I guess the people have spoken, but I'm not completely sold. If this goes wrong, we start over on Kyle tomorrow, since we've heard nothing backing him up from Lord SlipperyWhenWet. Unvote: Trexxen/Kyle Vote: Commanderbly42/Paul

Speculation about possible other themes, even Licensed ones, goes in "Other Themes", so I'll move this there, but first ... On topic: It isn't happening. I'll put money on it. Why would LEGO waste money paying for a license to a mostly out of date movie series that they can produce without that license anyway? What specifically could they make in a licensed version that they can't make now? Named characters? Guess what that means... Licensed = fleshie = doesn't match the rest of castle = bad. No thank you to an official LotR line for me. Just give us elves and all the appropriate elements, minus the licensing nonsense.

Sounds like fun! 1. Oh, wait, I already did that one, and it's in the system, AND the contest hasn't started yet. I'll come up with something else for this fun contest idea!

I think he gets demoted, or maybe he just has to spend the night listening to Blocky. Well, she's been away on business OOC, so I'm not sure she would be a fair inactive character to kill, but a valid point anyway. *hears a noise, turns and looks* Wha... uh... no, I don't care if you have a pink dress, go away! *sound of stomping, then door slamming* Whew. A very narrow escape.

Did I ask you? You sort of did, lad. Crap. Fine. Well, I only meant that I was keeping my vote the same unless the tide turned and then I'd just go along with the pack on this one. So I was still right. That isn't looking particularly promising. I'm half ready to switch my vote to Sinner. Whatever the case, if we don't pull one off this time, will you kill an inactive player for us? Ragnir still looks hungry, and I hear that the inactive ones are especially tender.

Anyone have the vote count right now? Seriously, I'll vote for whoever is close to dead at this point, just to move on. There's about as much evidence against Paul as there is Kyle. So wait... no one in this group, but someone else? How does that work? I think you need to let us know who this is, since they're obviously using you by providing false testimony against loyalists.

I've never thought that brown was your best colour... Do you have anything in green, maybe? -
One point on this. You don't decide who is executed, everyone does. You are just the one assigned the job. Using your logic, you've killed lots of loyalists and only two traitors.

Sadly, most of what you said could have been pieced together from things we've posted, including the night I spent watching Lady Suzanne. I made that widely known. I mean, we only had 2 women in the whole castle... The part that is confusing about it is how you were following her, but then changed to searching for her diary, which I assume was in her room. The night that Calvin claims he was investigating me (for a known traitor), I discovered him because I went to my room and he had to make a hasty retreat. I would assume that to be true of any player in that situation. It's a little confusing. Then again, I never could be sure he wasn't trying to kill me. Still... knowing how Draggy has been doing things, it's entirely possible, I guess. I'm not even sure that Lord Savril can confirm anything except that he whacked you. He would have no means of knowing what you were doing, any more than we do. Oh, and using the "no one will be around to kill the traitors" reasoning is lame. We have Ragnir, and he's always up for a game of seek and die with a traitor. So, my vote will stand for now, but don't let that sway anyone. If you believe him, unvote, I'm just not ready yet.

I have no idea what you're talking about. Sincerely, Inga. ps. You might as well bring out one of the pics of you looking like a girl too. The kissing one is always a classic. -
Good stuff here, even if I did have to add some of my heckling after the fact. Thanks for joining us, what's-your-name, and for putting up with Staudie.

Excellent job to all the staff except Staudie, who tried to kill the guest... again. Haven't we had a talk about that before? You said I could kill a guest once. But that was a very specific guest, and this isn't him. So I can only kill... *is whacked by a hammer that no one saw coming* Ah, looks like he's sleeping on the job again, and just before he revealed something I didn't want publically known. What a coincidence, and man, that must have hurt. Too bad. The next one? This one has already been nicely sorted out.
-
If you can manage that schedule, go for it.

You know, I thought this was sort of a strange question, but now that I think about it, it's not bad at all. The extra antenna and flashlights are so small, I've worried about losing them, so it's good to see them serving some purpose. Not bad. According to the instructions, it isn't typical to get two sets of everything with the Gunship, but I did, so I just ended up shoving all of my extra parts from all of the sets through a tiny hole in the extra accessory bag for now. Perhaps I'll have to try using them for something, maybe even cross themes and try putting them to use with castle helmets or pirate hats that can accommodate feathers with the same pins. Something to think about. Oh, and did you end up with a spare set of Ventris sabres as well? I'm quite glad to have them, but wasn't expecting it.

