  1. While thinking about it if Warhammer would be an interesting setting (personally Fantasy would suit LEGO best) , I doubt it'll ever happen for many reasons applying to LEGO and Games Workshop's strictness. (miniatures, war, daemons, guns, dark themes etc) Also some of it would probably really look dumbed down in minifig scale or need extremely specialized pieces/prints. And they don't need a warhammer license for minifig knights or large scale dragon/creature/castle display models. (+ they already went the way of big display models for LOTR)
  2. True, this license could go on for a long time, in all sorts of styles and sizes, and if they run out of ideas, they could even go as far as releasing same set twice in different colors (shiny pokémon), like they have done for Creator 3-in-1 , and some technic cars releasing in different colors.
  3. Those look quite strange, I know they kind of started this cube-look with the eevee model (which looks fine), but they overdid it on the others, and they lost the recognizable look of LEGO as well. Tbh might've been better with regular slope bricks instead of this shiny rounded cube look all over it. But it's nice to see smaller sets in the line at least. Obviously those are meant as playsets , not as display 18+, so can can understand why they did a smooth rounded design for kids hands to pick them up etc, I wonder how they'd look if they did them more like the mario character packs instead but that scale is likely too small to fit a smart brick.
  4. It originated as a game boy game first and foremost, it moves long past being an animated series focused thing for kids, nowadays, outside of japan, they release like new episodes in small batches, then you have to wait months for english or whatever other non-japanese language dub to appear, and then you get about a dozen episodes, and you have to wait again. While the switch games slowly have been giving more content and less exclusive (some still exists like unavailable mythics, or store-codes for the last gen 9 box legendary shinies), money has shifted to Fomo Champions battlepasses/GO passes and Trading cards (both digital and paper) , the switch games still sell about 1-2 dozen million copies for the most part (even spinoff like Pokopia was quite a success for a new-ish console exclusive), but it's moved far past the point of a kids tv show. And exclusives like limited pokémon to said country/time/event has been a thing for 30 years or so, so GWP don't surprise me at all. Then again, the hype will probably pick back up over the next few months/year as more info for Generation 10 / Winds+Waves arrives. That said, the way they released the first wave of sets, kind of pushed me away instead of drawing me in, it should've had more smaller sets for all ages instead of just some statues, same with how they handle LOTR really, so I definately agree. I'm at least glad the Creator sets got new version of the castle and pirate ship, and hopefully 2027 will have some house / shop again as those have been a bit sparse in Creator (although Friends has loads of compatible shops/houses so it's not entirely gone)
  5. They did at the very least for Space , they just had City (and some Friends sets + those unthemed alien packs) space with aliens and exploration, all had a giant space logo branding on the box too, definately was not the same compared to those previous Mars and Moon sets of the last decade. The figures definately don't give any sort of hint that those are City or Nasa figures , without the box , in a few years, someone who had not followered LEGO much, might not even know those originated from City without looking up the origins. And the couple Friends sets had the transparent purple windows too. It's the closest to a full theme of space sets it has been, ranging from polybag size to various size land vehicles, spacecraft, a space station and a large base and a medium size research station. Now, for Pirates and Castle, there really has not been anything resembling a wave of sets in a while, even Nexo Knights which could be considered a castle derirative, is already 10 years old for the first wave, and 2013/2015 is even longer ago, so since the April 2020 Barracuda Bay release it has been mostly Ideas / Icons / 3-in1 / GWP. And themes like Ninjago/Dreamzzz have some form of ships and swords etc, they haven't really done much resembling classic pirates or castles, even Dreamzzz had some space sets with Mr. Oz still. Vidiyo basicly flopping didn't help either, as it definately had a direction of covering Aliens, Fantasy Castle/Vampires and Fantasy Pirates/Sea Creatures. LEGO Movie 2, Hidden Side and Vidiyo definately had issues on their last waves, either getting huge discounts due to product just not being sold or overproduction, or products just simply being available for only a short while as it felt like they abruptly had to end some of the production numbers. (Even Nexo Knights had a less abrupt ending after the strange and different direction of 2018 wave, but it still got the story wrapped up via 9 issues of the 2018 magazine and the app) Some of the last City space sets ended up being sold for quite a short period of under a year, but I think the smaller 60430 Interstellar Spaceship was a success having the product extended, and even now in mid-2026 it's even still sold while the rest retired, definately not a flop compared to how some of those Stuntz Loop sets ended up getting 50-60% discounts at some point.
