  1. No I didn't, I said it looked a little bigger and utilised one of the new "stud blaster" weapons on the back so you could fire the harpoon, which i thought was a neat feature ... :P
  2. I'd totally forgotten that there was an AT-AT released in 2010. I never bought it, because it wasn't as good as 4483, in my opinion. Looking at the pic of 8129 on Brickset vs my hazy memories of yesterday, I would say the new one and 8129 are similar sized, but both smaller than 4483.
  3. I didn't note the piece counts. They weren't listed by the sets themselves. They might have been on the prelim boxes that were on a shelf, but I didn't inspect those. Also, I am comparing it to the 4483 version of the AT-AT. That's the one I have at home. That had 1068 pieces, so if the piece count of 1138 is right, that's only a difference of 70. Maybe the difference is in the greebling and use of technic pieces in the legs? Obviously, I didn't have the two side by side to compare, it's just that it seemed the main body and head were slightly smaller in the new version.
  4. As stated in the original article, the minifigures were not at the fair. Only a small 2D picture of them and as I don't have an identikit memory, I can't answer this in the detail you want! Sorry ...
  5. Yes, that was one of the ships I saw yesterday ... I really didn't think much of it! I wrote the report on FBTB, so if you have questions, please ask and I will try my best to remember the details ... obviously you need to remember that I have NOTHING to refer to other than an audio recording of whatever I or the presenters were saying about whatever set it was they were holding at the time! I've posted some answers to the questions asked on FBTB in the thread over there, too. One correction regarding the B wing ... it does NOT come with a Y Wing pilot ... I meant B Wing!
  6. So, I'm having a bit of a clear-out of sets, mostly Star Wars. All sets are used, but in very good condition, unless otherwise stated. I generally build, display and then carefully pack away in ziplock bags, with minifigures, windscreens (and the like) and stickered items put in separate bags. All sets have instructions in near mint condition. All sets have boxes, should you want them, although that may increase postage. Prices could be negotiated. 10123 Cloud City (including ALL figures) OFFERS 8088 ARC-170 Starfighter £40 7675 AT-TE Walker £85 7930 Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship £35 (stickers not applied, still mint on the sheet) 8128 Cad Bane's Speeder £40 8098 Clone Turbo Tank £115 8095 General Grievous’ Starfighter £54 9491 Geonosian Cannon £16 used or £18 MISB 7959 Geonosian Starfighter £23 7915 Imperial V-wing Starfighter £18 8093 Plo Koon’s Jedi Starfighter £25 7676 Republic Attack Gunship £130 8019 Republic Attack Shuttle £42 7931 T-6 Jedi Shuttle £45 (sticks not applied, still mint on the sheet) 8039 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser £120 7674 V-19 Torrent £42 4475 Jabba's Message £23 4476 Jabba's Prize £22 4480 Jabba's Palace £75 4500 Rebel Snowspeeder £35 40083 Holiday Set 2013 2 of 2 £15 MISB Just let me know if you're interested :) Thanks
  7. Since when does anyone actually use the links posted in threads like to actually buy stuff? If you had any sense, you'd take the hints given here, use your own account on a cashback site to buy the product and get both the discounted set *and* the cashback for yourself?!
  8. 20% off all Lego at very.co.uk ... LINK And Sainsburys are doing 50% off some sets ... I picked up 9470 Shelob Attacks and 9497 Republic Striker-class Starfighter both at this price.
  9. I believe we were told August at the UK Toy Fair yesterday. There was no mention that the UK or Europe won't see Galaxy Squad.
  10. Hi ... I'm looking for the following decals ... can anyone help me ? A cricketer torso decal, along the lines of a standard cricket jumper and leg decals, along the lines of cricket batting pads. A footballer decal, torso and legs, along the lines of the Liverpool FC kit.
  11. I got several e-mails from them about it ... maybe you're not registered with them ?
  12. I hope you didn't buy Palpatines Arrest from them, since it's £20 more expensive there than S@H ?!
  13. According to the Lego Press Release for today, it's when they founded the production company to make toys. Either way, here's a little vig I made of Ole Kirk Kristiansen (or is it Christiansen?!) making wooden toys! I hope you like it ? Happy 80th Birthday Lego! by bigospedros, on Flickr It's loosely based on the pics found here
  14. Just thought I'd share my display for these figs ... simple, but quite effective I think :) Lego Team GB Olympic Minifigures Display by bigospedros, on Flickr
  15. you'll most likely need to pay VAT on that ... plus the postage won't be cheap. I'd wait for a sale when they're out here if I were you ... you can almost without fail get at least 20% off sets in the UK if you wait a few months after release.
  16. Read this ... http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/customs/index.htm But you may be liable for Customs Duty and Import VAT depending on the value of the goods. Since the LOTR sets will be available in the UK soon enough, why not just wait ?
  17. Quidco is the same, although you should remember that the cashback is paid on the price of the item not including VAT, so you won't get £5 cashback from a £100 spend. For Example ... I recently ordered the Town Hall set for £149.99. The Cashback was calculated on £124.99 (since 20% of £124.99 is £24.99). So, 5% of £124.99 is £6.25 and that's the cashback I'll eventually receive. They don't pay cashback on any delivery charges either, in case you're wondering ...
  18. Why not just subscribe to the thread, because then you get an e-mail any time anyone posts in the thread ... it allows me to spot deals quicker once they're posted.
  19. Thanks ... 25% off is enough to make me go for this set :)
  20. You couldn't do that ... no store is legally bound to sell something at the price advertised on the shelf, if it was a genuine mistake. They might offer the misprice as a gesture of goodwill, but since they don't have to, your chances are slim. To quote Martin Lewis from MoneySavingExpert Shops aren't obliged to sell anything to anyone. If a £200 Nintendo has a £10 price tag, it can refuse to sell at that price. Once you've paid in-store, it's effectively a done deal (online it's once delivered). If the mis-price is deliberate not an error, it's a criminal offence, so report to Trading Standards. You can see more here, particularly, search for the twisty section called "If goods are mispriced – can I force them to sell it me at that price?" http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/consumer-rights-refunds-exchange
  21. Spend £15 or more on Star Wars Lego in TRU at the moment and you'll get 30057 Anakin's Podracer mini set for free :)
  22. Tesco has 25% off 3 of the larger sets from the Harry Potter, Star Wars and Pirates of the Caribbean ranges, but are also offering £10 off any £75 or more spend, thus reducing the sets prices further. Use code TDX-7PKF. Links are below : 4195 : Pirates Of The Caribbean Queen Annes Revenge (sale price of £66 after the discount code) 7964 : Star Wars Republic Frigate (sale price of £69 after the discount code) 4842 Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle (sale price of £67 after the discount code)
  23. I didn't have time to list the figs when I saw the set at the Toy Fair, but from the dealer catalogue, it appears they're counting Han in Carbonite as one of the 10 figures as well as the actual Han figure :S
  24. He'll be referring to the store calendar ... you can get that from the Lego website http://stores.lego.com/en-us/Westfield%20Stratford/events.aspx
