  1. Haldor shot upright as a robed figure strode proudly through the hall to post a note upon the questboard. Straining his eyes to define the writing on it, the Nord noticed the bright seal of the Paladin order, and the names of those who had been decided to embark on the quest hosted by the religous knights. Noticing his name on the list, along with (to his pleasure) dear Jess, and the steadfast knight Cronk. This would turn out to be a most eventful quest indeed, and Haldor would hopefully be able to put his new skills to the test, and maybe even find out what the hell he was supposed to do with Zoot's Plaything. The burly Nord helped himself to another long draught of ale, and watched the goings on around him.
  2. Looks like Jess will be in control of Haldor this quest.
  3. Haldor paid a visit to Eubric's bustling marketplace once again, on a mission to pick up some supplies to aid him in the coming future. First, the Nord stopped by Gnomeo's rickety toolshed to find himself some material. "Ah, Gnomeo, it has been a long time since I last stood at this store. I am back here in need of a bedroll, for your listed price of five gold pieces." Handing over the meagre amount of coins, Haldor took his new sleeping arrangements and was away with a cheery smile. Next, he dropped in on Portia's Potion Shack, one could never have too many potions and spells. "Greetings, miss. While I am here, I would like to purchase a few of your concoctions that you have on sale. This nostrum, and this vial of smelling salts look to be useful for me, so here I give you your 60 coins in return for both of them. My thanks to you, miss Portia." And with that, the Norseman turned to leave for the hall, his pockets lighter and his satchel full of brand new goods.
  4. Haldor tried to prise himself off of the floor, but then decided to lie there with her a little longer. "Ah, so that's where you had gotten to. I missed you too, my love. There were times back in that valley that I was unsure of myself, but thinking of you I knew that I had to remain strong. Much happened while we were there, many bad things, and we saw Wren. There was an amulet with terrible powers, that could bind the esscence of a god in the body of a mortal, and she, she took it for herself. Oh Jess, we could barely save ouselves, and now I know that we must meet her again, one last time. For the sakes of all, from Dastan to this rough-hewn spit of land, we must meet her one final time, and we must be ready to put an end to this madness." Haldor had to stop himself from continuing, now was not the time to speak of such things. He was back, back where he belonged, for now at least. Helping himself up, the Nord pulled Jess into a tight embrace and held her there in his arms. It was good to be back. But as much as he would like, he couldn't stay there forever, and had to detach himself from her grasp. The Norseman led his girl over to the quest board to see what adventures there would be posted. "Jess, see this one." Haldor pointed to an entry "Something about the Paladin Order, seems good to me. If we're going to be ready, for when the time comes, to face her, we had better start preparing. What better way to get ready, than to go on a quest such as this one? See if I can't find a use for this thing." Haldor showed Jess a quick glimpse of his black orb, an impossible object that continued to baffle the Nord, but stowed it away again quickly. "Well, what do you think? I sign up for Quest #49: The Light that reveals everything. I hope you do too, Jess, who knows what we might find out there?" Haldor waved over for some mead for the two of them, before sitting comfortably down.
  5. Thanks a bunch, Haldor will get right on signing up.
  6. Great, I can't wait to know more about them. Somebody had better page JimB before it's too late and he gains more Bonaparte reputation.
  7. Kadabra hasn't properly ended his character yet, nor has he created a new one, so I would think that he still has a say while Arasmyth is still his to control. If he were to log on and agree with the trades, I do not see why that wouldn't be legitimate. Wow, that is an unecessary thing to say. Accross the internet especially, where you actually have no idea who Flipz is. I also dislike it when age is used to condescend on others, and for all we know, Flipz could be double your age and with a larger moustache. Furthurmore, I disagree with your point. As I said before, Kadabra is the only one who can really sort this. Thanks for cheering us up.
  8. Lady? Fabian is male...
  9. I'm not sure that Flipz is cheating, it might not to be everyone's taste, but it seems to be 'fair' by the rules. The only way to truly clear this thing up is to have Kadabra pop up and agree to the trade, I suppose. Reminds me of when JohnPaul changed his characters, and had his new on defeat Bacari in the hall. I remember that he said that Bacari's 100 gold was up for grabs, but I refused out of good grace for the rules.
  10. Haldor leant back on his chair, taking a long draught of alcohol. Jess was still not here, and that upset him. He'd been hoping that she would be here waiting for him to get back, and to great his return with open arms, but she evidently had more important things to do. Haldor sighed, she wasn't there when he needed her, when he wanted her more than ever, she was off on somewhere. The Nord couldn't help but express a sigh. After reclining for a long while, Haldor pulled himself to his feet to place a note on the Questboard, it read: Wanted: One opal gem of ice, willing to pay to pay sums of gold or a trade. See Haldor for more details. "I hope that someone takes notice of that, I could do with something to cheer me right now. Oh how I wish Jess were here." Haldor looked up solemnly, as though some deeper force could show him where she may be. The Nord tried to dispell much darker thoughts of what she could be doing above seeing his return, but still, his doubts were there...
  11. I don't know who was analyzing or hypothosizing all yesterday, but it certainly wasn't you. I'm hard pressed to find more than one single speech of yours that was any use, so don't try taking any credit for anything, you've been nothing but an irritant for us so far. I just checked my memory for our previous day, and if anything, it was me who layed the line for the lynch, even if it is nothing to be proud of. I think that you're overestimating your value to us. But still, your behaviour is fast giving me more and more readings of 'innocent but ignorant' now, and less of a Mafia impression. Excuse me, Sir? I have been vocal and contributive both today and yesterday, so I don't know what you are trying to insinuate with your words. Is it possible, that I did not recieve a vote because the other members of our force saw me to be innocent? 'Flying under the radar' implies that I have been overly quiet and being very little to our effort, which is totally wrong for me. I was acting very far from covert or 'flying under the radar' at all. I recommend that you read through past things a tad more before making assumptions. This statement seems far too quick to jump on the vote for my liking, without even an effort to pretend to be thinking for yourself. Come on people, this is exactly the actions that we have to avoid if we want a chance of getting out of here alive. Maybe this'll convince you to speak up for yourself... Vote: Zachary(Zakura)Phil coughs audibly.
