  1. Heya, not quite. Sorry, I should have mentioned. The abbreviations stand for Big Ugly Rock Piece and Little Ugly Rock Piece. You can find more typical abbreviations in the Eurobricks Glossary. Have a nice evening, ~ Christopher
  2. Hello again! A great costume party you set in scene here! That's one of the best natural looking rock architectures I have ever seen! Now you mentioned the rounded walls which you don't like. I don't think they look that bad here. Imagine you had used BURPS or LURPS. Now that would have been a waste of your skills. You could still use 4x4 rounded corner bricks or the 4x4 macaroni bricks, and maybe place some nice little windows between two layers of bricks. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  3. Hello! That's an outstanding scenery! The snot technique to do a mosaic-like landscape is a great touch! And the socket itself is a creation of its own with all the gears, bones and skulls. There's one thing that amazes me most. You found a use for old and yellowed blue bricks! Simply fantastic that is! Cheers, ~ Christopher
  4. Hello there! That is a really huge layout you're having there in the basement. Congratulations on a successful move. As I like boats, ships and harbors very much, I am particularly interested in the water imitation you are using. This looks extremely good, and I'd like to know what material you are using there. Greetings, ~ Christopher
  5. Hello! That's a great technique to build classic-looking cars in general. The snot-use of the curved bricks, and the angles realized by the 1x2 grill slopes and chrome underwater spears are excellent! Cheers, ~ Christopher
  6. Hello! I'm looking forward seeing your giant Venator, unfortunately your BrickShelf folder has not yet been moderated and thus is not public yet. Here's how to post a deeplink directly to the images: Login, and choose the image. Click on it until you can't click on it further. You see the image directly in the browser, without the BrickShelf mask. Now copy the web adress (should be ending with .jp, .gif or .png) here. That's a deeplink we can see although your folder is not public yet. Cheers, ~ Christopher EDIT: Your deeplink has one "http//" too much, but it works once removed. That Venator is really huge! Very impressive. Is it really finished? I can see a hole in one of the back wings where some plates are missing. The trench between upper and lower hull could use some more greebling pieces. I know you need much of these when building a large ship but you can adding them afterwards whenever you have greebling pieces left over. Cheers again! ~ Chris
  7. Hello! A really great building with excellent interior. Not many LEGO museums I have seen to date, and this one is outstanding. It's a great addition for any town (I would have posted this in the town forum). I have an idea if you want to expand the museum for more rooms and maybe need more display cases. The top part of the 4x6 trunk (the lid) is available in trans-clear and would make an excellent glass display cabinet. Cheers. ~ Christopher

    MOC: Patient

Hello there! This is very very authentic, and exactly what it looks like in hospitals. The single flower, the coke machine, and the typical floor pattern. And a great technique for the small 1x1 tiles at the bottom of the wall! Cheers, ~ Christopher
  9. Thanks again all! I have read about that castle contest. I would have some micro castles. Undortunately one is reserved for the next Brickjournal and I think it would look odd if I just registered on ClassicCastle to enter the competition. It would lead to the impression that I didn't care about the community there at all and was only keen on the prizes. I will gladly show the micro castles in our castle forum, however. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  10. Well, as a fellow mini builder I understand the conflict. Sometimes mini building requires the unconventional connection. All the best, ~ Christopher

