  1. I saw this post earlier and I was thinking something along the same lines. i was thinking about something along the lines of it being a newer or older mold run of the piece and you may have a piece from a bad/poorly made batch possibly but I wasn't sure. It seems like an awefully lazy move on lego's end though. We're paying more and more for "quality" items yet they're beginning to have some minifig packs made w/ chinese plastic, stopped putting the plastic container sets in plastic bags b4 putting them in the containers(BAD MOVE), and overall the ppp ratio seems to be jumping on more items.
  2. I really wanted to join LU ever since the first possible release date was announced(Q1 2008), but I can't take the having to buy a cd AND the subscription. Plus, there's a lot of talk of computer issues w/ the game graphics and talk of the game not really having enough content to make it really worth it for long. Most sites I've tried work fine w/ free basic. About the only trouble places i've encountered is on Club penguin and toontown. Toontown wasn't even worth the subscription. I got from first training session to the boss suit in 2.5 months.
  3. bingo! The final images are there. I should of looked into something like that, but between errands/traveling yesterday and today plus trying to adjust to a new pair of eyeglasses, I couldn't put my finger on a good source of looking for that type of image(I'm worn out!).
  4. the set numbers Are 8301,8302, 8303, and 8304. I did search under that number(it's in gray next to the title) i did try searching under those numbers.
  5. Mom offered to get me a set or 2 tomorrow if she sees one and I'm interested in seeing the possible combos. I tried hunting an image on my own but I couldn't find anything on Amazon, bing.com search, legoshop.com, or a couple other sites. Can anyone offer me a link? I'm heading to check brickshelf now.
  6. My uncle and I were out yesterday running errands(Including an eye appointment. I'll have to return tomorrow or the day after for the new frames). I requested to go to a couple stores while we were shopping b/c I really wanted to make 2 combo model sets. When looking for the lego racers(8192, 8193, and 9195), I could only find 8193 at Toys r us b4 eye appointment time(the ones i'm looking for have yellow packaging tops) and the rest were green tops(83 hundreds). Checked target after the appointment and NONE. I go on walmart.com and both of the other sets I'm after are shown "unavailable in stores" and sold out online. I was going to turn to ebay but I asked mom to check at the store for the 2 sets. Well, my uncle and mom went to walmart today and found 92 AND 95!!!!!!!!! I haven't had time to assemble either set(busy organizing some lego in my room ) I'm trying to decide if i'll assemble the sets seperatly and combine another time or vice versa. I'll just Check on FarmVille tonight and sleep on the thought when I go to bed.
  7. not much into playing lately, but I'm trying to get some along time with my collection today. My mother and uncle helped me move a cabinet into my room and I'm working on getting some lego organized. I'm hoping to finally get some stray pieces a little better organized. In a way, the thought of lego building levels for the lego MBA thing is really fasinating to me but if the price is 100 bucks(2 payments of 50 bucks), there's no way i'm going for it. That's 2.5 times more then the lego brickmaster. I did love the lego brickmaster subscriction the first year I was on it but then the second year had to many Bionacle and star wars :( If I could of choosen to have more creator/city and less starwars/bionacle, I would of loved BrickMaster a lot more.
  8. OMG! I saw it at toys r us today(trying to find lego 8100 racers. Only found 1 racer. no more 8100s there) It's bigger then my head! It caught my attention but it's to massive for me. Even if I did want it(i kinda do), it's to big O_O
  9. ebay is a pretty good source. If possible, follow a few tips: 1) use paypal. If you get ripped off, you can file a complaint and either get your money back or problem resolved. 2) Check shipping! The price of some shipping can get really high. Most popular on B.I.N. lots. 3) try your best to only buy items that have a return policy. Yea even if you use paypal(like I do), it's better to try and get one w/ a return policy and avoid potential problems. 4) you will need to be a little patient. and 5) if you need to ask the seller a question, be polite. Speaking from experience, it will get you far in the world of eBay.
