LDD 4.3.12 update could be possible??
M2m replied to CorvusA's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
given that the link doesn’t provide too many useful alternatives (SR3D from 2014 will most certainly also not run on Catalina) I hope it was just an uninformed ‘support drone’ to answer. -

I’m on the same ship. Currently I won’t upgrade macOS however. Keeping iTunes ain’t too bad. -
LDD 4.3.12 update could be possible??
M2m replied to CorvusA's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
If you trust a random stranger from the internet I have put 4.3.11 here: windows: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qzIoAAUBAcaHVe8gVwXxLl1s0P76o0_D/view?usp=drivesdk mac: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oXpQ1bJhErr5gEiR-PkHv2-jHZ9Yvzuv/view?usp=drivesdk I also urge/ suggest to contact LEGO support to look into this. The more report the more likely it is they fix it - and maybe even release a new version -
Many thanks for the correction. Yes markup language makes more sense. Mel Scripts are part of Maya which is a 3D Software used by many companies (including LEGO). Nice to meet you. It would be nice if LEGO would: provide their software (or open source it) to ‘convert’ lxfml files to text based instructions. Provide updates (or open source) LDD so people can continue to create lxf(ml) files.

Custom LDD bricks and fixes
M2m replied to Equilibrium's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Equilibrium I wonder where the connection data of parts is stored in the .g* files or in the xml. I would like to use the connection data to add a Lego-Logo on studs (on my renderman / obj converter), thinking that studs are connections. -
pyldd2obj.py - a lxf to obj converter
M2m replied to M2m's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Is it different bricks overlapping and sharing faces ? I guess this is ‘normal’. The script just takes the 3D data as it comes from LDD. I guess one could add a scaling matrix to ‘shrink’ every brick by 1-2% to remove overlapping - if this is the overlapping problem you refer to. -

Are you sure the file pyldd2obj.py is in the same directory as where you currently in ? -

Strange. I do as follows 1) Download the python script (obviously) 2) Change python script to executable: My-MBP:Downloads user$ chmod +x pyldd2obj.py 3) Execute Script My-MBP:Downloads user$ ./pyldd2obj.py /Users/user/Documents/LEGO\ Creations/Models/Treasure_Chest.lxf test_out 4) Output: - - - pyldd2obj - - - _ [_] /| |\ ()'---' C | | | [=|=] - - - - - - - - - - - - DB Version: 2670 Database OK. Output should be in the same location as where the python script resides. -

If I remember correctly LDD uses LUA internally. Maybe the LUA parts also need to be LAA aware ?
