  1. Very nice scene. The trees and the rock work are really cool
  2. Nice display of color on the ground, this mixed style works well. I'm very curious of how will the tree looks at the end. The mill already looks very clever
  3. That's incredible... I have trouble to imagine all the time and all the stuff put into this huge build... Amazing display for sure. And all those wonderful fig.
  4. @Mister Phes And the whole idea started from the original picture, as I said to myself "California rhyme with Tortuga : let' s build a hotel"
  5. Thanks to all who took part, I wish we had some more builder next time. A prize should never be a goal, the fun to build is a sufficient reward
  6. Thanks all for the kind words. I'm now, thinking about a song contest . And I will probably have some more stuff to pick from music. Do you know Alestorm ?
  7. I'm very jealous of your minifigs !! But, however, this is a nice fort for sure. What is this feather ? I have never seen it before
  8. Wow ! Good rock work and nice idea for the sea shore, it took me some time to realize it was tiled rather than snoted. I love this timber shack
  9. I love the band. Nice idea to mix the sets
  10. On a dark deserted shore, cool wind in my hair. : Warm smell of colitas, rising up to the air. : up ahead in a distance, I saw a shimmering light My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim I had to stop for the night : There she stood in the doorway, I heard a mission bell And I was thinking to myself This could be Heaven or this could be Hell : Then she lit up a candle : And she showed me the way there were voices down the corridors, I thought I heard them say : Welcome to the Hotel in Tortuga : such a lovely place (such a lovely place) such a lovely face Plenty of room at the Hotel in Tortuga Anytime of year (anytime of year), you can find it here. : Her mind is Tiffany-twisted, she got a nice ship class eight : She's got a lot of pretty, pretty boyz, she calls friends : How they dance in the courtyard, sweet summer sweat : Some dance to remember, some dance to forget. : So I called up the captain : "please bring me my wine" : he said : "We haven't had that spirit here since 599" And still those voices coming from far away... : wake you up in the middle of the night Just to hear them say : Welcome to the Hotel in Tortuga such a lovely place (such a lovely place) Such a lovely face. : They're living it up at the Hotel in Tortuga What a nice surprise Bring your alibies Mirrors on the ceiling Pink champagne on ice And she said We are all just prisoners here Of our own device : And in the master's chamber, they gathered for the feast : They stab it with there steely knives : But they just can't kill the beast : Last thing I remember, : I was running for the door I have to find a passage back to the place I was before. : Relax said the nightman : we are programmed to receive : You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave ! Ouf, finished. Tribute to the Eagles and the wonderful "Hotel California" This is a subject on which I was struggling for a long time, I'm pretty happy on how it turned. C&C welcome as usual. Even if I didn't count the footprint, I'm pretty sure it will fit for a large property, but a large property of what ?? I will think about this, but that was not the goal. This succession of builds was to try some technic for the walls, the floors, etc, etc. And when I decided to mimic the Hotel California song, I must confess that the most difficult stuff to build was... this f**cking double shafted guitar played by Don Felder To my surprise, the member of the band were pretty easy to mimic : : Henley : Frey : Leadon : Walsh and : Felder
  11. Really nice "copy of Ayrlego style" but you add enough personnal twist for sure ! As already said you have a knack with vegetation, and the dirty/smooth transition in front of the door is brilliant. That's a cute little house.
  12. This one is really impressive, despite too cute, too smart and too magnificent for a cesspit like Black Rock. I think that the only settlements to deserve such a build aren't Sea Rats. This kind of awesome build fit for a capital city or a grand city with a knack for culture, showing off and civilization ( i-e : exit Mesabi Landing ).
  13. This one is killer. Well thought the energy effect for the swirl
  14. Rummaging around in the grass searching for my jaw. I was going to see Black Rock as a den of debauchery, violence and sin, like the pirates capitol in PotC. Perhaps a real mad scientist could explain the R&D center, but this time we have to search a mad dramatist bursting with dough.
  15. What a nice idea @Darnok I'll take the 20th. Thread updated
  16. Wow, I never thought to use duplo for the backgrounds... this is the Duplo knight castle 4777 isn't it ? It works well. Also nice display of minifig... Some parts must be very rare
  17. in this case that OK. For a micro this is an especially nice one
  18. that's the point and I have to insist on the size according to the rules I'm afraid. Nice build however
  19. An amazing build once again. Great tower. The base and the floor are impressive too.
  20. Now you do this with Alestorm... you can even reuse a minifig . Really nice idea and nice display.
  21. My bad ! This is however a great news for me, I will have a look to this thread. (I love LDD and dislike stud.io) Many thanks
  22. I just had the same problem too (2 weeks ago). Thanks @BrokenEye for the link to the solution thread, I will try this evening.
  23. I'm afraid LDD isn't supported anymore. Try Stud.io which could still be updated
