hypocycloid kinetic sculpture
domleg replied to Diamabolo's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Really cool movement. I've also looked at your other mechanical sculptures, good stuff. -
I have no experience with instructions making but for the target demographic of people owning two ev3 bricks and several medium motors a Studio model would probably suffice, especially if it's divided into subassemblies. For the same reason I wouldn't worry too much about cable routing or joining subassemblies - I suppose folks can figure that out, it's not rocket science. There are dozens of amazing projects on rebrickable that are no more than a 3d model and have lots of positive feedback.

Thank you so much for the Studio file, it's super helpful, finally I will have a chance to build this stunning creation. Do you happen to have a Studio file for your amazing Cartesian Parallel Robot by any chance? I'm trying to rebuild it from the photos but I'm struggling a bit so far. I hope it's not too forward. Many thanks. -

Thank you so much, I've learned so much from it already. -

Amazing creation as always. I adore the smoothness of the arm movements and the compactness of the machine. Would it be possible to share the Pybricks code please? Building a recreation looks simple enough, programming in the other hand is nigh impossible for me. Thanks in advance. -
[WIP] The Flying Brick Restarted

If you put it that way ten any moc using Buwizz isn't lego either. It's just power and control electronics, literally every other component is lego, most crucially motors and propellers, as howitzer already mentioned. -

I hope you've seen this video, someone proved that no glue and no tether is necessary to make lego fly, just a more powerful power source: -

This is absolutely beautiful, reminds me of piano phases experiments by Steve Reich. The previous "visual" version was hypnotic, but this is entirely something else. I would sell my left kidney for an instruction. -

Thank you everyone involved for your tremendous effort. The module looks absolutely awesome and I happen to have all the required parts. I'm really looking forward to see the mods made by @Doug72.- 63 replies

Hello all, This is my first post after a few years of lurking about - thanks to everyone for maintaining such an active community. Recently I've been building a robot arm based on a vertical tower with 32L long worm gear with a nut. While struggling with lots of play between the grabber and the base I started wondering what is the reason for the 7:8 height to width ratio used in technic beams? Wouldn't 1:1 be so much neater from the all-direction, 3d building system perspective? I tried to google around, with little success. Has anyone got any ideas? Thanks domleg
