[pid][/pid]199C Hello again my fellow pirates, I have found this brilliant build whilst sailing the web and thought you all might like to see it By Elena on Brickshelf
-
I like the idea of combining the two large sets for Dragon Masters, I'll have to dig mine out again and give it a try
-
A friend on bricklink pointed out this image as well sure its not much of a castle but its still interesting and I have never seen it before

Me 2

wow guys cheers for the positive feedback, its really nice of all of you Ardelon I like your explaintion as to why the shields are the same, i remember you mentioning it before, I think I will have to include that in the post as well (as a little side comment ) From what alot of you are saying the review is pretty accurate, which is good because I agonised for ages over my conclusion for these guy, initally my view was a little harsh, but the more I looked at the sets the more I liked them and both the larger ones are much better in person than on paper, whiched surprise me alot. Though I do like the alternate builds alot for some of these sets Nagyzee you echo my own thoughts before I delved into the Dragon Masters world, though I can't forgive the lack of door oversite on the workshop alot of the other sets are great once you see them in person and I agree some of the heads are not brilliant hwoever we needed this stage of development to get what we had now, not all stages of evolution are pretty if you do get a chance to pick up any of these sets from a reasonable price (I got my Dragon den in a car boot for Β£15, though it was missing the Dragon) give it a go you might find your view changing cheers all

As alot of you know I have my head firmly in the past when it comes to my LEGO Love. Well on one of my regular searches for something interesting I found this little picture. Its from The LEGO idea Book 238-1 from 1963 (Link here) and a link of the actual picture is here The Pic The Castle I was wondering if this is the oldest castle LEGO made (even if they didn't sell it as a set) or if anyone can top this pic. the challenge is on for anyone to fine any older pictures by LEGO of castles. Cheers guys

I really like the barracuda in this, its like the old meeting the new in a beautiful combination. I possibly would have posed the figs in a bit more of a frantic way (they are getting attacked by a Kraken) but thats just me. Its a brilliant Moc

Hello again all, another interesting find on the wonderful world of the web is below, a brilliant little build by The Incinerator14, I thought I would use his words to introduce it. "As you can see I got into the POTC theme, I am planning on making a series of mocs that relate to the Pirates of the Caribbean theme and to real life events. The First small diorama I made is called The Last Stand. It is based on the real life death of Blackbeard and the new POTC movie On Stranger Tides, at the hands of Robert Maynard is this case he is replaced by privateer Hector Barbossa who wants to avenge the lost of his leg at the hands of Blackbeard. After attacking Barbossa's ship Blackbeard boards the vessel only to find out that it is a trap,an epic duel ensues between the infamous pirate and the privateer Barbossa, is this the feared pirate's last stand? [pid][/pid]194D Forbidden Cove and Flickr Member Trevor Van Aalst created this wonderful little deserted outpost for the jolly rodger contest (on Forbidden Cove) and I thought that its so rare we all get to see the Armada (especially in such dire straights) that we should all get the opertunity to enjoy it as well. Yeah I know, but it has to be named something, also if it is found in the future by someone else (for example a new blogger or scout) on flickr then they will type in the name in the word press search and come up with this, they will then know its been done before.

I really like the little coastal village vibe to this build, its nice to see a small managable number of bricks combined into something really interesting, the houses are a little small but I like the way the whole scene is put together.

[pid][/pid]196A Flickr Member MBB_bros (that's possibly two people ) have created this truley wonderful fort, everything about it is fantastic and I hope you all enjoy. Pirates 2 by MMB_bros cheers all

Brillaint builds again Horry you do have a talent for Land based mocs. I really like the first build, its a huge improvement on the orignal set and it feels compact yet spacious (I love the staircases, so simple yet so pretty) The trading post as well is fantastic, I love the fire at the end of the docks, one question though why did you choose to use the green raisedplate rather than the blue one (the orignal one for the trading post), its nice don't get me wrong I am just curious. And I agree the last picture is book worthy. Very nice

This build is definatly Blog worthy well done, its such a nice ship with so much life to it, it feels like an upgraded Imperial Flagship (Meaning its something that TLC might acually build) I am almost envious that you have this in the real world and I only get to see it in picture form. Brilliant ship
-
I really like your little hut in this set, one question how do you get the boat to stay on as a roof, as I really want to recreat some of these for my own pirate builds (a couple of these on a shore line would look like great fishermens huts), is it bricked on or does it just rest on top. brilliant build all round though
-
This is a really good build, I am always rooting for the redcoats but in this case I want the pirates to escape, you manage to capture a nice physicality with your fig poses it really brings it all to life. great build
-
This is a nice little moc, I love the poses you have (espically the fig offering the grey falcon, which is similar to the one offering the golden one it the painting). I agree that you need to take pictures with a white background, but I also like this one outdoors its nice and fresh and casts some interesting shadows on the figs. great work
-
So many ships!! so much beauty, I love the half sunk one. Cheers for this
-
In really like this build, I love the sturdy feel of it, I am sure it could handle a cannon ball or two thrown its way, I also like the top hats on the figs, I have loads of those kicking around yet I new use them (now I might). Don't be too hard on yourself Horry this is a good build be proud you do ideed have talent
-
Theres a link to the whole book (if fact all the idea books) at the end of my post on my blog. Your right about all the other theme ideas but I decided to place all the pirates ones together for this pirate site, that mismash of all the themes at the back of the book was actually a theme in its own right know as time crusiers, they made some strange if interesting sets. I am little jelious you have the orignal book that must be cool. Cheers all

I really like this build, its just so active yet perfectly neat, tidy and professional looking The soldier saving the baby is a particular highlight,as is the burning building and robbers on the roof. Thanks for building this its great (secretly I want the bluecoats to win )
