That wasn't the preliminary name; it was from a fake list of summer sets.
-
HUNTER! Core HUNTER! It's just the accent/pronunciation.
-
My opinions haven't changed really. Now that we've got a clearer look at Stormer and Speeda, I still think they are mixed bags; Stormer has some extremely good concepts, but a few of them aren't executed very well, and Speeda looks astonishing overall, but his design isn't that original at all. Also, that's not the way I expected Core Hunter's helmet to look...but I like it. XT4 still sucks btw. :3

Very detailed look at the sets . -
Evo: After you've scrubbed all the floors in Hero Factory, then we talk about staying on topic! Why thank you.
-
As I said before, XT4 looks like he/she has a very minimal amount of interesting parts. Unless that remark is storyline related, as others have speculated. There are other images/videos from which you can get the gist of what he looks like, at least I have been able to. Also: Just pitching in.

With Ordeal of Fire, there was only two sets that I genuinely couldn't call 'good': Breez 2.0 (due to her generic weapons and lack of femininity) and Fire Lord (due to the design being in its early stages). Stormer, Furno, Evo, Nex and Surge? Great. Drilldozer, Jetbug and Nitroblast? Awesome. The second wave of Breakout, however, isn't so top-notch in my eyes. Originally, I thought Nex looked pretty bad, now, however, he is growing on me, as he is with you. The resemblance to his 2.0 form is very nice, and not too overdone, with the exception of his helmet, perhaps. I'm glad to see the white back, but like many people I would have preferred it in lesser quantities. His weapon is also pretty plain, but I think the rest of him somewhat makes up for it. Stringer I've actually been very open to from the beginning; ever since I saw Von Ness back in 2010 I knew I wanted a blue and black hero eventually, and now we've got it. Sure, some people might not like his secondary colour's drastic change from yellow/orange to medium and transparent blue, but that's one of the main things I loved about Breakout wave one; it re-introduced some old concepts but also gave us some new and exciting twists. Stringer, in my opinion, does both. Speaking of transparent blue, I would've loved if all of his armour was said colour, but he's still my favourite Hero of the wave, especially with that rocking weapon. Bulk I've got mixed feelings about. When the first images came out, I thought he looked utterly atrocious, but now, I'm quite liking him. The colour scheme is a thing I actually like, I just think it's not spread out very well. This was a problem I also had with the fire villains, but like I mentioned, with the exception of Fire Lord, I really like them. I don't like Bulk quite as much, but I think he has the potential to be reasonably okay. The shoulder-mounted MTIS complements him well, and I'm glad he's back to actually being bulky, like his 1.0 form. XT4 is terrible. Plain and simple. Unlike the heroes, who have seemed to improve over time, XT4 just keeps looking worse and worse. Useful/unique parts seem very minimal, as does a good building experience. Weapons feel uninspired, and the colour scheme looks incredibly bland. If it seems like I've had a generally positive outlook on the previous sets, that may be, but it is not the case here. When I saw Voltix, or at the time, "that unnamed villain", in the Rocka vs. Black Phantom video, I thought he'd look great as a set. I was wrong. At least, when I saw the preliminary pictures I thought I was, and I still think I was, partially. Voltix has some really good elements, like the piece selection with all that purple, and some very bad elements, like the colour scheme. I, like many others, think it has been sharpened up a little since we first saw him, but I still don't like it on the whole. The re-coloured Black Phantom helmet is just dull, and the weapons are nothing special either. I don't think I can give a proper opinion on Core Hunter, as we haven't been able to have a good look at him yet. From what I can and have seen, however, he looks sublime. The classic red and black colour scheme works really well, and it seems he has a great selection of parts. I can't see the helmet or weapon very well, but I'm very interested to see how they look/go together. Stormer XL is a mixed bag. I like the overall look of his legs, the body design seems quite good, and the weapon is very nice, putting the Breez/Batman sabres to good use. However, the new jet-looking armour just looks awkward when placed on his arms as it is, as well as the fact that the legs, while introducing a new and seemingly innovative design, look like they have the potential to be considerably flimsy, and full of gaps. Also, unless the Stormer 1.0 helmet is resized, I expect it to look extremely small compared to the rest of him. Speeda Demon I think I can sum up in one sentence: Brilliant pieces, lacklustre set. So, overall, I think Stringer and Core Hunter are great, Nex, Bulk, Voltix, Stormer XL and Speeda Demon are mediocre, and XT4 is just plain terrible. With OoF, I could call all 8 sets that I liked 'good', with this wave of Breakout, I can only call 2 out of the 7 sets that I like good, Stringer and Core Hunter, the other 5, Nex, Bulk, Voltix, Stormer XL and Speeda Demon, I can only call average. Wow, this is the first full analysis of the wave that I've done. Savage Planet is my second favourite line, just behind Breakout wave 1, as I mentioned earlier. All of the heroes were great, with the exception of Furno, who was nothing special at all, in my opinion. The villains were fantastic, sure, Fangz could've used some work, but I still liked him on the whole. I know there's some Witch Doctor haters out there, but to me he was a phenomenal set, despite the excessive use of Technic. He does have a trans-chest, and I love it too; one of my favourite parts from Breakout wave 2. One piece, however, amazing as it is, isn't going to change my opinion on the entire line-up.

