  1. If you could put the coffee and hot water dispensers on the back rather than front and put some condiment dispensers in front that might work, also is there a real photo to compare the two?
  2. Wow, you're a genius The detail on this truck is fab, I never thought about a food truck, an ice cream truck yeah but this is just awesome, one thing you missed though is ketchup and mustard ya gotta have ketchup and mustard on your $100 hotdog.
  3. That's a real purty truck ya got thar Any thoughts about a logo on the side or something to break up the whiteness? Would look nice in my town but I have too many trucks. Good job
  4. That's is totally awesome, you've used those yellow bricks great! I must have to try my own Mod style building sometime but I've got my hands full with a few mocs Excellent
  5. I've been ordering off bricklink for parts for my steampunk mocs, it's straight forward but be careful not to go overboard as it can be addictive, I go around shops in my country looking for the most and cheapest parts that i 'need' then see what else they have that could be useful, you can build up a collection farely quickly and you get about the same amount of bricks that you would compared to a lego set. I struggle to find decent steampunk parts from TLG sets and ones that do tend to be too expensive so I order from bricklink, it's also quicker and better packed than Pickabrick IMO, I ordered from there for the first time and it took 2-3 weeks before I got my order and then when I did get it, the parts weren't individualy packed like most are on bricklink and Pickabrick is more expensive me thinks especially with postage costs Also beware of some used parts that have a description saying the parts are damaged or discoloured. Bricklink + Abundance of Parts, + Cheaper-ish, - Quality Pickabrick + Abundance of Parts (some of them), + Quality, - Time, - Cost
  6. Thanks but I don't think I'm a pro ...yet... Here's a few more pics. Grandfather Clock Always wearing his lucky goggles and raggy clothes he is the most wise of all of Steam World, however in his old age he can be quite forgetful. A very early WIP shot of Brickbeards's Airship.
  7. It will certainly save the dissapointment of opening a huge box and tipping out a few small bags
  8. This all sounds very intriguing, I haven't been on the forums long and would be considered a super noob probably as I have no clue how these games work. I've done roleplaying on other forums before if this is anything like that, if someone could please tell me the basics I'd be happy to give it a 'shot'
  9. I'll definately be maintaining these standards, or try my best anyways, I saw that airship and IMO all airships look the same to me so I'll try and do something different with BB's
  10. That's really cool, I'm liking the abundance of tan plates and seaweed I'd like to see some small fish swimming maybe being chased by the shark, y'know as a kind of separate little thing going on . The spaceship and atlantis craft are cool and I love the leakage The way you've got the shark in 'mid-water' is genius, spotty dog
  11. That's really cool, I don't normally comment on starwars MOCs but I do have a soft spot for steampunk good use of the dark orange to go with the Teddy Bear
  12. That is one sexy looking fighter although I do think the pilot is compensating for something I did spot the discoloured brick on the other side unless that's just me, actually it might be just dark grey, it does stick out amongst the dark bley though, is that right?
  13. Sweet, I'm already drawing up ideas Thanks for the contest
  14. I thought this set was great when it came out, finally my Lego City would have some power The truck is just another truck, nothing special there but the escort vehicle I thought was cool. I wouldn't have gotten it if it was more expensive even if it had a PF motor. I've always thought about buying parts off BL to make a few more but dismissed this endeavor as I could spend my monies on something more worthwhile, but overall as a set targetted at the specific audience I thought it was good
  15. Hi PM, thanks for the comments I think I have enough pieces to start doing BB's airship, I may do 2 versions, one with rotors like a helicopter and the other with a big balloon Thanks for the comments, I always like to include some pearl gold pieces to highlight the brass parts Thanks for the comments guys, cheers.
