  1. The otter is $0.67 The rabbit is $1.97
  2. Black barrels from the Pirate bay set were available the other day. This is a rare part in black. Also, the little blue birds from the new modular bookstore were available. I think most everything else I ordered was already available.
  3. I finally got the rest of the tiles on Friday to finish this part of the project. I also made a simple wood base for it, so that I could move it around easier. Thank you to Robin_IV for the digital file to create the water look! 20200525_142356 by topazard, on Flickr
  4. Progress: pirate base2 by topazard, on Flickr I'm still waiting on a couple orders to wrap this project up. The cost of parts needed to be purchased was about $180, which did not include shipping. Most of this cost was just for the surface pieces and the two big baseplates. EDIT: credit for the design is Robin_IV (page 1 of this thread).
  5. FYI: when I proceed to enter the B&P site it provides me with these countries to select from: Belgium Czech Rep. Germany New Zealand Poland Spain Sweden USA I'm guessing these are the countries that Lego intended to open up B&P, for the time being.
  6. Awesome. I was going to try to figure out how to make some once fabric stores re-opened. Now I can spent my time and efforts elsewhere.
  7. What is WWW? I haven't seen a set preview for Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, so I'm not sure what this could refer to.
  8. Mail is running a bit slower than normal, though I did manage to complete over half of the tiled base by Robin_IV. Hopefully, it will be nearly complete by the end of next week, as more BL orders arrive. The site doesn't let me post photos, so I'll have to figure that out too. A couple recommendations for doing this mod: use mostly 1x4 tiles (cheaper) and switch their orientation. I tried placing the tiles as they are in the studio file, but it didn't look quite right. I removed the tiles and re-oriented them in a way similar to Ninjago City 70620, which looked much better. I don't think the final product will look quite as nice as the studio file render, so keep that in mind (due to project cost).
  9. Very nice work! Did you cut those by hand or use something like a Cricut craft device? I'm not even sure fabric stores are open near me, due to the shutdown. Otherwise, I'd try to do something similar.
  10. The set must be selling reasonably well. I went to buy another (to keep as the ship) and found out that it is out of stock for time being.
  11. Thank you! I've already started to gather the parts as a side project.
  12. I didn't have many pirates sets as a child and certainly no big Lego sets (biggest was Forestmen's river fortress, my favorite back then). Based on the set release dates on BrickLink, my first pirate sets were likely these that came out in 1989: 6257 Castaway's raft 6260 Shipwreck island (I think I have still have the baseplate)
  13. It was most likely a pricing error as Walmart generally sells them for $3.44 (+ tax), at least in my area. I just bought 15 today and the first two I opened were the Pirate lady. I like the figure though it doesn't seem versatile enough to buy more than a couple.
  14. A quick measure of my set yields 25.25" w x 12.25" d x 23.5" h. This is a close estimate, as I would need more room and some plywood from the workshop to obtain exact outer dimensions. (There are several parts that stick out past the base) or 64.14 cm x 31.12 cm x 59.69 cm (if my conversions are correct)
  15. Agreed. I may need to buy a second set to build the ship, as the island is too cool to tear apart. My favorite build since last year's Apocalypseburg.
  16. US order marked shipped (essentially means label was printed). It looks like their facility is reasonably close to me, just outside Chicago, which is about a 5 hour drive. Maybe I'll get it by Monday.
  17. The process is the same as it was prior to the acquisition. Since, Lego stores are closed, most of us have not even received the set in order to submit an inventory. In fact, I haven't even received a confirmation email for my order placed at midnight on the 1st. Give it a month or so for a BL inventory.
  18. That's awesome! Did you happen to make a digital file (studio, ldd, etc.) of the base? If so, any chance that you will offer it, either freely or for a fee on rebrickable? Thanks.
  19. The USA Lego shop has a message stating that they are behind due to a surge in orders and they may not be able to deliver by Easter. P.S. I ordered immediately at midnight. I wonder if it was just Pirate Bay that was such a hit to cause this delay.
  20. I never receive immediate order confirmations when ordering direct from Lego. They usually arrive by the next business day or two. Also, I don't think VIP points are applied until the order ships.
  21. I wonder if the set would fit nicely on 2 32x32 baseplates with the water done similar to Ninjago City.
  22. Same here. I think it will all depend on where these packages are coming from. Some countries have halted international shipping.
  23. If you live in the USA, then used sets off ebay is a good option. Otherwise, buying new sets from international sellers on BrickLink can be doable too. I have yet to find any good USA source for new Technic sets at a discount (especially the bigger sets). For instance, I can buy the new 42100 for about $375-400 shipped to me from an international seller, whereas the set will likely remain at $450 (+ Tax) from USA retailers.
  24. I thought the Falcon was $799, where as the ISD is $699. The competition between Walmart and Amazon has created some nice discounts, so I think we may see the same with the ISD.
  25. I have a hard time with the inflation argument. Lego has made so many cost-cutting initiatives since 2002. How many jobs were sent to overseas factories that have cheaper labor (2006: 44% of Enfield, CT and 75% of Denmark headquarters. New jobs in Mexico)? What about the diminishing quality of Lego products? Surely these must be a factor in keeping the prices low too.