  6. Designs like the 3-in-1 pirate/castle do/did well, or they would not sell them for 4-5 years and get followups. But on the other hand, ideas/icons "remakes" like Galaxy Explorer, Eldorado, Barracuda Bay, Blacktron Renegade only being out for like 1.5 years, doesn't immediately mean those were bad/worse designs. Maybe it's the price then? I don't know , in the same year, I think Barracuda Bay offered better value for €200 compared to the 3-in-1 Pirate Ship that was later inflated to €130, yet there's a big difference between 5.5 years and 1.5 years availability. But then again, we don't see smaller Castle/Pirate sets outside of City Space or GWP in the last 5 years either. Currently, Ninjago is like the only in-house theme that continues it's small sets in the form of small mech/battle packs (basicly a €10 set with 3 figures, or some small mech/vehicle battle for €20), a format I'd love to see for space/castle/pirate figures, but they don't do it.
  7. "themes" yes, but the last 3-in-1 Pirate Ship lasted over 5 years, surely a change from how short Barracuda Bay was sold, and that's clearly not just an IDEAS thing, some of those Icons sets like Eldorado didn't last very long either. Current direction as of 2026, for new things, it just seems to be 3-in-1 having just renewed their castle and pirate set, and possibly that black knight sea serpent ship as GWP , but 2027 might have new icons or creator sets or something that will take the place of Dreamzzz/Monkie Kid etc. In the meantime, PotC and LoTR are also back with their big sets like 10365 Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirate Ship and now Minas Tirith, so I understand why they they might've waited with releasing new huge icons sets at the exact same time (especially in the pirates department, I highly doubt releasing some icons ship would make sense for 2026). And minas tirith isn't really a "castle", it's a downscaled 200+ meter tall city, they had to play tricks with the height, for understandable reasons, I think a new version of Helm's Deep would much more fit in a Castle role, even if it's just a section , with more focus on armies instead of the entire architecture. Ninjago has all sorts of price ranges however, lately even more huge sets and pure display sets, so it's definately thriving, but more display sets also seems to be a general LEGO direction not limited to themes. Still, things are all over the place, I think interstellar spaceship from City seemed to be a good seller, yet some other sets like the big rover lasted very short for some reason. And that's the closest to a space "theme" LEGO has gotten since 2020 (2019 LEGO Movie 2 was quite space-heavy, and then there were bits here and there via monkie kid or dreamzzz etc.) with a large range of sets of multiple price points and even offering some side-options via Friends and those green alien packs sold at lego.com. Now minifig space is still hanging on a little bit in education but not at it's peak anymore. 2027-2028 will likely show us more on what LEGO's direction will be, 2026 is just quite an empty year, outside of creator 3-in-1 (castle, pirate ship and haunted house (ghost figure) to a lesser extent)
  8. More reports of pesticides on flowers (even in EU), and overall large increase on price on real flowers , works in LEGO's favor. And peope like building them too, including we're at a point where LEGO for adults aren't seen as weird anymore, and those flowers aren't strictly 18+ category either, they got a good range of price and sizes which makes it a very flexible theme, clearly earning enough to get a lot of new moulds and even more recolors. Demand for real flowers remains high but it's understandable people look for alternatives when those smaller/medium Botanical sets offer competitive value as they last as lot longer then real ones despite obviously still being smaller in the same price range. And they can make new sets basicly endlessly, even repeats with some change of parts/colors already have been done.
