  1. Excellent thanks for the link! (Time to go buy more than I could possibly need off BL >.> )
  2. Is the piece that connects the claws to Rocka's hand new? (The bit with the crossbar to connect the green claws too and the axle port) Certainly looks like a really nice part but I'm not sure I have seen that anywhere yet
  3. I was feeling a bit nostalgic(If 2006 is nostalgic 0.o) yesterday and decided to throw together a little Exo Force MOC. The first EF set I ever recieved was in fact Stealth Hunter, so I decided to re-innovate that. -----------------Full Gallery HERE---------------- Please note I have some Bricklink Shopping to do quite soon. There's a few spots on here which have some preliminary parts on. The yellow portions on the feet, random trans colored tiles, a lot of color layering on the back, and the lower arms will be completely redone to look more solidified. Obviously the entire build is different from the Stealth Hunter we received 7 (!) years ago; One thing that always bothered me about the original Stealth Hunter was the "wings" They really are more of extra fins to help move in the air, not really a proper method of flight. So On the back of the Mk II I have some (designs to change) rocket boosters to assist in flight. I have also made the iconic shoulder wings on the stealth hunter into a sort of transforming shape. I always thought it would be cool if they were constantly changing while it was flying to increase or decrease speeds The final configuration creates a sort of pod shape, meant to be the result when the Stealth Hunter is at max speed; Weapons are going to be scraped pretty quick, really need to rethink those Being that it is still in the works, comments are appreciated. A couple points I know people will mention; Too much gray (Need BL Orders) Blue pins on forearms are distracting(Have white versions that I'll place in soon) Random bits of color (Need to get those parts in the proper colors) And I'll do some restructuring and some more work all around, but so far I'm happy with how it is turning out. And for the more observant of you, you may notice the torso in the pic with Hikaru standing on the ground in front of it looks almost like a small ship; Something that will become more prominent in the Mk III. I really did like Exo Force, shame it came to such a quick end. VBBN
  4. What exactly is going on with the turbines on Jet Machine? They really don't look much like flamethrowers or anything so I'm a bit confused as to what they are supposed to be.
  5. Over complicated things a bit at the start, was going to have Santa Yoda (a raffle winning from the last time we had an Xmas raffle, won on the 24th and got some bonus figs. Hence why I really wanted to fit them into my entry, but alas) sledding down a snow slope but it got a bit huge and ridiculous. So I scaled down to a warm little house The base is a round black construct created with some slopes. And yes I put a little light in there to add a bit of life to it. (There's this really cool ornament we have that is one of those glass blown ones, it's a large round ornament with a clear section that you can see through the ornament to the other side where there is a little painted winter house. I position this ornament in front of one of the lights on my tree at christmas and it lights up the house windows. Gave me a bit of inspiration to work a light into here.) I actually might turn this into a proper ornament if I make a few Bricklink purchases for ore white slops to carry around the entire base on top of the black sections as shown on the front, however the front is the segment where the SNOT studs are protruding, so the side might take a bit of reworking (And trust me the other side of this is a bit chaotic to get the light there...this was the best angle VBBN
  6. Invasion from below: Massive kaiju break the surface to raid the Pirate heroes of their booty Though the datapad idea is nice, I have a feeling a cheese slope hanging off of a minifigures arm is going to look a bit strange. However with added details like that, it makes me curious as to what the purpose of them is. Any fanfic writer might like to change things up and say that the datapads can control the Mechs when the Heroes aren't in them. However I'd like to see a more detailed datapad included on the heroes when they become large once more. And with the "treasure chest" container you can see little black nubs hanging off, I'm guessing those are the 3 long pin/axle port like the Piraka had to hold their tails in place, acting as a hinge, so most certainly two pieces.
  7. Interesting, there is a five below not too far from my work, I'll drop by there on Saturday and see if they have anything of interest. Nice find!
  8. Certainly nice to see a bit more variety in the villains gender. Though it really doesn't make a major difference, not really sure how they could have accentuated the gender much either way, the figure really could pass as male or female. And being that these villains are just "beasts" or mammals, they don't really show much in the way of a gender specific personality.
  9. In regards to the heads they are most likely printed, I don't see any reason for them not to be. Though I can't say I'm a fan of yet another wave of villains without any sort of lit eyes. (Brains were certainly red but I just didn't like the look in comparison to a standard trans-eye piece.) Printed faces can add some character to the eyes themselves, but doesn't add much dimension to the face as a whole. based on what I can make out from those photos, the head pieces don't look too overly complicated in design, whereas the pictures at the top of the bags show some seriously detailed kaiju. A little disappointment that this massive detail will most likely be missed in the molding and instead incorporated into the face print.
