  1. Thank you for nice review. I understand orange is based on real one, but it looks messy and distracting. I would prefer if LEGO kept it less realistic but more visually clean. Also I do not like the "cage" cabin. I am little bit disappointed by "difficult to control", that should not happen. LEGO should always (even for adults) stay great and therefore playable toy (IMO). But overall I think it is a great set.
  2. I would disagree. 8274 was very simple - way too simple. possible functions from top of my head for UCH (Ultimate Combine Harvester) - scale 1:1 to Class 5000 - drive - steering - lift of cutting bar. - angle of cutting bar. - trailer for cuttin bar - cutting bar is removable - angle of emptying arm. - ability to pick up bricks from the floor (harvest) - ability to separate them according to size (B model of BWE can do that) - small bricks go through emptying arm on e.g. Arocs bed. - big bricks are neatly put on the floor in the lines behind UCH (ultimate combine harvester) others small stuff: Openable doors tilt of the cabin - some harvestors can do that openable dorsal cover - so you can see separation of bricks (small vs. big) inside. hey? that seems to me like ultimate material for ultimate top end flagship. :-)
  3. toys (and also electronics [covers, cases], medical instruments, tools..), but recently it is mostly toys. Thank you very much for all replies. I actually like the cabin. It is easy to open - pull the black black pins in the back of the cabin one click out, move around forward - Duplo-kid figure fits on the seat. Kids like it. I like building with limited parts available. If I build something and need part I do not have (or wrong colour, or not enough of them) I rather redesign.
  4. I would personally wished for really advanced combine harvestor. TLG has already collaborated with Class, so Class would be probably the most logical choice (although other brand or even non-brand one would be nice).
  5. I replied in the edit of original post. Thanks.
  6. Hi, I would like to present my C_model for 42042. I love 42042 set. I think it is the most underrated set. I do not like very much that often B models are not very different from A models. That is the case for 42042. B crane is still a crane. So I decided to build something different. Bulldozer My goals was to build good looking, sturdy, very playable, easy to operate (my kids tested that well :-) ) model. Features (motor operated): drive steering lifting of the blade lifting of rear rippers Manual: openable hood I also wanted: accessible battery pack. (it is simple to get it out and replace batteries) decent colour coordination (hence GT white fast strip :-) ) logical position of parts with stickers from 42042 A model Body is easy to remove and put back on. Please tolerate quality of my pictures. Thank you for feedback. Pictures: Leftover parts: Video: (click to view on flickr) Edit (reaction to instruction question from comments): I designed this completely computer free way, just building, "un-building", rebuilding, and again building. Therefore I do not have instructions - I might do it later (I need to learn how) - I do LEGOing only "computer free" way. I design stuff for living, so I do not want to use computers in my free time. EDIT 2: REBRICKABLE - Instructions There are instructions (hi-res PDF computer generated step-by-step, with bill of material and everything) available Edit 3: Now I made some computer renders, hope you like them:
  7. Thank you very much for excellent review and nice video. This tractor looks amazing. Double PTO is fantastic. Steering looks great, but still it seems to me actual turning radius will be huge. Is that the case?
  8. Sorry, my bad, I watched that section again. I understand now. Thank you.
  9. What is the white box? It seems like it is just a filler in the main box. Is that true? If so, I have to comment that is ridiculous. TLG claims they do not print B models instruction for enviromental reasons, but creating empty boxes and having "air" shipped across the world using fuel and resources is OK? I would prefer to have small box (full) and ideally B-model instruction printed. Please, could you clarify about content of the white box? Thanks.
  10. Hi, I am newly registered here (I have been reading for quite some time now) I registered because I want to show some of my MOCs (later), and now to say thank you Sariel for nice review of the set I am really looking forward to. My comments (I am industrial designer - I design toys professionally [not LEGO]): Speed: IMO: "to keep it real bro" I would bet, that was the intention behind lowering speed as low as possible. Real BWEs are slow too. Moving forward, turning of super strucure takes forever too. If you see them in action (apart from belt and actual bucket wheel - which moves fast) one would argue if they actually move when they move, hardly visible. Digging: IMO safety was main concern here. if it was designed strong enough that it would actually dig through pile of e.g. LEGO bricks, it would have been difficult to make it "toy legal" on some markets (we live in "nanny world") Thank you for review, again.
