  1. I bought myself some transparent 1x1 plates (medium blue and dark blue) at a lego store recently - now I am trying to figure out which baseplates to use in order to get the best effect. Which color would you suggest? Bright blue? Medium Azure? I even thought about reddish brown...
  2. Get the pab cup!!! There is definitely space for at least 500 leaves. Keep in mind however, that the leaves create lots of empty space, you should max out space with small elements. Dont know about the tiles though
  3. Oh, so they replaced some pab containers with those pam things? I am planning to go to vienna (hopefully) this week, been there last month, visited both shops, they had more or less the same stuff. Just btw was it you who has updated the http://www.brickbuil...tore/?store=122 vienna store site? :)
  4. Any premonintions? Actually I dont care about what happens to my things after I die. Death is the ultimate experience, its inevitable. In death Lego becomes a bit pointless, as most other things. Some people believe in life after death, I believe in the resurrection in Christ - one way or the other, we wont be able to take our Lego with us! :)
  5. I dont consider myself a collector, nor a builder (my building skills are rather on the lower end of the barrel). I am interested in historic lego like castles and pirates. What got me into it? Viewing MOCs on the internet. When I was a child a had one of those lego castles :) my mother actually didnt like lego too much so she didnt buy me a lot of it. Anyway when I viewed those MOCs I thought this is gonna be easy, when I started I realized that I didnt have enought bricks when I got more bricks I realized that I either lacked the skills or didnt have enough bricks. Right now I have more bricks, but not enough :), my skills improved, but not enough.
  6. How did you figure it out? I tried but couldnt... (dont judge me! :) ) Anyway I just called them yesterday and explained that I wasnt able to figure it out (maybe I was missing something) as I placed my order via phone they just gave me that free shipping option. Just call them, should be ok! They are always very nice and glad to help!
  7. I was wondering if there is a limit on pab cups. I mean, how many cups can buy at one time? For now I have always bought just one cup as there werent too many useful bricks at the store. What was the maximum number of cups you ever bought at one time??
  8. Derfel definitely raised the bar - one of the best castle builders IMHO (if not the best). Wonder what a huge diorama build by him would look like...
  9. THanks for the info! I guess I will have to wait until derfels book releases.
  10. I am thinking about buying the mags digitally. Could anyone tell me how big and detailed derfels articles are? I mean, is it like two pages, or ten pages.? On brickset there a double page displayed...
  11. Come to think about it, I have a couple of city figs that I dont really care about, maybe I should replace those hands, however, I have read somewhere that lego doesnt endorse this as they might break or something, anyone ever tried replacing hands? Like re-modelling fleshy figs into yellow ones or vice versa? did it just replaced the hands on all minifigs; btw the hands were kinda tough to remove compared to the donor figs :)
  12. I bought a total of six minifigs and all of them have this sort of hands... its not a major issue to be honest, but still... fact is I realized it at home and if I had know about it before I would have still bought them as those kind of torsos are hard to come by for me (at least for a decent price)
  13. http://s9.postimg.or...bp9r/hands1.jpg http://s29.postimg.o...89uv/hands2.jpg http://s11.postimg.o...4moj/hands3.jpg the difference in size is of course very subtle, its not like its doubled in size or something, but still noticeable, what do you think? its kinda difficult to see I guess - so if anyone purchased those minifigs lately, please check if you can see a difference in hand size compared to figs released in a set
  14. I had the opportunity to visit a lego store and bought, besides some pab cups, a few minifigs. At home I noticed that all of these figs have bigger than usual hands. Anyone noticed the same?
  15. Really looking forward to your book! Hope it will really contain every tip, technique and guides could be a masterpiece! Any idea when it might be ready - like this year maybe :) Keep up the good work!
  16. wow! I would definitely be interested in getting that book! dont like buying magazines if I am just interested in a fraction of it. Any details regarding that book?
  17. This tutorial was definitely inspiring - any chance you will make another tutorial in the future? In regard to your most recent builds?
  18. :) When I started with lego I thought about spending as little as possible, but I found myself buying quite a lot. For example, I made a pab order and in the meantime discovered that I needed other bricks, placed a new one, and guess what? In the meantime I discovered that I needed different bricks :) lol I spend way too much. The good thing is, I have lots of bricks right now that I can experiment with. Another good thing is that I am basically just interested in historic lego, pirates, castle, western, and there is nothing coming out this year (apparently) its actually a bad thing IMHO cause I would like to buy a couple of sets but its gonna be good for my wallet. And in regard to this I will try to keep a 500 EUR budget for this year - which I am going to spend on individual bricks (pab, bap) - spend already 125 EUR lol Will see how that one turns out maybe as an advise: You should really think about what you are really interested in, I said I am only interested in historic lego, that is true, but still, I would like to build a lego city as well, and star wars could be fun as well :) However, I dont think I have the resources, the space, and the time to invest in all kinds of themes, so I just picked what I am most interested in and go with it :)
  19. It seems you have got to be one of the chosen few these days in order to get something from the lego shop :) lol
  20. If it says comepleted then it means its shipped - you should call them and tell em about it - or check your email again as you should have received a note that it has actually shipped After its shipped they gonna charge your credit card and you receive an email with a proper invoice
  21. Yeah, prices are a mystery in general - check the prices for the alligator and the chicken - they are basically the same - the alligator consists of three parts, all of them larger than this chicken :) :)
  22. Its all just business, and its up to the individual to pay the price or make do without a desired set, and thats it. Lego on the other hand could re-release certain sets that are in high demand. I would like to see certain castle sets (market village, village raid) and the lego western theme re-released. But hey, if they dont, then they dont.
  23. Awesome!!! I am a huge zelda fan myself!!!
  24. @Dosenbrot How did this whole thing work out in the end? Did they revoke the ban?
  25. It worked - I could kick my xxx when I think about how many bricks and pieces orders I made that I had to pay shipping for, that would have been so many bricks... :) this trick is awesome!