  10. Thanks for that blast of the past arc1999! It's really cool to see some of the lesser known Bionicle branded products once in a while. I actually don't believe I ever saw this game back in 2006, the only game I remember seeing was that one from the early years of Bionicle, the 2001-2002ish one I believe. It's especially interesting to see the designs of the figure pieces in this game. At first I thought they were actual minifigures and was curious as to the unique colored elements they contained, but as I can see now they are solid blocks of plastic. Slightly disappointing, but I can't expect too much from a board game I suppose. VBBN
  11. Well, this is an interesting change. If they are indeed 2-in-1 models I might pick some of these up. Mainly this one here for that hooded hairpiece
  12. Just the cover itself looks stunning! Thanks for that review Blakbird Classic space will always be my favorite genre of space, I'll for sure be getting this book when I can find it. Also very glad to hear it is a hardcover! 25$ for a 200+ page hardcover sounds like an acceptable price to me.

Forgot I had posted that here, At the moment my only other plans are to black out the ford logos with the plasti dip and apply these small outlines of Decep. logos to finish off the exterior. Interior I'm planning on installing purple underdash lights for local shows and such. (Again it's only a lease so I'm a bit limited. The underdash lights are most likely going to be a pain to run properly to hide the wires correctly because I can't do much wire rerouting but i'll see what I can do.) And @ep3_lol Looks like it was a good time!
  14. Apologies but I really don't see the point in having this thread, If I am correct, the point of this thread is for users to share their 2014 HF MOCs in. Most users will prefer to post their creations in their own threads to receive feedback and comments, which is the purpose the forum itself is there for. Posting it here is going to get clustered very quickly, with people commenting over each other. If the purpose of the thread is to help promote your 2014 inspired MOCs, then the mocist can simply drop the hint into the 2014 discussion topic. Not the entire full set of pictures, mind you, but if you want to drop in a teaser picture and say "based off of the Mechs" and a link to the topic, then I really see no problem with it myself. That is why the tradition of a yearly discussion topic exists. And I'm not entirely sure cross referencing all of your MOCs onto Facebook instead of sharing the pictures on the forum itself is a very good idea. As Kalmahiczek said, not everyone has a Facebook account, and even those who do have one are not likely to go to the trouble of joining the group itself, when their are many more alternatives that provide better resources. Flickr for example, gives you an option to create groups, and you can more easily share, comment , and view photo streams. There are already thousands of groups related to constraction themes on Flickr, if you want to host a group you should try to make it as unique as you can to draw people in. Posting your MOCs in such a way as you are now is going to make them very easily overlooked. EDIT: That is your only way of sharing the photos? May I ask why? Given that if you can upload a photo to Facebook, surely you can upload it or recopy it to another photo hosting site, such as Brickshelf or Flickr? VBBN
  15. I do have one quick question, if anyone knows the answer. I'm filing NPB alerts against a couple of buyers who have failed to submit payment past my 1 month maximum hold date. When I go to the problem orders page to submit the alert, it gives me the option of what to file and has a 'comments' box. Is that comments box visible by the buyer once the alert is filed? I want to give a personal message along with the alert but i'm not sure just where that comment box is going. VBBN
  16. Right scale? With what? And in regards to the Witch Doctor minifig concept; Having a minifig larger than another could be entirely possible, Look at mars Mission, the aliens vs the alien commander. Granted the alien commander was far superior in design and the alien was a bit smaller to begin with, but it was still a fantastic way of showing a huge difference between two minifigures. 17. Oh. Well this is awkward In that case, excellent; Perhaps all of these first wave villains will use trans light blue and we will see a different color in the second wave?
  18. 4 pages back But If we are in fact getting trans limbs, I actually hope it's in a trans light blue not a trans azure of some sort. Would be a bit easier to use
  19. Welcome back Antrozek! Some interesting things here, the red design is really cool, paired with those colors it's almost a new Iron man suit than anything. Also that blue face is really nice, sort of like a "vow of silence" mask as it looks to cover the mouth in a way where he wouldn't talk.
  20. Loving this wave. Whichever character is the girl in black with the colored hair (I know she's in the movie as a main character but I always forget the name) and fan is calling my name. Also LOVING that new mermaid
  21. If you are going the paint route I would go with Alcad II lacquer mixed with Tamiya chrome silver that is mixed to the same consistency. I've used it on custom transformers in the past and it looks fantastic. It's a bit darker than what Sariel has there, but as long as you want chrome parts, it's a decent route to go down. Can't make any gurantees about preventing chipping though if you go with paint, especially on studded parts and whatnot.
  22. I do wonder if those spider-lings are final colorizations; The white pin connecting their two halves suggests the return of the C&G white 2mm axles or friction/axle pin. That or it's tan implying a loose friction/axle pin I suppose
  23. Winter sets usually seem a lot more finalized than summer sets from what I've seen. At least in Bionicle, Hero Factory I'm not entirely sure.