  10. I currently own set #8194. Tomorrow if things do right, i'll be going in for an eye appointment and i'll get a chance to run by toys r us or target with my uncle. When I checked amazon to see if there's any sites compatible with it these sets: #8192, 8193, 8195 yet the images only show it combined w/ one set. Can the sets only be compatible w/ one other or is it compatible with all the sets? Any other racer sets I can combine it with? Also, is there a good site to show the different combos?
  11. "Be mindful of the stereotyping. Do we really need a Hula Girl and Geisha? (Troublesome on a couple levels...biting tongue.) Baywatch-esque Lifeguard? Cutesy/sexy Pop Star? Cheerleader? I take issue with these for several reasons, but I'm not saying we shouldn't have these at all so much as I'm wondering why TLC offers these before giving us at least one figure like a female ninja, female alien, female elf warrior, female skater, female zombie, female deep sea diver, female amazon warrior, female ring master, female explorer, female surfer (soon via series 4!...finally), female karate champ, female vampire, female traffic cop, female mime, female rapper, female gorilla suit person, female race car driver, female mummy, female pilot, etc. etc. etc. In other words, they released male versions of the characters I just listed when at least one or more could've easily been females all throughout series 1-3. Instead, for the token female figs they did create, most were these stereotypical female characters mentioned earlier. (The one exception being the female snowboarder...see, that wasn't hard, was it?) The overall message being sent by the current choices is the same old tired one that adheres to unnecessarily divisive gender roles." How about instead of complaining the roles of the girls in the sets, be thankful that there is actual FEMALES in the sets? out of 64 figs(including series 4) there is 12 girls. In each set, theres 3 girls. that's almost a 1:5 ratio on females in each set. That is WAY better then normal. I found an article that talked about lego trivia(that i now can't find) how the ratio of Female to male minifigures is about 1:18. Plus, if you're into altering the sets, get some female heads and switch them out. tada females.
  12. Let's see... no 15461 but 1546-1 is kick up as http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=1546-1 and 5461 kicked up 5461-1 http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=5461-1 so I come up as a pen set and a shape sorter house -_-
  13. The hair looks pretty close to the series 2 karate guy's hair.
  14. Yea it is kinda creepy... It's like someone decapatated a life size minifigure and is using the head as storage.
  15. i'm not exactly in a rural area, however, the stores like target and toys r us are about an hour away but we don't really have a reason to head that way. If I really want a lego set, i'll keep an eye out at walmart or eBay. toys r us has a lot of overpriced stuff and it's not really worth it. And we don't do target much b/c we can get stuff at walmart way easier or just go to sams(Store that sells stuff in bulk) for most of our other needs(it's way cheaper for some of our needs) And i'm not into going hunting for stuff on bricklink. I'd rather stick to sites that i've shopped at b4. Though I think i will skim the catalog. I'm curious in seeing if I can find the set that Christopher doyle got the head for Wiskey Tango(Reasonablyclever.com lego comic's main guy). Though looking at all those search results that came up, could someone point me in the right direction?
  16. Storage head? I spied it on amazon but it's showing as 57 new. As far as the box? Try amazon also but maybe ebay? As far as the storage head not on the site, you could email/call but things will be slower due to inclimate weather. Maybe try checking in a few days. I think there's a day or two of the week where there's items uploaded.
  17. the S&S head looks pretty cool. But i doubt i'll get one any time soon. 40 bucks is a little pricey for me and I don't really sort my pieces by size. I use a pretty unusual method of sorting. It's kinda mix between type, set, and mixed. Check my post on page 18 of the sorting thread. In a way, I would like a smaller hollow minifigure head w/o dividers version. It would make storing some pieces really fun and add something different. If i did see this in the store, i'd admire it and maybe snap a pic or two w/ my nintendo DSi XL(Almost always with me) but I doubt i'd get it even if it was on a really good sale price. I may have enough room for it, but I don't really have a use for it.
