  1. I am all in for variety - thats why I am quite content with the marbled parrot, however I have to agree that the printed parrot looks more interesting Lego should generally add more variety to their animals, more different animals and more differences within a species (wishful thinking I know)
  2. Well, I probably wouldnt have created a thread to make it known to the world but since there was already a thread and its a current matter I thought I could contribute :) - didnt necessarily feel tension or anger - but still you are right, you have to make the problem known to the lego company and I will mention it during my next phone order which will be tomorrow. Its not the end of the world, though, horses are still available via bap but a little bit more expensive - and I like not to waste money if not strictly necessary.
  3. Just checked - the animals section is basically gone , was preparing to buy some horses :) :(
  4. Just out of curiosity I bought the airjitzu temple last year right when it came out. - The set has a quantity limit of 1 - I have been toying with the idea of buying a second set in order to build a complete temple and might actually do it one day - now after reading this I am a little bit worried. Could this make them think I am a reseller and black flag me?
  5. You're kidding!!!!!!!! That would be awesome - have to try it out right tomorrow...
  6. I agree! Its not that I find bricks and pieces terrible or that the shipping price was to high or something, I think its the normal thinking of a customer - when you get pab shipped for free (at a certain threshhold) AND VIP points, then you feel a little shortchanged when you have to pay for shipping and get no VIP points - other than that I like it very much and have placed lots of orders over the course of the year :). These are just minor complaints - it just could be even more awesome :)
  7. That would be most awesome - the bricks and pieces site is quite annoying to handle IMHO. You have to manually type the number of the element you want to purchase - some pieces which are 'sold out' become available when you call them. And of course you have to pay for the shipping whereas pab is free at 50 EUR and you get vip points. Some pieces are more expensive on pab and vice versa. But in the end its good to have bap around considering how limited pab is. Btw it has never been so difficult to order a bap bag than today, I guess too many people ordered stuff after the winter break
  8. I called them - what they mean is that if you order more than 200 items of one element (bap order) - prices dont change
  9. http://www.lego.com/en-gb/aboutus/news-room/2016/january/adjusted-guidelines-for-bulk-sales I just read that article. Can non-lug related people buy in bulk from Lego? Has anyone here tried to buy in bulk? Whats the minimum quantity? Whats to know?
  10. pab orders are send from Poland whereas bap orders are sent from Billund and yes, I agree it becomes increasingly difficult to find those useful bricks - if pab had the same bricks as bap it would be dreamland,
  11. https://wwwsecure.us.lego.com/en-us/service Bricks & Pieces Bricks & Pieces purchases won't be available between December 13 and the end of January. I hope it opens on Monday!
  12. I either buy sets or make pab or bap orders I started out last year, I bought a couple of creator sets and got more and more into 'historic' lego like pirates, castle and western (lone ranger), even bought the airjitzu temple. In between I bought a lot bap and pab packs - foliage elements, sloping elements etc., sometimes there was a sale at the local supermarekts so I bought some small star wars sets, elves sets etc. Needless to say I invested quite a bit last year :) This year I decided to try operating with a budget of roughly 500 EUR. In regard to sets I want to buy only stuff that has good value for me - if I can give you an advise dont take the price per peace ratio at face value - there are usually a lot of small pieces in a set and chances are the majority of which will not come in handy for you any time soon, rather check the set on brickset and see for yourself if a given set makes sense to you - buying individual bricks doesnt need to more expensive - just add a lot of small (and useful) elements and you should be roughly on the same level! The most important thing for me have become the minifigs - my goal is create some historic mocs and whatever I would like to create is somewhat limited by the figs that I own - I mean if I were to create a medieval farm but didnt have any villagers and farm animals (which I dont) what sense would it make? So right now I am basically on the lookout for sets which contain such figs - and unfortunately there arent any at the moment and probably not anytime soon because of the nexo knights theme which is definitely not partial to, minifigs and partswise. In this regard the price the per peace ratio doesnt matter to me - I want the figs and take whatever comes with them. In the meantime I will be trying things out with the bricks that I have accumulated and see what kind of bricks I might need in the future - buying some individuall bricks from lego from time to time. This might sound like a slow approach but it will save some money which I might invest once some desired sets come out. In the end I think it depends on what your building plans are - mine are history related and new sets have become few and far between these days - making me regret that I didnt start earlier with lego. So if you are into city building or Technic or something this approach might not be very helpful to you.
  13. Hey there guys My name is Andrew, I live in Poland, and became a Lego fan about a year ago. At first I was interested in Lego City and started with some creator sets, but due to watching lots of mocs on the internet my interest in building history related Lego was born and I invested in castle, pirates and lone ranger sets, as these were the only stuff available for a reasonable price back then (I dont want to overpay for retired sets) I must admit that I am not a very talented or creative builder and dont have too much time to develope my building skills. Yet, I hope that with time I will be able to present some mocs on the forum :) As of right now I dont see any sets coming out soon that could fall into my building plans (nexo knights is definitely not for me). My plan for this year is to buy a second set of the airjitzu temple and build a complete temple - probably a larger diorama if time and money permits. Hope to spend some nice time here!
