Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
Tanotrooper replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Or maybe the colour scheme is meant for a halloween theme :-P Not attractive at all. I'll pick up the smallest I think, just for the monster. The part choices remind me of dino quest or dino 2010. TT EDIT: if the monster in the large set is black or purple, we have 5 colours if not 4. -
I bought my ticket yesterday, hope everything's allright :-) I'll probaply won't win, but it's for EB TT

Sturmgeschütz III Ausf. G German WWII assault gun
Tanotrooper replied to Aaron Morse's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Well, the German trains that carried the Tiger I(I) needed a larger train to transport it and therefore needed an extra rails (about half the size as the main rails) next to it in order to get the train rolling No such problems with the Panzer (1-4) Models though (I don't know exactly for the Panther though) TT -
Sturmgeschütz III Ausf. G German WWII assault gun
Tanotrooper replied to Aaron Morse's topic in Special LEGO Themes
But for your Tiger you'll need seperate tracks beside the main tracks ;) It looks good, a pity about the tracks, couldn't you have used 2 of the smallest type beside eachother? (or does that give problem with the wheels?) The frontal armour on next to the gun is too low though. TT -
The different prices on LEGO in the US vs. Europe
Tanotrooper replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
"Take a parrot, learn him the line "supply and demand" and you have an economist." You have to be reasonable with your prices. If this keeps going on there will be more supply and less European demand. Not profitable either isn't it ;) TT -
A problem I had many times: the hook of pirate/baron von baron breaks easily even just by turning it. With the new pirate line in concern, please make these stronger. (like the 4+ pirate captain's hook) It would be greatly appreciated :) Also, could you make non-minifig parts in flesh, the wingless dwarf helmet in dark bley, black, tan etc. and the cheese slopes in more colours (looking at tan) ? TT

What New Themes or Sets would you like TLG to make?
Tanotrooper replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I didnt see it in the list, a Roman theme. Firstly based on the military side, later on a town set like the new castle set for example with a market, temple etc. Otherwise an "ancient" theme including Romans, Greeks, Egyptians, etc. TT also, anything military (from any times) subtily included in other lines would be greatly appreciated :D -
I'm only going as visitor saterday the... 18th? Sadly the vacation in Holland is one week ahead af that in Belgium TT hmm... I'm over 500 posts :-D

that's a 4*4 plate round (like in the good wizard impukse set) Bad part is that you have to remove the minifig's legs in order to put him on it... A very nice tank, where does it see action? Western front, Eastern front, North Africa? I'm making something similar at the moment ;-) TT

Wasting my Time with LEGO (and Loving it)
Tanotrooper replied to zenaiid's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Then isn't thinking about this subject all the time a waste of time too? I'm sure that people who have much less than you would want you to enjoy your life, to enjoy the things you have rather than wasting that life thinking about them... Be happy with your life, hobbies such as LEGO, etc. If you want to spend money on charity, go ahead, it's the money you worked for, and if you wish to spend it on LEGO, then no one else can complain because you deserved it. BTW 500 USD for a large house and food for a year? What country are you speaking of then? Most problems in countries such as in Africa etc. have a historical point of view: -European colonists settled in parts of Africa, Australia, Indonesia etc. -The more or less native tribes there lived like they did for thousands of years. -We put our European system upon them. -The system kind of (cf how some people were treated over there) worked under European control. -We are forced to leave thanks to new laws etc. (about half 20th century, some before and some after) -The former colony countries have the European system, but no experience to lead it (because Europeans left). -Things start to get messy, with poverty and hunger rising etc. If we left/leave them alone in the way they used to live, they will stabilize. By giving enormous amounts of money to charity to develop these countries will keep on forcing them to live by the Western standards. We will never raise enough money to make those countries like the Western countries, ruled by experienced politicians etc. (most politicians are only there for the money) Those are my thoughts. It's your life and money, you may do with it as you wish. TT -
Buying Pirate LEGO - where to buy, advice, tips and questions
Tanotrooper replied to Mr. Smee's topic in LEGO Pirates
My friend, wait until the new pirates arrive unless you find a cheap deal. The prices might then be lower than they are now. ;-) TT- 502 replies

2009 will be the greatest year for LEGO yet. Lots of new ideas for sets (like the themed bricks + minifigs set), the return of "minifig packs", the fedora in tan and black, clones and silver IG's for small budget, long lost and rare minfigs return, the return of Pirates of course, the return of old parts, great creator sets and the commemeration of 10 years LEGO Star Wars in the first license vehicle I ever got. (must buy for nostalgic reasons) LEGO, you rock. Period. TT what I don't like: the complete black wheels in the Ferrari set and the fact they can put a swastika in the catalog but not on the flying wing itself...

looks like a great set, I'm in for the raffle :) TT

Hey all, I finally found a design for our beloved samurai! I wanted his head to be rectangular, and I remembered a technique I used for a Patrick minifig before LEGO made Spongebob. Let's get to the pics: black katana for sword in sheath HIIIYYYAAAAHH grey katana as sword and black 4L bar as sheath shows the design of the head. Minifig hand represents the little needle-like thing Jack uses to keep his hair together I will be adding other characters and MOCs etc to this thread, so please MODs dont move this to the minifig customisation forum C and C are of course alway welcome! TT

I finally got around making a early 18th century English grenadier wich used the mitre hat. (based on a metal figure): I used an upside down beard. (I asume with a halberd he is a NCO?) TT

I hope the sets in August include German soldiers with dark gray uniforms... (perhaps a new stahlhelm mold? ) Not that much uses for the DAK torsos. A man can dream though, a man can dream... TT

But I love my animated GIF oh well, I'll take it away Adult is presumed 18 years and older... In some parts of the world thats 21 and in earlier times (Antiquity) people were adult around 14 years and older (Romeo and Juliet were young teens aswell) Anyway, I joined Eurobricks because it's the first place where news appears. The EB community is a very friendly and amusing community, as I enjoyed the original ideas such as a "whacking contest" etc. I hope I have contributed to this community, and shall continue with my efforts. (Such as the Roman mafia game, although I'll wait until one of the history forum's other games is over.) Tanotrooper EDIT: just saw that Hinckley removed it

I bought the original Republic gunship for 25€... glued though... Hmm... should hang it on my ceiling or something TT
