Brown horses were at Yorkdale in Toronto, disappeared and now they're back.

I was up in Toronto on the weekend and went a little nuts on the horses and fences, I was surprised to count 22 horsies when I got home and separated and sorted my parts. I go a little overboard with . . . . everything. Disappointed in Sherway Gardens, they are just neglected and behind, no pick-a-brick master baseplate, they didn't even have the stupid green off-road pick-a-model thing!

It's not on display. At the location where I was it was in an empty pick-a-brick drawer right around the Pick-A-Model calm-shells. I've seen this at multiple locations.

Maybe this is old news to everyone but me, but they have a 32 X 32 baseplate that has every pieces that they have for PAB attached to it. If what is on the baseplate is NOT on the wall they'll go back and grab the box for you.

You need two of them to make the stupid pick a model, so as common sense would dictate there's a bijillion of them in the bin to accomodate half-a-bijillion sales of the pick a model.

Made a bunch of stops recently: Detroit - 3 week's back. Columbus - 1 week ago Toronto (Yorkdale) - past weekend Toronto (Fairview) - past weekend I honestly feel for those in the US. I find that your PAB selection is pretty bad to be very frank.I guess that I'm different from most in the fact that I hate 2 X 4 bricks on the wall. Pick-A-Model is the bane of my existence right now. If it didn't involve literally ruining the lives of kids I would advise going to stores and loading up cups (for filler) with eyes and junk until they run out (if we all do it) so that the Pick-A-Model's are effectively ruined, they are the worst value ever, you can have about 7 pick a models if you just jam the parts in a cup and more other parts. Not so sure what I'm going to do with 100 wrenches, but whatever they're mine now. So much green stuff because of pick a model, they have the alligator thing and the off-road vehicle right now.

My parentals were always of the thrifty variety. They bought me 190 as my first set. It was "New" as in MISB when I got it, but it was at least 4-6 years old when I received it (the set pre-dates my birth by 3 full years). The best I can tell I never went through a Duplo phase. Unfortunately my sister never went through a lego stage, and only got Duplo because I refused to hand down my lego. 190 is a pretty "handsome" set, the thing that I cannot get over is the friggin' massive people. That and the simple fact that the house is dwarfed by current lego ratio standards. It was weird growing up with massive people while my friends all had minifigs.

The lady at Purolator (package carrier) shook the box of Lego that I was signing for and told me be careful your kids will get that stuff all over the carpet and it'll hurt like heck when you step on it. I just thanked her nodded and smiled.

On Saturday night I tried to introduce Lego to something that could best be described as a non-traditional Lego venue and when I did some horrible fat guy yelled at me. He screamed: "WHO BROUGHT LEGO???, THAT STUFF HURTS!!!!" at the top of his lungs. I just kinda sunk back into my chair and refused eye contact, and I don't think that anyone was the wiser. Has this oppression ever happened to anyone else here??? I was going to detail what happened, but someone happened to be videoing something else - perhaps unrelated and you catch this transaction right at the tail end of the video. It kinda spoiled the night for me (just so that no one here thinks that I'm exaggerating or something).

Another 6392 - this time with box!! This will make 3 entire sets of 9-stud runways. I actually don't mind this problem.

My car is having some massive grounding issues. I was hoping to take it on a trip this weekend, but it keeps powering down completely when I'm turning the key. Getting a new negative cable and seeing if that will help. It was working fine until I swapped batteries (that was the first cause of issues), while putting the airbox back in (yes you have to do this to change the battery) the friction on the ground portion of the battery cable caused some havoc.

Just a short update, some new white plates arrived via S@H enabling me to finally finish one of my projects: The 6392 coloured jet is now the same length as my transcon 2 passenger jet which is already 4 studs oversized allowing 8 passengers. There's small differences in the tail necessitated by colour heights, and I've moved the wings up 2 studs from where they were on the Transcon/2 passenger jet otherwise the differences are minimal. Makes for a very sharp jet actually, I much prefer the wings moved up a notch as they were.

If you have a fat "J" at the one end of your shelving you might be able to get a loop in there so that you can have the train change elevations and complete the circuit as a subway / ground / raised level, it would create more purpose for your line.

They need to introduce "Jack Stone" styled building to modulars, they take far too much time to build. We desperately need those massive people back that you have to build torsos and lego on to. Why did lego invent grille and transparent pieces when they already had a 1 X 4 brick with metal printing on it indicating both. Yellow castles are more historically accurate.

I just got a huge shipment from my US warehouse along with some things delivered directly to my address. I got the switches at the post office today and the COO of my US warehousing operations made this for me, his talents are quite extreme when it comes to lego. I really want to start a thread for this MOC creation, but not sure of the theme in terms of where this belongs, suggestion. As you can see, its incredibly detailed down to the double-headed mental patient trapped inside. Thoughts??

That doesn't really bother me. I just want to have a PF train that can wander into 12V land where there would be a completely seperate loop, so non-uniform lengths wouldn't really get to me too upset. I would never put the power rail in on the PF sections.
