  1. Can anyone tell me why the Clone Commander gear (Anti-Blast Kama, Pauldron etc.) were printed in grey and in black instead of only in grey?
  2. I thought so as well. However, he looks significantly different than 10221 Dengar. Legs and Body remind me a bit of the Kashyyyk Trooper.
  3. Hi :) As for the poster, can anyone tell me who's the guy above Darth Maul?
  4. Does anyone share the view that the sound effect that appears at 2:17 - 2:24 ist from "The Last Hope"? It reminds me of a scene where the Death Star is involved, but I have not checked it yet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76y2SrJ6Ctc
  5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R55e-uHQna0 A commercial, I don't know if it's broadcasted internationally.
  6. Oh, the blue is back...to be honest, I liked "Hello Kitty" a lot.
  7. I think the Droideka would look much better without the 3x2 tile on the top. Besides biasing the proportions, it makes it look a bit like Jar Jar Binks.
  8. I think they will. 7655 is an Expanded Universe set, so they had not to care about heads. That's why I'm sure that TCW phase II helmets will be made for flesh heads. Plus, I hope the helmet will be modified in a way that it can be combined with armors.
  9. Due to a legal issue (Sony), this video cannot be watched in Germany :/
  10. Well, isn't a Taun Taun, of course in a purely functional sense, a vehicle?
  11. Personally, I like Ahsoka. Besides that, the important-person-dies-and-Anakin-takes-revenge-theme was already used in EP 2.
  12. Hmm...Even Piell reminds me a bit of Alastor „Mad-Eye“ Moody.
  13. Currently, there are two Hoth battlepacks. Since Endor is the second major battle in the OT, I think there will be two Endor-Battlepacks sooner or later.
  14. Yes. A something that imediately comes to my mind is, "Hold your fire. There are no life forms. It must have been short-circuited".
  15. I never had the impression they had a hostile relationship. Since I watched EP4 for the very first time I was always having the impression that Tarkin was a superior of Vader, which doesn't really fit to the view I have about Sith Lords today (like Sidious' excuse for disturbing Cad Bane).
  16. It was an entertaining episode. I wonder where this arc may lead to, and when Lego will come up with Clone Wars Arc Troopers.
  17. Well, to me the point of the Star Wars Universe is to provide a background for good stories. Contradictions only are a problem if one assumes that there has to be one "true and unique" Star Wars Universe. I think it's just in the nature of the human mind to get rid of contradictions constituted by a plurality of stories to form one single story. Although contradictions might raise some emotions, I think one should be aware of the fact that if storytelling would be ruled by this doctrine, most of an author's energy that would be better spent for the development of the story were absorbed by avoiding contradictions, thus ultimately defeating the aim of a Star Wars Universe: providing a background for good stories.
  18. The poster asked for our experiences, and that's what I wrote about :) I'm not an expert when it comes down to Bruce Lee (I read his books when I was 12, I think), but I think he saw very clearly that what he did was not so much about single or different techniques, but about what connects an appropriate technique to any given situation. That's why I think that his choice of techniques is not the constituting element of JKD. But he's dead now since nearly 40 years, and whatever he precisely had in mind is hard to prove. The problem that I see by picking techniques from different styles and combining them is that there is no systematic (= teachable and learnable) element connecting situation and movement. The achievements of single individuals are in no way representative for any quality of any style. Of course Michael Tyson once was a successful boxer; but I think the OP isn't helped much with this information.
  19. It totally depends on why you want to train martial arts. If you are interested in self defense, in my personal judgement nothing can compete with the Wing Tsun System (WT). I started my martial arts "career" with Karate (Wadō-Ryū). I liked it, trained a lot and finally had to find out that it simply doesn't prepare very well for self defence situations. A friend of mine trained WT, and I came to the conclusion that it was pretty much what I was looking for. If you have no concrete idea what you're looking for, I'd recommend to check your options. Personally, I'd check out the atmosphere of the training, the competence of the trainer, and of course the price. I cannot recommend to pick "just the best of everything", because all these elements are finally combined in one person. Thus, "picking the best of everything" is a good strategy to prepare a menue; however, I don't think it's a good strategy to mix it all together to prepare a single meal.
  20. Slightly OT, but can anyone tell me what UCS and MOC are precisely standing for?
  21. I think that's because the engines are too small compared to the rest of the ship. However, I think the engines have the size they have because TLC uses/used the molt for 35 other sets; while the body of the ship was designed to allow interactions with minifigs, so it couldn't be made smaller.
  22. I think that compared with how he looks in Clone Wars the whole head seems a bit too long. On the picture (series), the eyes are more to the middle of the head: On the other hands, he looks better than all of the self-made Ki-Adi Mundis I've seen so far. I see it pretty much in the same way. I find it incredibly difficult to find objective criteria to justifie the proposition that the policy of TLG regarding minifigures and models is "just plain obvious", which is one of the reasons why I don't see the point of engaging into such a task. It's much easier to compare a model with its "predessor". Thus, I find that with 7965 (at least) the major flaw 4504 is removed: the cockpit now fits much better to rest of the model than it did before. I do not think, however, that all models have improved in all aspects. 7959, for example, comes up with a cockpit, which is a clear improvement, but I'm not yet sure about the cannon design. Since the "new" TIE-models 8017 (Vader's) and 8087 (Defender)are held in black/grey, I expect that sooner or later the TIE-Figher will be re-issued. I do not believe, however, that it's cockpit will show more "roundness" than 8017 and/or 8087.
  23. Somehow he reminds me of Savage Opress.
  24. The principle is that what is the same strives for difference, while what is different has to be uniformed. As for your overall criticism: if I wanted "accurate" Star Wars models I wouldn't buy Lego. Personally, I think that 7965 is an improvement compared to 4504. The only thing I really don't like is the head design of Eeth Koth. I'm not yet sure about Ki-Adi Mundi, Opress, and Maul, but they are not as bad designed as Eeth Koth. I do not see that this any conclusion at all; this is simply your personal opinion. In Clone Wars, the "seam" is pretty obvious: http://images.wikia.com/starwars/images/7/75/KiAdiMundiGeonosis-LaPR.jpg http://www.jeditemplearchives.com/galleries/2010/Review_KiAdiMundiTCW/Review_KiAdiMundiTCW_stillA.JPG
  25. Ups, I really didn't get the "but". I can't see how this knowledge about the future fits to his final words about Anakin's fate as the Chosen One, but it opens much room for speculation :)
