Hey everyone, appearently some white minifig vests just disappeared from Bricklink, without any sale info or so... So, I'm calling out to my fellow EB'ers: Do any of you have white minifig vests (with or without stickers) wich they would like to sell/trade? BTW, I'm talking about these: If you want to discuss a sell/trade, post here or better yet, send me a PM I'm also looking for dark grey/bley screwdrivers. Thanks a lot for the attention and have a happy Easter (well, what's left of it) Tanotrooper

Sash would usually be worn over the belt, so no belt was to be seen although this would usually be with officers. TT
-
Very nice work, beautifully painted as usual. My opinion is the rifle is a tad too long, since these were really short weapons. How did you make the rifle's flintlock? TT
-
Even though not very present at statues and paintings, I suppose having nails through your feet would have a lot of blood involved. Mary is usually symbolized by a blue cloath and white hood, that's why I tried to maintain that tradition. TT Hmm do starfish have nipples?
-
Thank you for the critcism. The torso is Patrick's torso, the dots aren't representing nipples in any way, just something AFOLs made up seeing the torso. The figures I used here are my TTfigs, They use 1*1 tooth plate as feet, that's why it looks like a fishtail. (thought it looked like a mermaid aswell :P ) The headpiece is supposed to be a scarf. It's something I quickly threw together, since there's no similar official piece. Thanks again, TT

These prices are riducoulos... insanely low. You sure are lucky 5 dollars for that IJ set... would buy a lot of those. TT

Thanks, the thorn crown has the hardest to attach, the halo was next Too bad IJ has a smirk, takes the sincerity away. TT

Finally an update! and others! link: flickr TT -
"Panzergrenadiere, vorwärts zum Siege voran! ..." Very nice custom, like all of your WWII customs. You must have a very steady hand. TT

A MOC for this holiday: Flickr with more shots TT

Very nice, you captured the shape perfectly. Some parts remind me of Sfdzk's version (hope I spelled it right), but the main gun is better. Good job, TT

Very nice customs. The PPSh is from BA I suppose? (lovely painted) Keep on the good work! TT -
playing Buzz Killington: the Königstiger would have the Porsche turret instead of the production one in Normandy 1944 Indeed, a nice group. I've got 2 weeks now, hoping it's enough to finish my own Tiger II. TT

My god sir, may I congratulate you not only on this magnificient ship, but also on finding an effective, simple bayonet design? Those are nice sewn sails, my very first ship MOC included a hand sewn sail and I know the work that goes into them. TT

You searched my name on CC? For the classic minifigure, you can do a lot with the legs. You can turn them around to make a minifg "kneel" with both legs, or remove one leg and place it in front of the minifig while he sits on the other to make a "one leg kneeling" pose. Here's an example wich can be done by using the TTfig technique: kneeling A realistic sitting pose can also be acquired through this technique. I haven't tried the rubber band between arms technique, but I suppose these only work with older torsos? (without the inner frame) If you want to use realistic looking aiming shots or so, try removing one of the arms and placing it where it should be. It isn't attached to the body, but looks great! I'd suggest trying out different ideas to find the one you're looking for. I'll try to reanact the poses you have put here, and see how it'll turn out. :-) TT

Great and not so great colours
Tanotrooper replied to 3.14 Toasts's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I like the flesh colours, dark tan, dark blue, greys, tan, white, dark brown, dark green, ... I love using the newer colours of greys and brown as they seem more clean. (quality is something different) Frankly, the only colours I hate are the ones that don't have a lot of pieces or all have useless pieces. for example: certain pinks, medium green, light yellow, ... I really love the metallic colours, pearl colours a bit less but still great. I hate the chrome colours because of the fact they peel off over time... only good for collectibles and the like. I'm beginning to like normal blue not as much as I used to, as most uses for it have been replaced by either dark blue or medium blue. TT -
VERY nice work! It looks very smooth and the seats are the best part TT

Which torsos do you find the most use for
Tanotrooper replied to Shoc's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
The Jar Jar Binks torso. Very useful as peasants etc. throughout various periods of history. TT -
Indeed a nice MOC looking at the pictures, LEGO missed their shot at making a Stahlmhelm... We can hope right? TT

Well yes, this is the point that it's so hard to build up a decent army because they're all different (with LEGO mainly episode III clones) I'm mostly annoyed that the episode II clones, wich were always shown in white armour throughout the clone wars comics etc. suddenly have personal markings on them etc. This doesn't add up: -Clone wars cartoons: Only the ARC troopers and Cody, Fordo are shown with such markings. (of course pilots and scuba clones are differently coloured as a class.) The series go straight to the beginning of episode III, and we only see plain clone troopers. (Phase I and II) -The clone wars series (now) : Phase I clones have markings, haven't seen plain so far. My annoyance is that I can't help but feel this is purely commercial, and doesn't benefit the Star Wars universe or the fans. (they can keep on inventing "special" units) TT BTW thank KimT for putting it in the lego star wars forum

Nice work, instantly recognisable and purist TT

Hi everyone, I can still remember a time when Clone troopers were white and black soldiers, inextuingishable from others. Yellow, Red, Blue, Green stripes on the armor indicated the commander, captain, lieutenant or sergeant rank. Of course clone troopers were created to be the predecessors of the storm troopers, and had to look very similar. Next came the ARC troopers. Wearing specialised armour as elite troops was exceptable and the colour-rank was still there such as Fordo wearing red instead of standard blue stripes. Then came the clone commandos. These were the first clones that didn't sound like the others, and it was decided that these would have painted armour instead of white, to indicate their personality. Again, these were elite troops, the main army still was white and black. Then it began... Episode III. We saw pictures of the new clone helmet, with the black and white armour. Next we saw orange, green, camouflage, blue, red, ... Colours were no longer used to indicate ranks, but to make complete legions, battalions, etc. In episode III, I think the only time I saw a white clone was on a Venator, wich got hit by a cannon from Grievous' flagship. Clones used these markings to identify themselves as a certain unit, while commanders wore their own. The colour per unit started being used somewhere in the Clone Wars, only appearing with Phase II clones. In the clone wars animated series, both phase I and phase II clones were seen wearing the regular black and white armour. Now, the new the Clone Wars series, we see Phase I clone troopers, all with their different markings, wich even change from clone to clone in the same squad... I've seen the first 3 episodes so far and I have rarely (or even not, sometimes it goes quick) seen any white and black troopers. The hair cuts are another thing that bother me, but I can live with that as they are under the helmets... I am annoyed by the fact that these facts don't add up and the regular trooper doesn't even seem to appear anymore. Then they suddenly changed back to black and white for the Empire? Of course, this is seen from a marketing point of view, to get as much profit out of clone troopers figures and all of the merchandise, also LEGO. Hasbro can keep on rehashing almost made up battlions or troops, and they will still sell. What do we end up with? We can't build a decent army, because the coloured ones only appear in small numbers and are all differently coloured, while the white troops, wich we can build an army with, don't seem to appear anymore... Add to the annoyance or prove me wrong by posting in this thread TT

Nice work indeed. I'm working on my own Königstiger since July, yet the turret is the hardest part (getting 3 crewmembers in there, along with the canon...) Keep on the great work! TT

A very nice temple, but this looks more Gothic styled than Roman to me. (little tower) The MOC is great though! (nice technique for the legs) @ cap'n Blackmoor: the Romans didn't use chariots in war, nor can I recall a civilian use. (2 wheeled that is) They were used in horse races though. (circus Maximus) TT
