  1. The figure overall isn't bad & nice to see a new pirate minifig...but it is ugly in the face all day long. All the older lady pirate figures were awesome...but this one sucks. If I end up getting it, I'm definitely replacing the head. This face can be used for an ugly step sister minifig like in Shrek 2.
  2. Holy crap!!!...the awesomeness & the detail!!!
  3. I'd love to see it... but doubtful as a set. Only seen MOCs of it.
  4. Yet another great idea. That's cool. MacGyver would be great.
  5. It may not be to scale...but I think it is looking pretty great.
  6. Very creative. Sweet builds.
  7. Nice build. Luv the backstory.
  8. That is pretty cool. A Lego version of Mahjong would be neat too.
  9. This is just amazing!!! Love all the intricate detail.
  10. Ditto. This is pretty awesome. Made me think of LOTRs as well.
  11. Still waiting on a classic pirate reboot myself. Classic Space or Space Police would be great too. Sad that Pharaoh's Quest & Monster Fighters only lasted for 1 year. I liked those too.
  12. Very nice build. Love all the intricate details. Brings me lots of nostalgia for classic castle sets.
  13. Huge nostalgia factor for me. I'd luv to see them again. However, I don't see them returning to production anytime soon. I hit up eBay or Bricklink to increase my inventory of the classic ones.
  14. This is badass!!! Always loved this theme. I think a neat project would be to build an Ice Planet 2002 inspired coast guard cutter. There are a lot of great spaceships or land cruisers out there...but I think something water-based would be cool too. Or maybe something Ice Planet 2002 in style with a little Captain Harlock thrown in.
  15. Awesome build. Nostalgia for days.
  16. This is awesome!!! I wouldn't mind seeing a return of gas station sets like these in the City theme.
  17. This is just plain old awesome!!! I luv where your head's at.
  18. I find it kind of funny that this thread cropped up as I was talking/ranting to friend about the same thing before this thread started. I said that it kind of stinks that the Lego web forums I frequent have dwindled in activity as of late. I am someone who loved Lego as a kid & came out of their dark age in 2009 because of the resurgence of the pirate theme. I've been lurking here for years but only officially joined a couple years ago. I don't participate online much due to being busy in my personal life. This is just my 2 cents regarding this topic... I tend to agree with a lot of what others have already commented on within this thread. I think the lack of activity is a multifaceted problem. I think it is due to the growth in popularity of Lego (a natural evolution in how the community communicates), a natural evolution of the Internet & the popular tools available/preferred for communication, & due to changes in society as a whole. I also think it has to do with our own growth as unique individuals & other responsibilities we have in our lives. Overall, this board is one of my favorites as well as 3-4 others I frequent...but all sites seem to be dwindling in activity...not just here. I agree that places like Facebook have become more popular than traditional web forums. In my observations on this board & others I frequent, there is a lot of elitism that exists which turns new folks off to participation. This type of interaction, even once, can turn someone off completely. Lack of participation could also be due to real life responsibilities (work, home life, school, etc.). I know I research & observe others' creations more than I build on my own. I am a huge Lego fan & buy parts or sets all the time...but I buy more than I build. So, I scour the Internet to see what everyone else is doing or to understand cool building techniques more than I actually build. I don't think there is a simple solution other than continuing forward in a positive, welcoming, & inclusive fashion.
