the Inika masks all looked pretty dumb, and were incompatible with everything. The 3 masks from the toa mistika were the worst though. oh, and hewki mahri's awful looking hat thing.. My favorite masks were the Ignika, The Olmac, The Kualsi, and the original 6 toa masks. Hero factory wise, Core hunter's helmet was AWESOME. I really hated the later hero masks on bulk, breeze, and surge, when they started putting mouths on them instead of the cool looking mouthplates.

Bionicle Skull Villain Alternate Builds
Antak replied to TheOneVeyronian's topic in LEGO Action Figures
@Takanuinuva That is awesome. It felt so wrong not having a villain for gali. -
Finished my second rahkshi today, this one is a remake of vorahk. Its bulkier than the other one I built, since he needs a strong frame to support all that stolen strength. the staff is massive, but fairly light. its ridiculous size is deceptive, the creature drags it behind him into battle, but is swinging it easily after absorbing some power. It actually is modeled after g1 vorahk's staff piece, but HUGE. As before, there is a flight mode, multi-purpose staff, functioning kraata chamber and a waist function. RAHKSHI OF STEROIDS!!! A stage 2 hunger kraata, trying to do a different one in each rahkshi I build. And the flight mode pics are terrible. it looks hilariously stupid with the staff in this configuration. Anyway, now onto Turahk...

Thank you! I had fun making him, the g2 toa really needed meaner looking villians...
-
Nice job. I actually liked the old wairuha nuva, it didn't seem as gappy or weird to me as the other early combo's. But I forgot about that height difference... he really doesn't fit in with the other toa kaita at all.

Thank you. I figured it was frowned on to post massive images

One of 3 g2 rahkshi I've been working on, This one is based on the old rahkshi of chain lightning, which sadly never had a story role but did officially exist. This model has a swiveling waist, functional kraata compartment, a flight mode, and mean looking staff that can split in half to form swords. There's a stage 1 chain lightning kraata in its back. I'm almost done with a Vorahk and just started making a Turahk. might do a gravity rahkshi too, it had blue and silver colors, and I have a spare dark blue head. Also, does anyone know how to embed pictures without them being giant?

Interesting idea, also some cool construction. Love the shadow trap halves on his waist. Keeping this guy together?

Here's my entry for the makuta contest. He's not too big, about the size of Umarak the destroyer. He has a waist function like the old 2003 model. The hammer is probably my favorite part, but i also love how the 2 Onua torsos mesh together. I named him the Destroyer, because I would have rather Lego release something like this for the large summer set instead of turning Umarak into a generic monster. I took photos out on a little bridge I found along a hiking trail, wanted it to stand out in the contest. Rebrick entry: http://www.lego.com/...cc-9cb29385a06c The moup normally looks like lego purple, however, in really bright lighting it looks more magenta.

I think the earlier version was tighter, I had to use pliers to the head off of mine. And it won't slide over axle connections like on the part you used

Oh, nice. You got the updated design, too. mines the older pre-villager design. does that version fit the head? Also, your stand is glorious.

it probably won't unfortunately. Between the metal being slightly thicker and the lack of flexibility, it just wont attach (safely) to pretty much anything a standard mask fits on. try 2 of these (http://www.bricklink...lor=11#T=C&C=11), with one of these (http://www.bricklink...lor=11#T=C&C=11) in the middle. Basically, the mask of creation stand without the technic part on top. its flexible enough that you can fit it around the masks connectors. then, just slide a technic piece of your choosing through the top and put an axle through it. you'll have to take it apart a little to remove the mask but I just tried it and it works well (Image from bzpower 70795 reveiw) Edit:Not enough room to slide an axle through the top. dang Maybe use the longer beams instead (https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=32449&name=Technic,%20Liftarm%201%20x%204%20Thin&category=%5BTechnic,%20Liftarm%5D#T=C) so you have enough room.

I wish the other beasts were as good as this guy.

The gold steel doesn't fit the standard g2 head at all, sadly, but that titan sized mask is perfect for the jto makuta model. every other official mask is just too small. Some one needs to post a picture of him battling the Mata-nui titan from 2009.

no, sorry if I was unclear, the metal just doesnt fit. I tried attaching it, had to remove the head with pliers. its villager sized.

The metal one is on the upper left. I'd like to add that the villager size fits on the head a little bit better, and has a working eject function.

Might want to hurry, TRU is the only place that really has them, and most of the cool ones are gone.

I have both masks as well, One in black, a villager sized one in gold plated steel, and a villager sized in purple. There isnt a black polished, but the polished is still pretty rough anyway, but the material is pretty strong. both versions of the mask are really thick, so not too worried about breakage. I've found gloss black spray paint and a matte coat work well to replicate lego's black, the purple is already the right color. Finally citadel's auric gold (https://www.games-workshop.com/en-WW/Citadel-Layer?s=99189951062) is spot on for lego's color of gold, but it works best with a layer of paint underneath it, gold spraypaint works well for an undercoat. The metal, while cool, is not worth it, it doesn't fit on the head, and the gold plating rubs off pretty easily. frustrating, because its surprisingly close to legos gold color as well. I'll post pictures if I can

they could have at least done 6 episodes, the story desperately needed detail, and a better ending. A fight between makuta and all six toa, with him wielding all six elements against them, would have been awesome.

JtO Makuta Observations and Alterations
Antak replied to Silent Nomad's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Try kmart, just got an onua uniter tonight, they still had some lewa's too -
That's actually really cool. looks kinda like the hikaki dragon (http://biosector01.com/wiki/index.php/Hikaki), except with a better head, and more interesting functions