  9. I think it says a lot they renewed the 3-in-1 castle and pirate ships basicly straight after their previous version retired, and those sets were not sold for a mere 1 year either, the 3-in1 ship was around since 2020 and just now got a new set that's similar but has different figs, and alt builds. And the more recent creator sets even introduced new torsos for like vikings, the horse knights, and now the pirates aren't straight up reused old parts, and the number of figs somewhat improved from the mere 3 (+skeleton) in the previous castle/ship. Unlicensed Space got a lot in recent times via City and some Friends, and had a mix of nasa-like sets and completely new sci-fi inspired content. Icons/GWP/CMF also revisited old factions. I don't think the themes were gone, there definately has been more from 2020-2025 compared to like 2015-2019 tbh, although, some sets , especially icons, had quite low lifespans but the fact something like 3-in-1 ship lasted 5 full years says a lot that LEGO has not abandoned things. 2026 seems to take a break from the big icons sets right now but there had been a whole lot up to 2025. (And I won't include BDP as I see that more as a side-thing, not a replacement for icons/classic etc.) Was the last decade perfect? no, but there definately was not a complete void either. What I still would like to see would be smaller basic castle/pirate sets that aren't Gift-With-Purchases.
  10. Ok, I see it now, still, harry potter got it last. Maybe it's in some icons castle set or whatever in near future too.
  11. Definately the best set of the theme since 2024 restaurant. Wish the horse costume fig was in it but oh well, getting an actual horse is nice, especially a color that was absent for a while. (2023/2024 had white horse body in some marvel/harry potter set but the last set it had a head with regular white horse bridle print was 2019 harry potter I think) Product picture are a bit weird when they show the horse with a gap, but it has a brick/tile on the other pics.
  12. I know , it's not a problem, 1025 + extra forms(tera/mega/shadow/gigantamax/regional/gender differences etc. forms) to choose from already. Would love to see a creator-style wave of sets with a few 3-in-1s , but would be harder to do with the way they do eyes/mouth as prints, but could still work for the Slowpoke line. Something silly like an unown 26 or 28-in-1 could be fun to see but maybe at smaller scale so you can actually spell words, and smaller round plates/tiles exist if they want the eye print to be used.
  13. Well, Pokémon day 30 years, came and went, so far , no new core games until at least 2027. Gen 10 starters did get announced , so LEGO sets of them will probably happen at some point but I don't think they'll make those until 2028. Or maybe the Costume pikachu's they showed.
  14. I think Gen 1 will definately be the main focus still this year, 30th year anniversary is for Gen 1, Fire Red/Leaf Green even come to switch now. Something Gen 10 seems likely for 2027 if it ends up releasing this november (speculation) Also could have something related to Z-A / Megas, or maybe a battle arena or w/e based on Champions (the official place for VGC) Pokopia is blocky enough to be Lego-like but I doubt they'll do moulded mini models that would fit inside a 2x2 area. Only see it happen if they completely scrap minecraft and animal crossing. I mean, it's still a while until something like 30th anniversary of gold/silver (1999 > 2029) , that leaves 2027-2028 pretty much open to anything. I think the concept of 3-in-1 could be interesting for something like Slowpoke > Slowbro+Slowking. (could even recolor it/update it a few years after with Galarian variants) If they wanted, they could basicly make thousands of different sets , and even go crazy with recolored sets for shiny variants, even if they stick with just brick-built.
  15. City definately could use some new actual City, I mean, the airport is fairly big and at least a little bit modular (technic pins to change layout). 60473 The City Tower doesn't seem like a big hit with it's retirement already planned before August 2026. 2026 so far with vehicle-heavy frontloaded but understandable with apparently the 2022 police station popular enough to warrant staying for at least 2026 and existing fire/prison infrastructure. Probably have to wait for either Creator / Friends or 2027 to see anything urban. But maybe the amount of huge-high-price buildings in the past year is taking it's toll a bit oversaturating/overbudgeting the LEGO lineup between icons (usually overscaled) and Friends. That said, the amount of vehicles in City means they can keep Friends, mostly focused on buildings, but a lot of the designs are very standalone and not part of a greater system of connectivity. Although sets like the rooms and 42680 Heartlake City Mini Supermarket may inspire kids/adults to finish the actual buildings themselves. But even Friends doesn't really live up to some of the strengths of older 3-in-1 line , which didn't rely on so many stickers for details. Still looks like a much better "era" for train fans and heavy construction equipment, as there is a lot more choice in recent years.
