Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
0tter replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Is there any reason we haven't seen a butcher yet? With the existing sausage, t-bone and turkey leg moulds, as well as all of the different dogs to build into the story-telling, I can't be alone in wanting this. -

I didn't remember it was a Stegosaurus in the book! I just remember that the point was resolved. -
Jurassic Park/World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Is it just me who's a little bugged by the berries in the one big pile? The design is cute and all, but Harding specifically makes the point in the film that the Triceratops don't eat them, and Ellie comes up empty-handed when she goes looking. I might have to place a couple of grey 1×1 round tiles at the base of the pile. ;) -

You might want to take another look. -
10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
0tter replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
If this becomes a reality I hope that LEGO mutes the colours on the green and red buildings. I think they would look too bright next to the Lion Knights' Castle. I'm very keen to see what becomes of this leak.- 2,976 replies

The lighthouse is too small to display convincingly alongside the Old Fishing Store for me, but I'm wondering if it will work with the Great Fishing Boat.
-
I just bricklinked a couple of CMF tournament knights to switch out the Black Falcons into my MMV & KJ sets.
-
I feel like it won't scale well, but that's okay. I'm more likely to display it with the other Ideas sets than with MMV and KJ anyhow. The knights may wander over though. :)

I voted for this, as I vote for lots of Castle-inspired sets, because I too would like more Castle sets. This definitely feels like a Castle set to me (though I haven't seen detailed images of the minifig prints; but if they are lacking, I will just swap in minifigs from previous sets... as well as chickens, pigs and goats), so I'm very happy with it. Can't wait to see clearer/more detailed images.

I love it. ? I had no reason to expect Black Falcons. Is their livery the same as that of the knight in the Joust set from several years back? I can't make it out.

Lichen doesn't need "dirt" to grow.

How long do Ideas sets typically stick around?
-
Has this set been retired?! I can't find it for sale at any Australian retailer and it's listed as "sold out" on Shop at Home.
-
Wow! Thanks to everyone for posting all the images of the combined sets. It's very helpful. :)

Wait... what? Where was this discussed? I'm picking Harry Potter sets up for my wife and kids, but I'd be tempted by Hogsmeade (based solely on my Universal Studios experience). Wait... GWP is "gift with purchase" right? It'll be tiny. ?

Okay, thanks for that. Seems like a bit of an oversight. Oh well. That will be a little challenge for him to remedy it. :D

I've been collecting the Hogwarts releases for my son for when he "comes of age". He is 6 years old and a big LEGO fan. His mother is a big Harry Potter fan, and has introduced him to the first two books (more, and exposure to the movies, as he gets older). I only just now noticed that none of the sets have the characteristic tower with the "bits" coming off the side (I've done a bit of research and learned that this is Dumbledore's office). I had, naively assumed this was the astronomy tower, so was a little disappointed with the reveal. Is it likely we will see the Headmaster's tower in a subsequent release? Or does the tower in the Great Hall stand in for it, making a more specific release unlikely. Please pardon my Potter ignorance.

I have a second Grand Emporium, so I will add 16 studs worth of it to my existing GE to make up the gap. That's my plan anyway.

The only thing that bothers me about this set is that fact that, owing to the 16 stud arrangement on the left, the lamp-posts will no longer be equidistant if this set is placed between two of the existing modulars. Otherwise I love it. Maybe we will get another 32 +16 set next year that we can utilise to get the lamp-posts back into formation. :)

Well... castle is on the way (and my BLed red crab for the kitchen). Very excited about this one. :)
-
I could get behind a Haunted Mansion... though I think I'd prefer a jungle cruise boat, or a Matterhorn Mountain complete with bobsleds and yeti.
-
Are there fish included in the build of the kitchen? Since learning it is supposed to be inspired by the Little Mermaid I need to make sure it includes Les Poissons. If not I will have to scavange some from other sets.
-
Yay... it's not just me. Has there been any word of upcoming promotional products on Shop at Home? I'm ready to pull the trigger on this one, but have no use for the Police Chase Race product that is currently acompanying purchases (at least, in Australia). And I would kick myself if there was an actual Disney polybag or something available next/later. Maybe when the castle is available to everyone?
-
Well... now I need to bricklink a little red crab for that kitchen (I would never have picked that, and we just watched The Little Mermaid the other day).