  16. Thanks for the comments I like to try and balance the colours by using a main one (brown) and a 'highlight' (black) plus details without making look 'busy' but still detailed-ish. If you know what I mean...because I don't lol Hi Miss Kyle, thanks for the comment and I'll definately be churning out more
  17. Oh wow those are brilliant, thank you so much I'll be adding more as I go along so I'll be needing more names later but that's until I make and upload them Thanks for the help really appreciate it cheers
  18. Ok, I've decided on turning this topic into my own little steampunk collection, I'll keep adding to it when I make more models, enjoy First up are my minifigs, in my steam world there are different factions, Lord Edgar Sinclair and his Freedom Fighters. Leader of the freedom fighters, inventor and genuis who invented the first steam generator, but had his invention stolen by High Admiral Victor Ogel and his gang. Lord Sicnlair lost his left eye in ensueing battle, as Ogel lost right eye. He has currentley been fighting High Admrial Ogel by using the Freedom Fighters. The others from left to right are Evan Eagerson excellent explorer, Mac Macannon the marvelous mechanic, Lucille Sinclair daughter of Lord Sinclair, Julia Airheart greatest female pilot, Dr. Killroy don't let the name fool you he is a top knotch physician. Smith Wesson one heck of a gun smith, Chris Cunningham creative craftsman, James Dodger once pirate now turned good or has he... Grandfather Clock Always wearing his lucky goggles and raggy clothes he is the most wise of all of Steam World, however in his old age he can be quite forgetful. Jack Ace Brother of Cpt Steamclean and 2nd greatest pilot in Steam World. Cpt Steamclean (Hero) The greatest pilot in Steam World, can fly, drive and ride anything in any situation. He shows up just at the right time always in some kind of vehicle. High Admiral Victor Ogel and the TA (Totalitarian Army) Leader of the Totalitarian Goverment, evil, ruthless, and cruel. He stole the first steam generator, losing his right eye in the process. He made milions selling those generators in cars, trains, planes, ships, among other things. After being elected President, he took over the rest of the world and subdued almost all opposition to his regime with his very effective Totalitarian Army. Sam Sinister and his Bandits. Once the rival of Johnny Thunder, the former lord was stripped of his title and reduced to nothing. He built himself back up by becoming a bandit. He rose through the ranks to become the leader of the bandits. He sides Victor Ogel, and where his army can't go Sinister's badits usually can. Left to right, Kraze Kannonball, Luke Estar, Mad Marvin, Blaze the mechanic. Captain Brickbeard and his Pirates Brought back from the 1700's by an accident with time travel, this pirate only helps the higgest bidder. After the Bounty was destroyed during the time travel Brickbeard had to help both Ogel and Sinclair to build a bigger and better ship that can fly with the power of steam, and he is willing to help again but only for who has the deeper pockets. The Unknown Assasins Some people are not pirates or bandits, but mereley poeple who are on their own. These are not citizens, for they have killed more than one person. There is no leader for these outcasts of society, it's just every man for himself. These kind of people have been hired by all sides to kill soemeone. Or, if payment is really low, they turn in their employer for a reward. Ethier way, they get payed. That's the minifigs, and a huge thank you to Murdoch17 for help with naming them. Cheers (You do reallise I will have to make the time machine and Brickbeard's Airship ) Moving on. The Mini Walker A simple little walker which is in need of a hose and some cogs It's great if you're on a low budget as it is cheap and economical to run And the piece de resistance, The Quad Walker My latest and greatest walker so far, I wanted to do one with a cannon on but this is a bit too small. ...and... Here's a sneak WIP preview of Brickbeard's Airship. Update A quick update on the progress of Captain Brickbeard's Airship. I've been finding this a struggle to do as I've never built a ship before, I should have gotten Brickbeard's Bounty and I could have based my design off that but whatcha gonna do? More photos on my Flickr and MOCpages. Update (19/03/2011) A new vehcile to add to the collection. C&C Welcome
  19. This is Lego's own construction site from the advert. It's simple but would make a good canvas to start from. This one looks good by JANico, there's quite a bit of action going on. Here's another one with a big impressive feel to it. That's all I could I find for Lego MOCs of construction sites. I will load mine up once I get around to building it
  20. Nice skills there, what program did you use? I really like that ice effect, reminds me of Ice Planet
  21. I have to say City and Mods are my all time favourite, however I do have soft spots for alot more, Space Police, Castle, Rock Raiders, NinjaGo, Western, Trains, Pirates, Aquaraiders/Atlantis, Ice Planet (just for the Polar Bear ^.^) and others I can't think of atm.
  22. I've just really come out over the past few years (I'm 23yo) my local store where I buy Lego from know it's for me but my bro who is 13 collects aswell, mind you I think I'm definately more enthusiastic about Lego then he is. But when I go to other stores they don't normally ask who it's for and TBH it's none of their business, sometimes I get a funny look but it doesn't bother me too much. I do suffer from depression a bit, not so much now but I do have my ups and down days. I don't really have any friends my age up where I live as it's fairly rural and I don't go out much, but I'm quite happy in my Lego world My parents usually say to their friends that me and my bro both collect Lego, and people are usually impressed by our collection, my parents are quite happy for me to collect it but not too happy when I spend alot of money on it. If your parents don't want to buy you Lego anymore maybe you should get a job, even if you hate it it's money at the end of the day that you can buy Lego with I work for my parents in hotel and catering and TBH I really don't like it, but it's in the situation where I can't leave because I'd be dropping my parents in it so I just put on a front and get on with it
  23. Very nice indeed, to me it looks like a combination of Modular and Classic with the removable rear wall as long as no ones behind it when it opens...splat! Do you think you can squeeze in a toilet of some sorts and/or a kitchen? I always think there can be never too much detail as long as it isn't over crowded Cool mod
  24. The space sets were out in January here in the UK, I've got them already and have to say I was a bit dissapointed with the rocket, it just looks odd , my favourite one is the shuttle IMO
  25. The thing is I don't collect star wars lego but I had to be polite when the woman gave me it for FREE! but I do spend a fortune in that store I'm hanging on to it, it may be worth a few bob in a couple years