  24. I can't think of a year where we didn't analyze sets like this and I don't intend on it changing anytime soon. In about 2 days it's going to wind down and just be arguing about some aspect of the designs that someone noticed once more, that's how it goes. And that's why we are the best subform on Eurobricks
  25. Evo Walker: When I first saw this, I really didn't think "walker" I thought tripod turret. And unless they completely redo this thing, that's all it's ever going to be. What's clear to me is two yellow legs providing two points of articulation, a gray one in the back, a mounted plasma shooter, a few lights mounted on the armor shells, and a cockpit that's going to be pretty damn empty on the sides, or leave his legs exposed. (A better question is, why is it open in the first place? Not very good protection there...) The set itself looks to be rather boring; Sure it's a change of pace from standard builds, but did we really need an entire extra set for this? I would have preferred that they gave evo XL an option to deploy a turret similar to this. If evo xl turns out to be a decent set, I can't see many people getting this other than for parts of the minifigure (which is already in two other sets as it is) The one good thing I can see here is that the set has 3 spiders. If they turn out to be really cool little things, this might be a great way to obtain a decent amount of them. Now let's keep a tally: 1 green spider, 1 red, 1 orange, 1 evo. Evo XL: The massive confidential logo is a really great addition to the set. mainly because it hides the set itself. Though it's difficult to see what's going on here, what I can see, I don't like. Firstly, the biggest gripe that I will never forgive this set for is the color scheme. Trans green? Seriously? Is it going to kill you do give us trans dark blue? Or even trans neon orange I don't care, just enough with this trans green. My main issue with it is that the set is unforgivably similar to something Rocka would use. The trans green, and yellow being so close to gold, it's just not a good combo. With that said, Evo can fly now, as you can see by his completely dangling legs. Next, the big green tank on his back; I'm standing behind my idea that this is used as a capturing device for the spiders, and it'll probably be best on this figure do to the figures size. (I'm really worried that it's going to stick out like crazy on the back though regardless.) Flick fire missiles look okay, and I do like the "spotlight" they gave him. Tally: 1 red spider, 1 orange, 1 evo Breez and Flyerbeast: Breez herself looks good, at least based on the tiny headsculpt you can make out. Flyerbeast isn't the best; With wings like those, this guy is staying grounded. Colors are okay, not liking how much yellow there is this wave. That weapon..I really hope they make a more convincing radio tower weapon, because as it is right now, that looks absolutely terrible. What is in his other hand, though? A huge claw or another piece of the antenna? Tally: 1 breez Furno Jet Machine: Very similar to breakout furno with those turbine pieces. The torso and upper back look great; My complaint is those arms. The entire lower arms is just a standard furno flamepiece. Also there seems to be a codpiece, a nice detail and I'm guessing that is where furno's feet go. Tally: 1 green spider, 1 furno Stormer and Jawbeast: I think it's obvious a lot of people want this because of it's colors, and I do agree that having azure and purple is a great combination. The set looks fairly simple due to the price point, but I'm actually really liking it. The feet pieces look quite cool, and the new "claw" is going to be interesting for MOCing. Not much to say other than that, I ll be picking this one up for sure. tally: 1 stormer Rocka Stealth machine: Well...Rocka GoldBling and Thundersteps the Mech. Dubbing that the name of this right now. Honestly this is not stealthy looking, I'm going to guess he has some "super special stealth coating" that makes him quiet so spider can't see him until his golden armor is dancing in the sunlight to invite the spiders to a Rocka disco party. Ahem. I actually like this guy. It's a really nice mech design, being bulky and not over complicating things. I can see a four clawed hand, presumably for catching the spiders and putting them in the tank on his back. Now one thing that I will be doing, is swapping out that trans green plastic I've never really liked gold with that plastic. I'll most likely grab a second stormer, and swap out the tank and cockpit for trans light blue, then use the claws from ice beast to replace that hand. tally: 1 Rocka, 1 red spider Splitter Beast: I'm still standing strong to my idea that this is two beasts. His name is splitter He splits. If he was a two headed figure, he would simply be Split beast or "the two headed beast of the Caribbean. Ahoy heroes I be bitin' yer booty" And you can clearly see bent limbs on the lower right hand side of his torso, a claw piece up on his left side. In the picture on the top, you can see that the orange beast has a Y shaped hand of sorts, like the "wings" on splitter beast. So the ehad is closest to those, being the hands. Then you can clearly see the a claw on that torso on the right. Here, I even cropped and zoomed the photo; http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5491/10555921325_bac4068b26_o.png Just like the orange figure's feet in the photo. I don't think there is any doubt this thing splits. Other than that, the set looks nice. tally: 1 evo, 1 furno Stormer: The best for last. This guy looks great, I'm always a huge fan of that color scheme and the design is really quite cool. The "chicken leg" mech leg design looks really fitting, and the set looks to support the spider cage fairly well. Out of all of the mechs, this one also has the most solid lower torso design, underneath the cockpit. other than that, there isn't much to complain about here from what I can see at the moment. tally: 1 red spider, 1 orange, 1 stormer So for the tally's, ______ 2 green spiders, 4 red spiders, 3 orange spiders, 3 evos, 2 furnos, 2 stormers, 1 breez, 1 rocka I'm hoping they do something similar to what they did with the brains, where we have red orange and green the first wave, then see shades of blue, maybe purple in the next wave. We also only have 5 of the heros, I'm really hoping that they don't duplicate any in the next wave (I'm going to die if we get ANOTHER evo) so that we can get the rest of the heroes. If this is a one shot deal with the minifigures, I want as many heroes as possible.
