyone help please. Thank you.

Help with the 'Mog Needed
grum64 replied to grum64's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi. Just looked your micro motor swich solution What a great way to do it. I'll get a micro motor off eBay or Bricklink & see if I can do it. Would you mind if I tried to copy your design? I earlier read that Threads should be kept in Topics. If this is the case I'm sorry but I didn't know this. A newbie mistake. To comply with forum rules do i have to put further postings in the previous Topic 'Disabled Technic Builders' I started? -
Help with the 'Mog Needed
grum64 replied to grum64's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi Yes of course. I'll post a picture when I get one taken. There was one draw back with mine being done this way and that was that the 2 sides of the trailers sides weren't secured toward the front where the panel was removed. I'm I the process of (slowly!!) resolving this. -
Help with the 'Mog Needed
grum64 replied to grum64's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Not sure exactly what you mean about the lines. On the wheel or tire? If you mean the wheel, do you mean the lines as part of the 'design'? If so I thought that side of the wheel looked too 'sporty' but that's the way they're shown in the instructions. I turned mine round, they now look far more utilitarian (imho) All a matter of taste I suppose. Each to their own. -

Help with the 'Mog Needed
grum64 replied to grum64's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Great Help. Thank you. Your solution looks very 'elegant'. I've relocated the battery box to the front of the load area by removing the centre 'panel and filling a few extra pieces to Ensure the correct BB width. Slots on a treat & solves the lean caused by the weight of the BB. Doesn't look too bad actually (imvho). Thanks again for your help. I'll let you know how I get on. -
Help with the 'Mog Needed
grum64 replied to grum64's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thank you for your speedy reply. Yes, I'm trying to stop the air pump M motor running completely when 'driving' the ' I've tried connecting the air pump M motor to the BB first then the receiver. The receiver has both the XL drive motor and the XL steering motor connected to both it's terminals. I've also tried the receiver first and the air pump M motor second. Each time the air pump M motor runs. I've got a PF Pole Reverser switch, spare Receiver & spare battery boxes. I even bought a mindstorms touch switch (not the touch sensor) thinking that'd help. It doesnt. Any ideas? Grum64 -
Hi Everyone I'm in the process of motorising the 'Mog but have hit a problem that I can't seem to get solved. The XL motors for the drive & steering are are both in as is the receiver. My problem is once everything is connected up. Up and I turn the battery box switch on the M motor that drives the air pump starts going. Obviously this is going to continue running whle I'm 'driving' the 'Mog. Any ideas how I can switch the air pump motor on only when needed so that it's off while it's driving. As I build by mouth so any solutions need to be relatively simple. I'd appreciate any help. Many Thanks

Hi. I really must find another way of letting people know how much I appreciate the comments they've left. 'Thank you' is getting a bit repetitive and I don't want it to appear trivially left. As for the MOC question. I'm going to have a go when I've finished motorising the 'Mog. I think I've accumulated enough pieces to give it a go. I've a few ideas, we'll see what happens. Just to let you know I've made the clamps you kindly designed, built & tested and you're right. They're GREAT!!! Thank you so much for all your help. They work a treat, makes joining beams very easy. And your design is easily scaleable. I have to repeat. They're GREAT!!!! -

WOW! I'm overwhelmed by your thoughtfulness. Thank you doesn't really seem adequate. It's one thing to have people kindly point me in the right direction as they've done but to go to the trouble of actually building & 'testing' a solution is, well, kinda, WOW!!! I'm lost for words. And out of Lego. Double WOW!!! I'll try them out and let you know how it goes. I'm really am incredibly grateful.