Minifig Arm Techniques?
Shadows replied to Dark Sword Ragnarok's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Good topic, but I think it would be a little better suited to the minifig customization workshop, so I'm going to move it over there. Thanks! -

Welcome and congrats, brother moderator! -
Oh, very nice. I was key in dealing with Lord Ash after everyone was flailing around killing loyalists day after day, and you want to suspect me, the one person who has more motive to kill traitors than loyalists. Yeah, I can see that the royal guard is doing as fine a job as ever. Couldn't protect the King, want to kill more loyalists. Nice. As for going silent, I never have, I just don't want us to keep killing the wrong people and I don't know where to go, outside of jumping to conclusions based on the way people make baseless accusations. Like you. Vote: Adam/Fred I'll undo that if anyone can give me good reason. Posting what you supposedly received from Dragonator is both against the spirit of the game and potentially deceiving. Early on, we had a clue about women and their herbs, which ended up being Lady Suzanne. I can't imagine both female characters being traitors. Plus, I thought it was the fish that was poisoned, fish from Calvin the mercenary, agent of Lord Ash who would have gotten the poison from his wife, Lady Suzanne's herbs. That part of the plot seems fairly neat and tidy. I do believe that one of the guard would have to be involved in order to allow the traitors to travel around the castle without being stopped, but I sort of assume that General Marcus did that, since he was in charge (right?). As I said, I thought it was the fish (never understood why the picture showed chicken, but one of the official posts mentioned the fish). I'll admit, you have a point there. Good save. Unvote: Adam/Fred Vote: Trexxen/Kyle

Shadows and deception. Bribes and taking over lands. Uh... is that a motive for killing the King? As I said on day 2 (I think, heck it could have been day 1), I had control of this kingdom before the traitors did in our good King. He trusted me to take good care of this kingdom, and I did. Now that he's gone, I don't know what I'm going to do. If anything, I have the absolute un-motive, I want the traitors dead for stealing my power. We don't know that. We know that one lord claims that he received a note saying that a lord was a traitor. That doesn't mean that ONLY one lord can be a traitor, it just means that at least one is. We found Lord Ash, but it doesn't mean that the others are loyal. Since the lords are the only ones who can take over the kingdom, I still cast a wary eye in their general direction.

I must admit, this turned out very well! You know, when I came on as editor/host/general harasser for EB News, I always pictured a day when Staudie would grow into the kind of interviewer who could produce the whole package in an entertaining and informative way, and this might be it. Good job, kid! I'm still surprised that Phes didn't kill you. Oh well, can't win 'em all.
-
Yes! The King shall be avenged, despite our missteps along the way. We've got to be getting close now, but I'm not sure why speculating on the number of traitors left is even important. We may have 1 to go, we may have 3, it doesn't matter. We just need to figure out who is the most suspicious at this point, either because of past actions or motive. I'll admit, I was a bit surprised that Lady Suzanne was a traitor, only because it seemed too obvious after her husband was one. Maybe we really can rely on the obvious. So that still leads us back to the big question... what do we do? We can't really rely on posting or voting records, since most of us have voted for the same people each day, and people come and go based on outside events that would make it unfair to judge them (OOC: I've had days of computer issues, Hinck went to Sweden, some of the current players were replacements for inactive earlier players, etc). The alibi angle is pretty good though. Some of us have been very visible night after night, others seem to be skulking in the shadows, up to whatever it may be. That could be a good place to start. I've pretty much got nothing else to offer right now but congratulations on a job well done taking out another traitor. Break out the booze, I think we all deserve a little comfort!

Cool, that made updating quick and easy. Thanks!

Well, thanks to ImperialShadows and what's-his-name for another fascinating interview! Oh, who am I kidding, I can't read it, it's too bright! It's me, you, the guest, Hinck, and a variety of random other colours as needed. As for reading pms, you're right, I've barely been on lately, as you could tell if you did a quick search. I'm overhauling my entire system after a major crash and burn and since you never sent the pics for the last interview you promised, I figured you were done for the summer, thus my mention of that in my sig. And my insinuation that you're in jail. Still, I'm going to assume you did a good job. Interview me, commanderbly42? Clearly, you should click the link in my sig and review the past archives. I interviews myself months ago.

Ordering Replacement Parts
Shadows replied to Dark Sword Ragnarok's topic in General LEGO Discussion
You're right, to a point. I've had a situation where a licensed part was missing and they replaced it without a problem. That said, it was a single part, not an entire minifig. They are specifically restricted from selling complete Star Wars minifigs by the license with Lucas, but something like a printed tile or a gun tends to be less of an issue. Won't happen because of the license. Don't even bother wasting your time trying, they will simply refuse, as they are legally bound to do. -
Good job, Teddy, thanks for participating! I don't know how LEGO would do against the 60's, partially because that's when they changed plastic types and partially because that's pre-minifig. The minifig has always seemed to be responsible for a large portion of the price of a set. It would be interesting to study, wouldn't it?
