  1. Welcome back, tin7! I'm sure they look great, and I'd really like to see them, but I can't deal with the image sizes. Please resize them down to 640x480 or something close to that and replace them so we can all enjoy your work. Thanks!
  2. Let's hope the torturer investigator learns to use their abilities with a bit more subtlety.
  3. Of course. That said, if we get 10 'cabbage man' entries, heads will roll. Get it? Heads ... nevermind. Welcome back to the wonderful world of MOC! You may post as many of them as you'd like, but you're only being entered once.
  4. I actually have that problem occasionally, but it seems related to the one where sometimes the page just doesn't load for me. Oddly, it seemed most problematic with Firefox, so I've actually switched to Opera to post here and it's been a lot better.
  5. Still got nothing but vague suspicions here. I'm certainly not ready to vote yet. The picture seems pretty clear, though now my helmet looks blue instead of dark blue. If Iris felt that this part of the family business could be trusted to everyone, I'm sure she would have shared it with everyone. As such, I will maintain her trust and simply say that all appears to have gone well and that is good for the family.
  6. As I said, TLG produces them, figures out that they don't need them and sells or gives them away to employees, depending on the situation. The specific arrangements aren't public knowledge because honestly, what would be the point for them to put effort into something like that? There are several dealers out there who manage to build up an inventory of them which then they sell them to you and me, mostly through Bricklink but sometimes at shows as well. It is even possible for large dealers to make specific deals to purchase huge quantities of things directly in a custom order format, but that isn't the case here, these are much more limited parts.
  7. Aside from my general description earlier, it pretty much never happens. Once or twice I've read where one of the LEGO park builders has mentioned that a part had been made for them to use in a project, but for the most part it's just not something that can really be tracked down because it isn't really important to the company to document every single odd part (they're much more archive oriented when it comes to sets). What they are, however, is an efficient company from all accounts and not prone to wasting perfectly good parts, even if they end up not needing them, so I would never be surprised to see an unusual one pop up somewhere. It's just a nice opportunity to get something that is completely different from what most people have in their collections. I'm fond of the barrel as well and still hoping they will end up actually producing them in tan one day, but I kind of doubt it. Excellent! An opportunity to try something new.
  8. You got it, babe. Iris looks uncomfortable as the guys try to use the saw to free her from the handcuffs. Ian reaches over and almost instantly flips it off her wrist with a bit of a flourish, much to her relief ... and confusion. That's amazing! How did you ... hey, why didn't you do that sooner? I kinda like how you look in cuffs. You sentimental old fool...
  9. Downloading now, thanks for letting us know!
  10. They absolutely are. As a matter of fact, I actually contacted TLG in Billund once to confirm that the source of parts like this was legitimate and they did. Best they could explain was that sometimes parts are made for an event or a future set or even a special order that doesn't end up happening, other times they're just tests, but they are definitely real and legal to own. That's when I started collecting them. It gets a little expensive sometimes. Hinck never gives away goodies like this to the staff. Lucky buggers...
  11. Wow, that's a nice assortment of rare parts! Speaking of which, what colour is that helmet? Ok, fine, I know it's dark blue. How do I know it's dark blue? Because I'm wearing one myself, which presents this incredible opportunity for the winner... you could build Ian, Loyal Mob Front from the wildly popular Baritones II. Isn't that an amazing possibility? Get building!
  12. And for new years, I'm going to ask that you resize that down to 640x480. Thanks, and welcome to EB!
  13. *slams down his whiskey bottle* We're hearing a whole lot of yammering and accusing and speculating, but we're not hearing any evidence! What time is it, anyway? I'm very interested in what Iris will have to say and then, just maybe, we'll get somewhere with this.
  14. We'd have to ask Iris for more details since she is the only one who was around back then, but as I understand it, it was the stupid citizens who were killing us and Darlene was just one of them. If she had been an agent, she probably wouldn't have been convicted of murder and put in jail with Iris. That dirty Sky character was around, but from what I understand he was working undercover looking for an arsonist and only got involved accidentally. I don't remember hearing of him killing anyone. I've been trying to research the events of those days, but there are still a lot of things I don't understand, especially concerning where some of the key players disappeared to. It would be nice to track the rest of them down for a little street justice.
