  1. South East of Soalon, in a verdant jungle corner (in J13 to be precise), nowadays Dr Thaumescu : Check if we are heading to the road, I need this bridge guys ! Popovitch : That's an old trail, doctor, recently traveled by two-wheelers, it probably heads right to the road ! Dr Thaumescu : Fine, any news of Gallaghanski ? Popovitch : Negative, doctor. Machkov : Doctor, we've just received orders for eliminating a target. Dr Thaumescu : Oh, a new job. They are OK with the usual price ? Machkov : This is not a contract, doctor, we received an order ! Dr Thaumescu : An order ?!! Who dared to send me an order ? My nephew or the HQ ? Impossible, Callaghanski told me that Dobrovolski was in charge ! What's the hell going on ?!! Machkov : No doctor, this is an order from the League... Dr Thaumescu : The league ? which league ? Machkov : The Kriviyat League of Republics that Romgaria belongs to. Dr Thaumescu : Oh, those who have to foot the bill for Romgaria, I see... So, what do those little blighters want with me ? Machkov : I transfer you the file. Dr Thaumescu : Thank you, and remind me to address this problem of league which is sending me orders. I wouldn't do to make an habit of it ! No kidding ! Machkov : Copy that, doctor. C&C welcome as usual, this is my move toward J13 for October.
  2. Here's my last micro ship class 4 earned as a prize for last challenge. the brig Ponant : Flying the black, of course.
  3. @MetallFanYT Sure this si possible, everyone is always welcome.
  4. The link with the dedicated subject in the pirates MOCs forum : Here it is
  5. Great shaping... Er... I'm puzzled by some LBG parts of the bow, the rounded ones. Were are they from ?
  6. This hull shaping is very cool, especially the stern ! Great !
  7. That's the point !
  8. @Mister Phes : I use NO social network. So no instagram, no facebook, no flickr, etc etc MOC photos are only on EB.
  9. There are no dummy gunport... the foremost is just the most painful to open. As already displayed, there are 6 midparts : I would have been scolded by my wife if I didn't use those medium blue bricks... so it was almost mandatory Thanks for the cabin
  10. Ship started 2 years ago, from a pic from @Maxim I , @Sebeus I or @kurigan I don't remember. The color comes from a bunch of medium blue bricks I received from my wife for the "turquoise wedding". the rigging and those damned shrouds were a pain, restarted many times before coming up with something acceptable. I like my flags and there are more to come.
  11. These are probably strongly inspired by the Grenouille frigate ( See on youtube) even if I don't use the same parts and the same technic. Thanks for the kind words. Thank you mate ! Thank you comrade... the cartoonish flag is the admiral pennant ( the one of the doctor Thaum ) the orher is the black flag of the Magnetic North itself @Ross Fisher @NOD thank you guys
  12. No, you are free to use whatever pics you want to post if you're willing so. I don't use Instagram, Flickr or Facebook.
  13. @Mister Phes : for the sails I used those templates (from the frigate Hermione) I have templates for each sails of the Hermione. Just have to put it on the scale. The sails are made of white cardstock sheets of paper, 24 x 32 cm sized (I don't know if this match any anglo saxon format). The lining hemed part is a double layer of paper (one very narrow and carefully cut and pasted on the sail) which is colored in blue with a felt-tip pen. The sail seams are made with lead pencil and a ruler, so are rows of reefs (but much more thick). The compass rose was printed on the paper by... a PC printer. And the holes at the corners are made with a single puncher.
  14. in fact there are 6 carronades on the lower deck and 12 standard guns. On the main deck this is a Paixhans gun ( the most powerful blackpowder gun - able to smash a tower or to crush a ship wall with a single blow ) She will be licenced as a class 7 frigate.
  15. The colour scheme is my wife's idea/fault... I received a bunch of "turquoise" lego brick's for our "turquoise wedding" so I had to use them
  16. Gangways : Lantern :
  17. Other pics : the captain's cabin : with rack for naval maps : and, the door : Yeah, I know, I'm a old timer... I work old-fashioned way
  18. It was not taken as a criticism, . But I was prepared to answer about some influences.
  19. Indeed, I was very interested by that ship, but I'm afraid this is not my main inspiration. I started from some old pics describing a ship tumblehome - I can't remember who send me those pics ( many years ago ) but with @Maxim I, @Sebeus I or @kurigan I'm probably very close to the origin ( and those pics certainly inspired the Grenouille ). There are many, many, many tips I borrowed in this ship, from many builders ( too many to remember who ) but there are still many ideas from my own. To be honest, I have a bigger ship WIP with that kind of hull, and it was started 5 or 6 years ago (so before the Grenouille was posted/created - But sure the Grenouille is a wonderful ship ! No doubt !)
  20. Hi, this the topic dedicated to my last frigate. A 2 years job, with many restart. These are the final shots, more a coming later on. I will post all the pics I took during the whole time of the building later on. Enjoy ! guns, mortar and caronnades. Bottom holds the number of prefabs The Magnetic North size compared to a coming ship (expect some months though)
  21. North shore of Tortuga, nowadays. This is the Magnetic North, without the low sails, sailing close on a northwester wind to round the reefs of shipwreck bay... The jib just bursted out requiring a sailor on the bowsprit to cut the sheets. Capt Bluebeard : Hurry up ! You, jailbirds ! Man the working ropes ! Trim on ! Freshwater swabs ! Callaghan : Apparently, he's got a real temper ! Dr Thaum : Sure Callaghan, I need this strong temper at the head of the Magnetic North. Especially for that kind of destination. *** Iauln : We are sailing north, mister Church, and we are sailing 8 knots close hauled ! I love this ship ! Church : Yes, my little man, nice start of the trip. ****** Two years of building, the most of time was wasted on those bloody shrouds ( to the devil with them !!! ) This the less bad render I come up with (for the shrouds). For the ship, I'm quite pleased, and a even little bit proud of the result. Thanks to my friend Charly for the pics (he's a professionnal photographer ) C&C welcome as usual, and there will be a more complete thread on the Pirate MOCs Forum.
  22. Wow ! Awesome ! What a display !
  23. Really nice micro, well done. The bridge despite simple is a clever idea.
  24. Despite an impressive display of new/rare parts, making you a spoilt rich brat, that's a very impressive shack, with some good idea/technic used here. I'm puzzled by thoses trees but... it works.
  25. A peaceful oxbow, south east of Soalon. : Big Fish to Groomer, heavy current but the operation goes its way ! Dr Thaumescu : Groomer to Big Fish, fine, we are unloading here. Carry on with reconnaissance ! Callagahnski : Copy that, Groomer ! Just a question however. Why a pocket submarine disguised as a koi carp instead of a standard akula ? Dr Thaumescu : This kind of submarine is as efficient as an akula to route stealth underwater commando squad, it is less detectable, and the most important, if things go south, it is much more easier to lay that off on an Ocean Marine Organization. Callaghanski : That makes sense Groomer, over ! C&C welcome, this build for the K13 square. bonus underwater background
