Someone locally was selling these classic sets: 575-coast guard 370-police headquarters 190-farm 50-Universal building set all for ONLY $40 (with box and instructions) It was only posted 3 hours ago,and as I phoned ,I held my breath. "Hi,are the lego sets still available?" "No,sorry they sold" Shi*,Fuc*,Shi* My heart sank!!

Thats nuts!! It makes no sense that you can get it cheaper than someone who owns a store. Unless there are a lot of people who dont know any better. I would contact that store and show them that you can get it cheaper. Tell them that there are a lot of brazilians who buy lego from ebay/lego online. Maybe they will change their prices and stop raping you guys!

I just saw this post now. I LOVE Stargate!! nd still do. Would a Oneil mini or a Tealc be super nice! It doesnt make sense why there isnt any lego. In terms of episodes....200+ just for SG-1 vs a couple of shows for star wars. I think TLG missed the bus with Stargate....maybe it will happen. Does anyone know who owns the rights to stargate....I want to buy it!!!

Search walmart.ca for this # 788549 I was lucky to get the last 2 at my local store. Amazing deal considering TRU sells it for $55

Not going to start my own store. I was just wondering because lego is perceived as expensive.....but how expensive is it really after stores add their cut? Thats why I was after the markup.

Heres what I got. I want everyone to guess how much I paid. 4957:With box and instructions....about a dozen pcs missing but it still stands and still turns. 7259:With box and instructions 4095:With box and instructions I also got a tupperware with about 3000pcs.....so far ive seen about 6 minifigs. Guess away....hopefully I made the right decision

I checked http://www.justbricks.com.au/ and there prices are cheaper than here in canada. everything is cheaper in the states. Without starting a rant.....gas is 1.35 a liter.....just 1 hour south(to the states..by car) gas is like 90cents.

Another awesome thing about lego is the fact that you can use bricks from 1970's sets in your sets released this year. Especially now days where you have to buy a new copy of windows/office every year. Or a new computer/laptop with the latest cpu or more ram. You could go on and on with examples. but Your simple beautiful lego from 1970 will still work today!!! They are always in style too!!!

Does anyone know how much a store would pay for Lego?(toys r us....walmart.....target etc etc) How much is their markup actually??

Another way to look at it is like this: For what you paid for your lego versus how much has its depreciated....its a good investment.(forget the stock market ) You can get at least 70% of your money back.....sometimes double. Lego is the BEST thing ever....PERIOD!!(besides the f*ing coolness of it) I spent $45 on a fisher price garage for my son......I cant even sell the thing for $10 now. Its even a better investment than your "new" car that you drive off the lot. 10 years from now when you sell your car....youd only make about 10% back what you paid for it. Theres no ways that a lego set from 10 years ago(that cost $100) is now selling for $10(800pcs for $10) Back then it was 12 cents a piece,and today it stil holds close to that value.(the current price per brick keeps your old sets retain value)

Im going to get a lot of criticism for this reply.....but its based on 1 simple fact....dont forget this while reading. Im guessing this applies to 90% of the worlds population. The problem isnt the lego prices going up(if infact they might be) The REAL REAL problem is that you arent making enough $$$....simple as that. Find a way to make more money instead of complaining about it. Im a painfully average joe working 8-5 without a degree making a painfully average wage. BUT I know what the real problem is,and im trying to do something about it. I dont care if it takes me until 80,im never going to stop trying to make more money. If you are complaining about buying a $100 set,thats a serious problem. Rish people PISS $100 bills. Johnny Depp made roughly $300million in the past couple of years....I dont think he would complain about dropping 12k a year on lego. This is the matrix ladies and gentelman....we are all brainwashed!!!