Ninjago 2012

You mean the Great Devourer? Yes, it does look pretty generic, although it's exceeded the expectations I got from the prelim. pics. On another note, I think we'll get at least one limited edition set this summer. Probably just another fairly large ninja/snake vehicle. -
I think we can all manage waiting just over a week; we've already gotten high quality pictures/videos featuring the majority of the sets, and hey, it's not exactly the best Hero Factory line to date is it? The worst using the new building system, at least in my opinion.
-
Well, we only got pictures of Rocka 3.0, the Nex 3.0 + Stringer 3.0 combo model and Witch Doctor from Nuremberg last year, so I won't be surprised if we have to wait until the New York Toy Fair to get good images of all 8 sets.
-
Well, Spieletest has begun uploading Nuremberg Toy Fair videos to their YouTube account, starting with coverage of the brilliant Ninjago summer line, so Hero Factory will hopefully follow soon.

MOTHER OF GOD. THE... THE BEAUTY. ALL MY MONEY LEGO! ALL MY FREAKING MONEY! I can't believe I was contemplating getting these at Christmas time... -
Bulk: TOO MUCH BLACK. Quite bad from the looks of things. Stormer XL: Looking good. Am I the only one who thinks an updated version of his 1.0 weapon is featured with the model there? Seems very different from the preliminary image. Nex: Can't see much, but he looks okay. Stringer: Pretty darn cool. Trans-blue chestplate? Hell yeah! Core Hunter: Can't give an honest opinion, as I can only see his back. I'm still convinced he'll be the best set of the wave, though. XT4 (we'd better get an explanation for that name): Can't see much, but it looks like he uses amber (some may call it "keetorange"), instead of bright yellow. The set itself is meh, too spindly. Voltix: Colour scheme still seems terrible to me. The build itself looks average, but hey, at least I was right about the colour of his helmet from the beginning. Overall, Stormer XL, Stringer, Core Hunter (and Speeda Demon) = Good. Bulk, Nex, XT4, Voltix = Average to bad. Still, for the parts and teh moneyz, I'll pick 'em all up.

Nah, that's a size 5 shell on Captain America's forearm, guys, sorry to burst your bubble.

Ninjago 2012
Omicron Squad Leader replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
1. There aren't any on the shoulders, look closer. Also, I think Cole's Tread Assault and the Fangpyre Truck are great, so...no complaints there. 2. It's just a gimmick, a play feature, it doesn't have to be storyline related. Besides, it could harken to their ability to shoot up from the ground. 3. The *5 new generals can't fit on spinners, there's already been two Sensei Wu spinners in the past, and as Bluebeard pointed out, there IS a Kai ZX. Snike is the only one with a fair excuse. 4. Actually, Nya/Samurai X's hands are black, and there's some black printing added to a few parts. She also has grey, gold, red and dark red on her, just like the mech. (Yes, it does have some dark red highlights.) They kind of are, a bit. Plus, there's some inaccuracies in there. -

1. There's only one spinner crown, on the front, and it's just cladding for the mech, what's so bad about that? 2. It's just a regular catapult...so? Plus, it's merely a gimmick; not part of the actual mech. 3. Firstly, no they don't, Snike doesn't come in either. Secondly, with the exception of Snike, ALL NEW MINIFIGS COME IN A SPINNER OR BOOSTER PACK. 4. Red, black and gold. Matches Nya/Samurai X, and is a colour scheme I'm fond of anyway. I like it. -
Ninjago 2012
Omicron Squad Leader replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
What wrong with Samurai Mech? It's aesthetic is great, and looks to me like it's put together very nicely. I also think the Ultra Sonic Raider looks awesome, as does Epic Dragon Battle. -
I think you need a proper reason to go anyway, not just because you want to see the sets. Meh, only 4 days until the Nuremberg Toy Fair, from which we should get pictures/videos of a few of the sets. The New York one is very soon too, and from that, we'll get to see the whole range!

Ninjago 2012
Omicron Squad Leader replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Except that isn't specific enough. It's a VENOMARI vehicle, not a Fangpyre, so the colour scheme could be different. However, since Lasha is lime green, I do expect it to be said colour. -
Ninjago 2012
Omicron Squad Leader replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Nope! I'm just sad that they're the ZX's and not the NRG's. Perhaps the latter weren't finished in time for inclusion in the play-sets; they're set to be released a month or two later after all. The Ultra Sonic Raider looks great in my opinion, and the Samurai Mech is sublime. Lasha's Bite Cycle will probably be pretty underwhelming however. -
Then why did you just call her "she"?

Ninjago 2012
Omicron Squad Leader replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I was watching BBC Breakfast this morning (UK morning news show), and noticed that a woman was reporting from London Toy Fair. She started in the Star Wars section, then walked to the Dino part, then eventually over to the Ninjago section, where she interviewed the Marketing Director and a woman that did...something. Anyway, once they had finished the interview, the woman moved over to the right a bit, and I could see Epic Dragon Battle! Then...she stepped in front of it. Oh well, at least I could still see Samurai Mech...very vaguely. -
Or it is just their opinion as a human being, hmm? Regarding my justification, Aanchir basically summed up my sentiments.
-
Most of the villains didn't have humanoid proportions from the start, the Heroes have done, so I (and basically everyone else), think they should stick to that trend.

Spinner for Jay ZX
Omicron Squad Leader replied to KurttKrueger's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Well, it could be June or July, we can't tell at this point in time. But yes, there will be a Jay spinner, NRG-Jay, but it obviously won't contain his ZX form.