    Burj Dubai

Oh my! That's amazing! And the biggest Mini I have ever seen. Do you know how many pieces it has? You will need a tremendous amount of 1x1 slopes. But these allow you to perfectly get the shape. Cheers, ~ Chris
  12. Hello! The ramming device is truly impressive! I'd not feel comfortable if I had to cross paths with this vehicle. A really nice detail reminding of the classic vehicle days in the 80s is the use of the printed car doors which where part of the also black helicopter truck 6357. I am really happy to see these again after more than 20 years. Cheers, ~ Chris
  13. Hello! That's great! I love Mini models! I like the detail of the landing gear! How stable are the antennas between landing gear and wings? Cheers, ~ Christopher
  14. Hello! Thank you for even more nice praises! I highly appreciate all your comments! I made these temples in light gray, as crucial parts are missing in tan. Furthermore it is not really clear if the temple is gray or tan. All images are in the sunlight, so everything appears more yellow than normal. LEGOscum, um well err yeah, thank you! The guy who built the temple in BrickJournal and me, well, we're the same. The little gray one presented here is an improvement, as I could use lightsabres as towers now. But that grill plate in old light gray is very expensive. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  15. Hello! These are very cute! I can see the old TV cartoon series now clearly. I remember them having very short legs but very voluminous feet. Maybe you can shorten the legs a bit and enlarge the feet. As a side effect you would also approach the miniland scale even more. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  16. Hello! That's a really great ship! There are many unique things I like about it. The sail barge sails look like giant fins in the way you arranged them. The back fin by the ewok hang glider sail is also very inventive! Also its connection with the horizontal mast and classical ship ladders. What I like most, is the use of Bionicle pieces. I don't like Bionicle much, and I am always pleased when someone finds a possibility to do something useful with them like you here. All in all: Excellent! Cheers, ~ Christopher
  17. Hello again, and thank you for the many nice comments! Hopefully I can show you more soon. drdavewatford, I can do a piece list. Just drop me a line, and I will send it to you. Best greetings and thanks again! ~ Christopher
  18. Hello! I like that fighter, especially for the twin-cockpit which reminds me to the days of the second Space Police series. You did a good job using that large boat hull piece, but I hope you didn't just fill it with bricks, did you? Because you found a wonderful possibility to get plenty of interior space, and I'd love to see some shots from the interiror. My second suggestion would be to fill the front cockpit with a second minifigure, maybe a gunner to handle the weapons. It looks so empty currently. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  19. Hello! I always preferred brick-built weapons over prefabricated ones. I think LEGO® should still look like LEGO®, and thus the brick-built weaponry here goes into the right destination. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  20. Hello dear community! With this quote (topic title) from little Anakin in Episode 1, I'd like to show you something different from what I usually post here. It's not a mini starship or speeder, it's a building instead! -------------------- Among the most impressive and famous buildings on Coruscant is the ancient Jedi Temple dating back more than four millennia before the Battle of Yavin. The shape is basically a ziggurat - a terraced step pyramid which could be found in the ancient Mesopotamia on Earth. One piece seems obvious to construct the Jedi Temple with bricks: The 75° 2x2x3 double convex slope (corner slope). They induce the size of the building: The real complicated part of this building is its socket. It stands on a sloped socket. The correct angle would be realized by 1x1 slopes, studs not on top. A gap of a half plate height is the result. By a rather weird bracket construction you are finally able to close that gap (see detail photo): All images of the Jedi Temple can be seen at BrickShelf, including instructions: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=405039 -------------------- Now, you know I like building small, very small. So the question occured if you could even scale the Jedi Temple down more. It is possible! You will say: "Hey you cheated! 2x2x2 double convex corner slopes don't exist!" And you're right. I wish they existed. They would be such an enrichment for all builders. However, the corners of the Jedi Micro Temple are not of this sort. And t his not a normal 8x8 baseplate either - it's a grill plate! And now you'll most likely know how it's been built. All images of the Jedi Micro Temple can also be seen at BrickShelf, with instructions: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=405043 -------------------- ... But those nice new corner slopes we still don't have and probably never will ... That's my story for today! Have a great week, and see you soon! Yours Christopher.
  21. Oh I think they already found what he was looking for if you read just two posts above. Cheers, ~Christopher
  22. Hello and welcome! If you are into Lord of the Rings, you might like the creations of Obi-Juan-Kenobi if you don't know them already. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  23. Hello! Thanks again for the nice comments! I'll try to keep it up during the next week. Have a great start into the next week! ~ Christopher
  24. Well, hello! Maybe if you could have posted a link to what you are talking about, we could help. But just the term "massive destroyer" is not enough to identify the creation. The only massive Star Destroyer for which I know there are instructions is the official 10030 set. There is however, an UCS Acclamator-class Assault Ship by Reto Geiger for which he did the immense effort to make instructions. You can find them here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=167931 Cheers, ~ Christopher
  25. Hey! This would be a great addition to the official series. Actually, I like these new lime green bricks, and you did a great job considering the fact that the parts variety for this colour is still somewhat limited. Cheers, ~ Christopher
