When you say "Lego print", you don't mean the word lego that's stamped into the top of each piece do you? (If you do - I would very much like you to come and organize my shelves. Maybe even my entire home. You can bring the cat.). And I agree with ro-bot. Nice build on the cat lol

AND YET, ANOTHER UPDATE: Called Lego customer service. They are so good at their jobs. Needless to say - I bought the castle. Ended up getting an addition 400 VIP points because of a damaged 76052 box so it offset the double VIP points. My head is swimming lol. The only drawback to having purchased it now is that there is no promotional item included.

What do you think about the longevity of this set? That's the real kicker for me. UPDATE: just talked to the Lego manager at my local store - the castle sold out in 15 minutes (21 sets) but she feels that TLG would be crazy not to have enough sets to make it through the Christmas season.

That's the advice I was given, wait until double VIP points are offered. It's killing me though. My little lego addicted brain keeps saying the castle might sell out before they offer double points again because the Disney minifigures went so fast. But then on the other hand, this is a pricey set so maybe it wont. Then again, there is the rumor they are going to re-issue the Disney minifigures next month with the official launch of the castle. If that happens then I am pretty well assured we "might" have a longer run with the castle. Being a newbie AFOL, I am deferring to the expert opinion given here. Wait and save some money. But, being an addicted Lego AFOL, I also might cave in next month and get the set. What I think is really needed is a Lego Addict Anonymous Group. "Hi, my name is 'insert name here' and I am an addict." We can hold interventions and have meetings. Make little lego donuts and serve coffee from Lego cups. Hopefully keep people from taking out second mortgages to buy the multitudes of fantastic Lego sets offered each year. But I digress and don't want to anger the message board edit gods so I'll leave that for another thread. A smarter idea would be to find out how many castles Lego is deciding to sell. I can never get a straight answer when I call the Lego sales representatives. It's like trying to figure out who killed JFK. Does anyone here ever remember an expensive set being so popular it sold out within six months?

I totally agree. Not only is the Lego store in St Louis a great Lego store, it's the best store I have ever shopped at. I actually came home from there and fired off a letter to Lego praising my experience. The store was crowded the day I was there and still I had great customer service. I can't wait for an excuse to take another road trip over there.

Speaking as a newbie AFOL and as someone who discovered Lego a few months after the EOL of 10188, I Can't Freaking Wait for the new release. I had to pay almost $50 over Original price for 10188 and because of its investment opportunities, have never unsealed it. So, Bring on the New Set! To those of you who are investors and feel somewhat let down by the reissue of the old DS, I feel bad for you. But for those of us who are new and still love the build, wahooooo! This is going to be awesome. From the thrill of opening the box and ripping open the new bags of never used bricks - to the silly mistakes that mean you have to take it back apart to figure out what you did wrong - to the very end where we sit and stare at the new creation! Oh, and lets not forget the minifigures. Lego has really been delivering on the designs. As far as I am concerned, Lego can keep making decisions based on people who love the build. The secondary market for Lego is not going to dry up. I am proof of that having bought three after-market QAR's (couldnt help myself). My only problem is that there are three sets to purchase before the new DS and they are all pricey. Luckily there are five huge sets waiting to be built in the closet. All i need now is spare time. And more room in my home to display these awesome sets!

Hadn't thought of the lottery. Have thought about refinancing the house. Maybe getting a loan, taking bribe money if ever offered. Maybe even standing on a corner with a sign that says "will work for Lego" but... not the lottery. Thanks Off to buy a ticket now. And all for a toy castle!

Hi, I'm new here. Pretty much new to lego too. (7 months). I have a question about the Cinderella/Disney Castle and hope to get all of your input. What are the chances of this set only being available for a short amount of time like the Disney minifigs? They were sold out in a couple of months i think. Is it the same way with larger Lego sets? Can they be sold out in a matter of months? I think the demand will be high for this one and I wonder if I should buy it right away or wait.