  15. We'd switch to everyone's other favourite... Hello Kitty. Ask a silly question ...
  16. Exactly. The only time I've regretted a purchase is when I didn't make it.
  17. It's true. He likes his ... I can't do it. Just fill in your own joke here, folks. I'm getting soft in my old age. Crap. I just about did it again. Fill in another joke here. I'll be going now.
  18. Try living up to your username. First off, until a set it literally sitting in the store, any images are to be taken as a projection of what will be released, but not an absolute. Anything you see is subject to change. Second, while we don't censor people in most instances, saying that something "looks like shit" is idiotic. The tank droid bears absolutely no resemblance to shit. What you meant to say was that you didn't like it and then you meant to give a specific reason for that. Instead, you accidentally reverted to being a stupid kid and resorted to profanity to get across the message that you didn't have the intelligence to adequately convey. Seriously, Grow up: Grow up. This is meant to be an adult site. At least try to act like one.
  19. I have to throw out an odd question... Sure, we kill bad people because they're in the way or putting us at risk, but would the rats? I mean, theoretically, they're government agents, that's not usually how they work. They might blackmail someone into helping them in return for less prison time or relocation or something, but do they just sneak up and kill the people they are investigating? That doesn't make sense to me. Why investigate us at all when they could just kill each of us instead, they know who we are... No, I think we've got another problem here. I think we're either being infiltrated by another family or one of us is trying to take over and put the blame on the dirty feds at the same time. Wouldn't that be awfully convenient? Uh... Where is this coming from? *whispers to everyone else* Is someone paranoid? *cough* So, LeAnn, how are you feeling today? Except Pedro had been rambling for a while about the wives not being above suspicion and then blammo. I bet a rat would kill a loyalist to shut him up if they thought their cover could be at risk of being exposed. Thanks! It's nice to be trusted. Sadly, I don't know who to vote for either. You know, you keep flip flopping back and forth and I'll start to suspect that you're being blackmailed or are scared to just say what you think for some reason. You're all over the place today. Come up with a theory and stick to it. If you could find one with some facts behind it, that would be even better. We don't need confusion in this family.
  20. I noticed that the back edges are perfect 45 degree angles and had hoped to be able to use that fact to extend it with slopes. Attempting to do so revealed that it's 2 plates taller than a single brick, therefore you can't do it unless they decide to make 45 degree slopes that are 1 & 2/3rds bricks tall or you want to go to a great deal of effort involving cheese slopes, which won't look overly attractive. It's really a shame, the chance to create a long island this way would have satisfied me enough to ignore the drawbacks, but they just didn't plan as well as they could have. If it was 1 plate taller at that lowest level, it would be nearly perfect, and certainly good enough to be very useful. Perhaps someone with the time will figure out an elegant solution to this and prove me wrong, I certainly hope so.
  21. Not sure how I missed this post earlier, but it's never to late to touch on important concepts. Let's not forget a historically proven possibility as well... serial killer. She could be a night investigator or any number of other things. Being late only indicates that something went on, it doesn't say what, and not explaining is quite natural, especially if you have a role you don't want revealed (which can be good or bad). It isn't safe to make any assumptions there. As you may recall in history class, there was a town in the middle ages that seemed to have a witch problem. An inquisitor was sent to deal with it, but after the first night, his methods were somewhat forceably revealed, which ultimately led to a lot of confusion and death. He would have preferred not to reveal the nature of his night action, and it may be the same situation here. No matter what the investigator learned, they may not feel safe revealing it at this time. We don't even know if that is the reason for the attack. I have heard of situations where someone is attacked in an attempt to turn them to the opposite side. I do not have any idea if such a thing can occur here. I can only answer for my role in things. My work for the family involves the area that she wishes to discuss. I assume that the others who were called are in a similar position. I also assume that other members of the family will be called upon when other types of business arrangements need to be dealt with. This is a large operation, we have our hands in many businesses and coordinating all of that requires a careful balance. Iris knows what she is doing, that's the one thing we can count on here.
  22. Conveniently, this was the last of the Pirate sets that I needed, and I picked it up tonight. Will these do? Front Side Back Bottom
  23. If we suddenly are flooded with mocs of LEGO purses, we'll know why.
  24. Well, this has certainly been a day of revelations and mixed news. I feel much more secure about our future now. I think that's enough said for present.
  25. Congrats, kid, nice job! *pipes the new Vice Admiral aboard* *salutes*
