FYI - Duracell batteries do not work properly in the recommended IR remote control (8879). They are too short to connect - you have to use Energizer or something similar with a longer positive connection. Some friends and I spent quite a long time trying to make the train work after a night out. It was quite funny until a 10 year old came out of his room, told us to quiet down and handed us different batteries.

Maybe that's a deeply secretive set finally containing Cinderella? Maybe even a polybag? Yeah yeah - that's it! It's Cindy in a pumpkin riding to the ball. Or not, haha. Ok seriously, does LEGO follow some rule where they have to put out a CMF series before a set? And do the sets always follow in numerical order?
-
Not all of the Disney minifigures were represented in the Disney Castle. I'm guessing since the numbers 71042 follow the Castle's 71040 that maybe it will have something to do with Peter Pan. Or maybe even Alice in Wonderland. But I wont complain if it's a new POTC ship either. Either way, my heart skipped a beat when I read the post. I love this site!

If you are interested in purchasing the additional train tracks (that have been on back order for weeks), the US online site still has them on back order but the flex and straight tracks have an expected stock date of Oct 23. I was able to put an order in for the switching tracks also (7895) but no stock date has been set yet.

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
BrickOCD replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
Those all sound great but, I hope it's not all Batman minifigures. Finding the full set could be very challenging unless LEGO decided to have mercy and package them in clear, see-through packaging. -
My guess is it's real sand then, but just because of the quantity. Thanks for mentioning the fact about what happens if dogs eat it. There's quite a few animals that live here.
-
I "was" sure it was real sand until you mentioned kinetic sand. I have no idea now. Never heard of kinetic sand before. Is kinetic sand safe for LEGO pieces? It wont scratch them?
-
After recovering from seeing that you had put the Castle in the sand, I read the story and loved it. Great imagination! Good pics throughout too.

I know exactly what you mean about buying three sets. Way expensive!!! At this point in time though, it could be feasible because each additional set could only cost around $150 (if the extra pieces are eventually sold). My problem is that I never sell any LEGO pieces. They just get hoarded. I need to get together the pieces I already have then just try to order what's needed through Pick A Brick. I know I want all new blue pieces. This is one time my hoarding might pay off lol. Also my wall elements may not be in the best condition. If you can light up the ferris wheel, you are a lighting guru! I have ideas for that but this isn't the thread for it. I know exactly what you mean about buying three sets. Way expensive!!! Thanks! And Thank You too mgoblue1997! Now i can finally light up my modulars too. I'm surprised they stayed in stock that long. Hopefully they will do another run before double VIP points run out. Personally, I'm holding out for black friday (maybe 3x VIP points?). I need one more set. I want to do a full castle MOC but i think it will take a full three sets unless pick a brick has the parts needed to hinge it together properly. Depends on which is cheaper. According to Ebay prices - it might be cheaper to buy the 3 sets and sell off the minifigs and addition pieces later. People are already paying over $50 just for Tinkerbell. This is definitely going to be an interesting set to watch.

You're welcome. Those lights are fantastic. Are they purple or blue? And if you don't mind me asking, where did you get the lights? I would like to get some also. And I agree with using white and grey instead of brown. I thought of that later on but not until after i had it built. Your build really looks great!

I used a 2x6 where it calls for a 1x6. I used 1x3's on the side where it called for 1x2's. Then stacked 1x1 bricks up the sides to fill in the space behind the white 1x4 pillars. Hope that helps.

Not sure why the photos wont upload. It says they are too big but I know they are smaller than what is required. Sorry.

Yes, step 361 page 218. Sorry about that. And i will try to post a pic. Have never tried to post one before so.... no promises but will try

The U.S. Lego Shop Online DOES have it! Order away now if u see this. They sold out the entire stock of 700 in an hour earlier this morning. She wont tell me how many they have in stock right now.

The U.S. Lego Shop Online shows the Disney Castle in stock but sadly they sold out fast and the website hasn't been updated.

The local store here says to call every Monday to see if a shipment came in with the Disney Castle. They do have the minifigs so I still have hope that the castle will come in again for the holidays too. I would like to get a couple more eventually. Anyway, the build is worth the hassle you went through to get it. It's basically three stages, hardly any repetition and the colors work very well together. I finished building it last night. Still need to put on the stickers but they can wait. I also increased the depth of the front center balcony after noticing here that people are having a hard time fitting Minnie into it with her skirt. It was fairly simple, using a 2x6 brown instead of the 1x6 on page 361. Then swapping two brown 1x3's for the 1x2's and adding 1x1 bricks studs up the side. There's little or no difference to be seen in the final appearance. I also added a black stud to Mickie's feet to make him taller (Minnie over towers him with that bow). Other than that, the Castle is one if the best builds to date. Hope you enjoy it as much!

Just built Ironman and Capt America and They're great! I can see buying many more of these sets as long as they aren't as terribly overpriced.

Chewy - something tells me that you are just a tad bent haha. "ewoks have special tricks?" That part of the castle may need a curtain added. Ok so - great video. It gave me an idea to widen the balcony pretty easily, just have to find the piece I need. Thanks.
-
That was my initial thought also. So this weekend I started watching the Disney movies associated with the castle set so I could better appreciate the different rooms. I was simply under the impression the castle was to add another dimension to the CMF series. I started with "Tangled" which was actually pretty good and then "Brave" which didn't hold my interest. (I am not one to sit idle long.) And then it occured to me that maybe, if this is a park theme, watching the movies isn't all that important. But if that's not the case then there's a few more movies I will need to watch. Thanks for your input also.

I wish I could have read this before I called customer service to inquire. I only asked if there had been an official announcement. My guess is the representative had been asked this question many times before because he was quite prickly lol. I never did get an answer from him. Just so you all know. Customer service reps are "Not Allowed To Speculate!" Don't ask them any questions about up and coming sets because they are "Not Allowed To Speculate!" Even if you are NOT asking them to speculate, trust me - they are "Not Allowed to Speculate".
-
I've tried to find an announcement from TLG that there is a new set series based on the theme parks and cannot find one. I have found blogs and reports from others speculating that because of the Disney Castle there is a theme park series up and coming, but nothing official from Lego. Is this just speculation because of the castle? Has anyone seen an official announcement?
-
That's a good question. Our local store manager said it should be around for the Christmas season. Experts here on the boards say longer. The Lego customer service rep said she had no idea and would only tell me that the set was flying out of the warehouse. My gut feeling is that it will be like 10188 and sell for years but will be "Out of stock" quite often. It will be interesting to watch how this set sells. The Disney CMF's are definitely coming back in Sept (so says the customer service rep) but who knows how long they will be in stock. I was going to wait until later to purchase with double VIP points, but couldn't take the pressure.

I don't know where to start. A big thanks for the tip on page 360 is a good place I guess. Thank you. But now I'm looking at all my Lego sets thinking - Should i really reassemble all of them because the Lego print is askew? (Yes -I checked - all kinds of askewed!). My castle gets here tomorrow - could start on that one and work my way backwards. The TB is half way built now, it could be taken apart and made perfect. Or I could just admit there is someone on the planet who is more anal than myself and settle with it. But I think we both know that's not gonna happen. Why did you do this to me? Whyyyyyyyy! The Tumbler is gonna be a nightmare.