  18. Actually, I did try(only a daily basis at one point) to track down figs at a good price. here's what happened on more the one occasion: I go to ebay and go a search. I find a figure that I really want with good prices and often good/great shipping, I check on there other items/shipping and this is where things go sour. I take and find out that either A) the person doesn't have the figs i'm after, B) the is no combined shipping, C) if they do have one that I want, the price is close to, if not OVER the max i'm willing to pay. And actually, to date, neither my mother nor myself have been able to locate so much as an empty display case. We rarely go to toys r us(I've gone about 2X in the last year and she's gone about 1X and when we checked[we each checked on a different occassion and my run they had none and mom's run was a bust b/c they were sold out]), we don't go to target on a regular basis(A place with them sited), borders(A place where people on ACC have found them) is at least a 2 hour drive away from us and we rarely travel that way, The closest lego store to us is at least a 5-6 drive(we only get that way every year or 2 and that store didn't exist until shortly b4 the last summer) but I kinda forgot to ask at the store b/c I got so excited to visit the lego store for the first time ever. Except for the few I got on Legoshop.com(I needed some PAB stuff) and the ones from ebay(that i got EXTREMELLY lucky on) I doubt i would of found any. But I got my B-ball player, gorilla guy, snowboarder and surfer dude that I really really wanted so I guess things aren't a total bust.
  19. How about commercials w/ boys and girls PLAYING w/ lego instead of mainly animated commercials or BOYS playing with sets? Or how about bringing back house sets? That is what would really catch my attention as a Female AFOL. I'm not into the pink and girly stuff though I could appreciate SOME pink lego. I just don't want pure pink. YUCK!
  20. Not all AFOL's want armys of a single type. For me, 1 of each one I want is enough. I am not really into battle scences and I don't have a use for a lot of them. I'm not into mixing and matching premade figures. I'd rather leave them like they are. Though if a minifigure loses the hair/hat piece and I can't locate the orginal piece, i will try to locate a piece as close to it in my collection. Though if I do order from lego again and i think about it, i should order a few spare hair pieces and a couple hats for my "extra hair/hat" container. I don't have much past an IJ hat or two, female hair, a pirate cap or two, and I think a few stray pieces besides that. Oh, and online buying is a major problem for some. Any idea how many price gougers are on eBay? Any idea how insane the bids are on some of the items when the prices ARE reasonable? I really wanted the baseball guy and snowboarder gal and those 2 were nearly impossble for me to get. I had to track at least 2 or 3 auctions just to get lucky on an auciton I wanted surfer dude of series 2 b/c I knew he'd be a good match with series 4 sufer girl(one of 3 series 4 I want). If it wouldn't of been for the fact i got extremly luck that a guy had a couple(I just got 1) and said I could get one in my order, I would still be looking.
  21. Thankfully, I never faced anything like that. Then again, my favortite set to keep an eye out for are those cute 3 in 1 sets and it's pretty obvious that something may be up. As far as missing pieces, yea i had about 4 or 5 sets w/ a piece missing. Was it annoying having to contact lego CS online? YES. were the bags tampered with? nope. Lego's bag weighing check scale might getting a little sloppy. And I wouldn't be suprised if I have a part or two missing in the 2 lego 3-in-1 creator sets and the 1:55 scale set I got for christmas.. Lego's playing the lazy card and looks like they're stopping the packing in bags b4 putting in the containers. I went to attempt a "Build in sealed bag build" and the 3 sets were not in bags. The seal was in perfect condition and no signs of tampering
  22. I don't see removing the id method as fair. What about those that don't have time for the feel method or are like me and it's not a method that works for them? Not everyone has lots of money for the figures and/or they don't have anyone to trade the figs with. Plus by paper chart, I didn't mean the ID cheat sheet. I meant the paper included in bags that have the 16 minifigs on one side and the mix and match chart on the other side.
  23. Sounds like lego is becoming money hungry piggies on these things pretty fast. How do they expect people to find the ones they want? Sounds like a way to make people by lots and lots of money Feel method doesn't work for me. I tried to id which figures were in which bags w/ my series 2 figures that came in. I only tried a three out of 6 bags b4 I gave up. I knew what they were going to be(eBay!) but outside of the basic minifigure body(head, torso, and legs), I couldn't ID anything. The paper chart made it hard to id anything.
  24. Actually unless i'm mistaken, the bunny is not bugs but the Nesquick bunny. There is a really rare Nesquick bunny in the lego world. He appeared in two Studio sets: http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/4051_Quiky