  12. True, true. While there is always the chance of his innocence, one such as him is only a danger and unhelp regardless of his affiliation. His remarks and comments are distracting at best, and he has done nothing to assist us thus far. And, if he does turn up as a good guy, which I doubt, what have we even lost by lynching him? I'm not voting yet, but Isaac should consider his name well and truly in my notebook, thickhead that he is. Phil coughs again, whilst muttering about 'bloody frogs and mafia scums'. So that's all good.
  13. There should be an Angry effect, which doubles power but makes the user fragile.
  14. Well, damn. Losing two people in one night, and being wrong about Jean as well. What perplexes me here, is that it was both Andrea and Gary who were killed in one night, the same two people who didn't want to lynch Jean! I don't know what to make of this, but that seems like an extremely odd thing to be a coincidence. You're pushing your luck here, Isaac. Either you're not paying attention and listening to loud music, or you're a goon who hasn't thought things through. After your behaviour yesterday, I'm inclined to think the latter just for this. Please convince me otherwise, before we all set our minds about you and your 'slips'. Phil strolls up to the janitor and coughs in his face, before sitting back down.
  15. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IJsAuUgSgc Don't ya wonder sometimes? 'bout Sound and Vision?
  16. Wait, you hadn't seen it before? But I have to agree with you about Iron Man although, the film was worth watching just for Robert Downey Jr's acting.
  17. Hey, it's a valid tactic, people are less able to think and fight properly if they're angry. Don't tell me you've never seen Sherlock Holmes?
  18. In the absense of any of his friends to talk to or anything otherwise to do, Haldor made a trip to the marketplace to stock up on some new gear. Making straight for Fabian's, the Nord addressed the man. "Hail, Fabian, I have stopped by your store because I am in need of something to aid me on future quests. Something to protect me and take hits, you have something like this in your sale?" The wily Elf showed Haldor through his wares, pointing regularly to explain certain items. After much head-shaking, the Nord was finally settled on a heavy armour of thick plates, which he then purchased from Fabian at the agreed price of 230 gold. Straining at the weight, the Norseman held his new armour on his shoulder as the deal was made, leaving Haldor with 245 gold pieces. "But there is one more thing that I will need your assisstance for. I have here an old scroll, which can impart blindness onto my foes. I've never used it, and I don't think I'm one for reading spells when everyone else is running out kicking heads, so maybe I could put this to better use. Fabian, could you merge this Scroll of Blindness with my with my Ethereal Cloak for 50 gold pieces? This way, the light of the Gods can always grant me sight, even when my earthly eyes fail me." Haldor turned to leave the square, now hulking around some heavy metal and a special enchantment on his robe, and with only 195 pieces of gold remaining. This would surely help him on future ventures, he thought as he trudged back to the hall.
  19. Loving the new looks for Tesni and Alexis, and I adore how well that fairy torso fits Alexis so perfectly. I might have a new look for Haldor coming soon, see if he can't but himself a shirt after all this time.
  20. I say make shields unusable with dual weapons, there is no sense in using both hands to strike different targets but still holding a shield.
  21. Who slew a god? I'm pretty sure that we just fought a tiny section of one that was imprisoned in a mortal body.
  22. Haldor swung open the heavy doors and found himself a seat in the hall. Despite he and his friends return, the great room with its aura of warmth was strangely empty, and most of Haldor's friends were away on quests. With little else to do, the Nord began subconciously touching the black plaything that he carried with him from his quest, and became more and more perplexed by its impossible blackness and changing of shape. But try as he might, he could not reach any kind of understanding over the object, and even less any kind of control. Shrugging at this, the tall man leant back in his chair and looked around for his lady, Jess. He badly needed to speak to her again. "Anyone here seen or heard of an Elf called Jess recently? Anyone know where she might be? Tall, slim, big...erm, hair, you can't miss her." While he waited for any response, Haldor couldn't help but notice Cronk trading with a strangely pale girl, who was now handling an icy gem. "You there, I apologise that I do not know your name. I am Haldor, and I notice that you have an Opal in your possession. Such things remind me of home, so would you be willing to part with it for a sum of gold? What price would you require?" I've accepted your payment JMB, thanks.
  23. I have to say, I very much enjoyed playing in your quest, and will definitely be signing up for the conclusion to your epic series. While we were railroaded at times, I can say that it did not affect the overall experiance at all. It isn't like there is much to explore in a deserted valley anyways. The character developement and story of your NPCs was excellent as always, I genuinely felt sorry for Triad and irritated at Roderick, sad as that makes me sound. It is also really nice when NPCs actually roleplay with the heroes, instead of remaining distant and wooden, it is this that makes your quests that bit more engaging to play. I feel as though Haldor grew quite a bit on the quest as well, coming out quite a bit more educated and balanced as a person after all that. Arthur and Gray had quite a bit of impact on him, as unwanted as their advice seemed to be. This was also my first go as a PL, and it seemed a lot easier that I had thought it would be, but to be honest there weren't a lot of out-of-combat descisions for me to make. Overall, it was a very enjoyable quest to go on, and I thank you Zepher for hosting it.
