It was a good year for Disney movies. I'd probably put them up there.

The Probowl is pointless if it is not played after the Superbowl. Otherwise you do not get the best performances from the Superbowl players (who are probably the best players). The best defense usually does win, but the rules are getting more and more in favour of the offense.

I acquired Battle of Alamut and another Fight for the Dagger from the PoP series.

I love the design of the wall with the gate. It looks like the kind of wall you would see on some of the older Estates in the UK.

i purchased another Battle for the dagger to boost my tan bricks count.

That is a beautiful build. I look forward to seeing an extended version

Bond and Disney are good calls. There's so much in those themes to work with. Bond has loads of cars, volcano lair, underwater lair, space station, and pretty much every exotic location around the globe. And London. Where to start with Disney? You could do it theme park based. The regular visitors to WDW and DLR seem to have endless supplies of cash, and tend to buy a lot of official merch. Lego sets of the various attractions would do well (especially the likes of the Castles and the Haunted Mansion. My personal dream series would be Big Trouble in Little China: Pork Chop Express - Big truck w/ Jack Burton and Wang Chi and monster minifigs. Alley Way Showdown - Alley way street battle scene w/ 2 Chang Sing fighters, 2 Wing Kong fighters and Lightning. Egg Shen's Tour Bus - Yellow Tour Bus w/ Egg Shen, Uncle Chu, Gracie and Tourist Wedding Ceremony - Big Skull with steps, and lift entrance w/ Lo Pan, Wang in alternate attire, Miao Yin, Wing Kong in ceremonial armour, Rain and Chang Sing warrior Throne Room - Looks of statues, big gong w/ David Lo Pan, Thunder, Gracie Law in Wedding attire, Jack Burton alternate attire Wing Kong Prison - Prison cells, bridge w/ Eddie, Margo, 2 prison guards Lords of Death - Red car w/ 3 gang members Army Builder - A wall extension to Alley way showdown w/2 chang sings, 2 wing kongs, weapons and a barrel and crate

Very eerie. It reminds me of a location in a game, although I can't think off the top of my head which one it is...

The Brian Michael Bendis early 2000s one. I didn't even realise they had done a more recent one. I haven't gotten as far as Miles Morales yet, but I wasn't sure about the change when I first heard it.

I loved the WWII setting from the Captain America movie, so I will be looking forward to seeing this.

AoM Store Phase Two - Fool and the Dragon
Lord Butters replied to Jodocus's topic in Guilds of Historica
Excellent. I love the black and white houses as opposed to the more traditional brown and another colour. The dragon puppet was also a great idea. -
Recruiting an Old Friend - Challenge 1C

This is a beautiful build. The opening shot with the tower of the background out of focus is a great bit of photography. -
I'm a huge SW fan and I never got the hype with Boba Fett either. He had a cool mask... and I think that's about his entire character back story done!

Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Lord Butters replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
Introducing Drake Kantor, legitimate business man, explorer, and acquirer of rare items. Born in Varlyrio, to a Blacksmith and the Avalonian daughter of an Alchemist, Drake was raised in the business of trade. Seeking greater fortunes than what his family business could supply, he left his family in the search of wealth. hearing of the stories of great riches in Kaliphlin he headed to the region. Kantor is a ruthless trader, often willing to bend or break the laws for profit. Distrusting of others, he has a policy of shoot first, and run quickly at the first sign of trouble/or suspicion. However, if the situation calls for it (such as a drunken card game gone wrong) he is happy to start swinging his fists or sword. While seemingly a greedy, sneaky character, he does have some more humane traits. A speaker of several languages, and a seasoned traveler, he holds no grudges or prejudices against others. Also, if you can manage to gain his trust, you will have a loyal friend for eternity. He also follows the family motto "Always stay true to your promises". As a result, he is the go to guy for many merchants and traders in Kaliphlin, as he can be relied upon to return with the goods. I hope to acquire a few more tan tiles and bricks to start building some MOC's to show his story. He is based on and heavily influenced by lovable rogues such as Han Solo, Jack Burton and Indiana Jones. -

It's funny you mention stickers. I was really impressed with the woid effect stickers that came with Laketown. I intend to acquire some more. I also forgot that Pharoahs ever existed! I will have a look. -
Is this the Seahawks second Superbowl since the stadium opened? Or was the loss to the Steelers earlier than I thought. Not to go off topic, but the Sounders are the best run team in the States. They could easily dominate. Amazing fans as well.

What Lego-related thing did you do today?
Lord Butters replied to Savage Oppress's topic in Community
Took some photos of my GoH character. Hopefully ill get them up tonight. -
I think Manning can do it. I really want him to get a second Superbowl. I was so happy he won vs the Pats. However Seattle are going to keep the scoring chances to a minimum, so the receivers are going to decide if Broncos win or not.

This build is so cool! Where is the purple from? Is it that new friends theme? I think it really stands out from the rest of the build, which can sometimes be difficult when building interiors.

I think your use of words can influence what people think. By saying "I play with Lego" does not give the same impression as "I design models using Lego".

I could never really afford comics as a child, and I hate joining a series mid way through. So I always bought graphic novels and stand-alones instead. However, I've started buying the collections of Ultimate Spider Man and it is excellent. I like the artwork, I like how the characters are portrayed, and the pace is really good.

Generally HBO put out good stuff. I don't think they've ever made anything that wasn't watchable. Even Sex in the City had some good episodes. My favourites were Band of Brothers, Boardwalk Empire and Game of Thrones. I also enjoyed the one series of Luck they made. Other series I like are the Walking Dead. I like that the zombies are the setting, but really aren't all that necessary to the plot. The main antagonists are always other humans. South Park. it's past its best now, but series 5 - 11 were incredible. The Simpsons. Like South Park it's pat its best, but still funny. American Dad. I always liked Family Guy jokes, but the format meant there are very few memorable episodes. American Dad is as funny, but relates its jokes to the story, which results in some really good television. Friends. One of the few shows I watched from start to finish. Time Commanders and Pointless. Probably the two best game shows ever made. One was about being a general, and the other is about useless or "Pointless" information.

What do you expect for the new SW movies?
Lord Butters replied to Onos's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Not much, considering they are still allowing Lucas to interfere with the making of it. Based on the time it is set shouldn't it be the Vuzhan Vong (Spelling?) as the enemies? No doubt they will not stick to the canon and just stick in Darth Vader reincarnated and a new type of stormtrooper. I also expect a lot of overdone, terrible looking special effects, with a nice, clean, Flash Gordon style galaxy, instead of the cool looking used galaxy of the original trilogy. And looking at the casting call they had, I worry we will get a main cast, with a lot of under par talent like the SHIELD television show. I am, however, interested to see how they fit Han, Leia and Luke into the story. As minor supporting characters they might actually work well e.g. 5 minute cameos and no action sequences. I also hope they keep the number of lightsabers to a minimum, and any duels should not try and be Darth Maulesque (it was cool the first time, but the ridiculous saber action gets kind of repetitive after a while). Jedi are far cooler when they are mystical beings like Obi-Wan and Vader, not common, every day sightings like Obi-Wan and Anakin. Or only hope (see what I did there) is that Disney do what they did with the Marvel franchise, and actually get the formula right. Captain America, Iron Man and the Avengers all turned out pretty well (Captain and Iron Man in particular), so there is still some hope that these movies can be an improvement over Episodes I and II (and to a lesser extent III - it was ok in parts). -
That army is missing some siege weapons. You need to get a few of those ladders on the go and a bit of black powder.

Book II Challenge 1 C: Recruiting a Cyclops Tribe

This build is beautiful. The pumpkin patch is my favourite detail.
