  1. I will probably pay for at least the first download as I like the magazine, and I do a lot of business via PayPal so I always have money in there anyway. If the PDF version is DRM protected then I will be more than a bit grumpy, and depending on that and what it's like I might go for more as they come. The print issue for outside the USA is too much to consider going for the print edition. As someone who sells stuff on-line, I can relate to hearing complaints when you have the nerve to sell something that people think should be free. I can say from experience that asking people to give money is no where near as effective as forcing them. so I don't think asking for donations would have worked. Perhaps imperialshadows is right that this was his plan all along, but he has handled the situation far better than Brickshelfgate was so he has no complaints from me. I downloaded the last free edition the day that it was avaliable. It doesn't bother me giving my infomation as I tend to give only Post Office boxes and temporary EMail addresses anyway.
  2. I bought this set last night and it is great. My biggest surprise was the wheels that were included; I didn't even know they existed and there aren't even that new. Back to the set, he is such a cute dinosaur. :-D Since he is so tubby I think he looks like a baby! I suspect my wife wanted him more than me.... my biggest interest in the set was to have more motors and IR parts so I could make an IR car. Overall, I highly recomend this set, but as others have said, be warned that the box is very oversized. I wish Lego would give up on this whole 1:1 picture thing. *wacko*
  3. 4958 Monster Dino. *wub*
  4. Now now now, you're just being a smarty pants! :-D
  5. Cool! :-D You love that hammer don't you! I do feel a bit sorry for the classic skeleton though. :'-(
  6. You have me curious now. I am a huge Final Fantasy fan; so much so that currently I am playing Final Fantasy 8 for the 5th time (I think!) on my PlayStation 1, as well as Final Fantasy 3 on my DS! :-D Which one(s) and what aspect were you inspired from?
  7. That is just beautiful... not to mention being a bit freakily close to Back to the future! :-D Here's hoping Lego sell it at cost as a birthday gift to us! :'-)
  8. They are goblins, I don't care what Lego or anyone says. I have read ooodles of fantasy, played wargaming and several variants of role playing (never as nurse so don't ask), and goblins is the logical answer. Troll warriors is such a namby pamby name that means nothing. Orcs are largely (but not only) a Tolkien creation, so they can't be that either. As for Ogre, that is an option depending on interpretation, but it is hard to treat Ogres seriously after Shrek! :-D I would however go for Ogre as a second option. But guys, call them what ever you want. If you don't care about being wrong that is! :-| ;-)
  9. If I could pick one set and have a man-servent to carry it, the UCS MF would be the obvious choice. That set is just made for making space MOCs! It has the perfect balance of structual pieces, plates and greebles! *wub* ...however missing the man-servant, I would pick my bulldozer. I carry that around all the time anyway! :-D
  10. Welcome to EB! You've chosen us for coming of age ceremonies! :'-) I'm touched. :-$
  11. To my embarassment I stared and stared at this last time, but never saw it. But I do see it now! Honest! It has the same cockpit as "ETX Alien Strike"... 8-| Weird. Lego made a similar mistake on the Lego Town posters. :-|
  12. I really like this but I have to admit that I am perplexed as to why it was built mostly sideways. I can't see what advantage that gave you. 8-| Other than that I think it's great. *sweet* I didn't even think of trying to blend the skeletons and robots. They look odd... *wacko* I love the barrel of death! :-D I doubt I'm his hero. If I was he would be doing space MOCs and not torturing poor minifigs! :-P
  13. Well the truck has gone up a notch in my book. It comes with a transmission...
  14. My old eyes have failed me! :-D Indeed I think you are right; and grilled slopes would be even better than a new grilled plate! *sweet*
  15. Yes. The one on the yellow mech with the razor wheel. Two grey 2x1 plates below the cockpit.
  16. :-P That would be ironic... (The walrus is becoming quite rare on Bricklink....)
  17. These are much better than last year! There are new looking pieces on them too, including a new grill plate on AssaultTiger, those new cheese pieces, the new spiky pieces (two types?), the cutting wheel that just screams out Tankorr to me..... I love Keikens tank. It even looks heavy enough to make those tracks work! :-P
  18. I agree with that to a point... and the limit to me is if the usage causes piece damage or is not study. Yay! :-D
  19. Looks cool! *sweet* Soon? *sweet*
  20. I used to always say the same thing, but as of late I have changed my mind. My only real complaint is that they need to sell more sets with female heads in them. Obviously though if Lego brought out those exact packs I would buy them in half second... :-D
  21. Looking great so far. You have made very good use of those wheels. *sweet* Chocolate Express? :-P
  22. I'm a bit of a purist and I have no problems with this at all. In fact I've been planning on doing the same thing with my Bulldozer and Backhoe. :-D Great photos! *wub*
  23. Stunning. *wub* I wish I had that much blue! (I'm a bit annoyed he is using the Cement Mixer drum as an engine as now I will look like I copied him! :-| ) I love how he has added little details like the stripes on the canards so it fits in with the old space sets. :-D Click on the picture for more. (Via The Brothers Brick.)
  24. I voted for the un-printed metallic armor. I like my parts to be flexible... 8-| That's it! Tell them like it is! >:-)
