  1. It's not about the coloured printings, but the black lines that seperate the plain white legs into different parts of the clone armor. My naive opinion is that if it's possible to make such complex printing like e. g. the Geonosian's legs, it cannot be that difficult to make white legs with just a few black lines. As for the new Y-Wing: it simply seems to be too small when compared to the X-Wing. I do not like the plates on the cockpit. They make the 9495 look like 7658 - which is simply not consistent with the lower (broader) part of the cockpit. 9491 is pretty nice. On small pics, Barriss' eyes look weird, but this impression is not generated by bigger pictures.
  2. I expected new black-grey TIEs when 8017 was published. I did not expect, however, major changes of the cockpit and the wings. I find the inconsistency a bit annoying because I'd prefer a set of TIEs designed in a different way before he designed is changed. That might be quite unrealistic to hope for, but that's how I experience the situation. I think pretty much the same. I think the lower parts of the legs is red, as seen on the prelim pics. And the helmet of the ARF seems to have a shorter visor and no fin on the back.
  3. Armor and Kama are cloth. The helmet looks much better than that one of the ARC painted in the catalogue. Although I'm still not convinced by the shoulder part, I have to admit that the ARC is pretty cute.
  4. Interesting. I wonder about the odds that Jabba's Palace will turn out to be a TCW set. If they really make a The Old Republic Starfighter, I think we have a new line besides "Episode I-VI" and "TCW". The Felucian Fighter might be part of this line as well.
  5. But you should remember that these are only prelim pics :)
  6. You can remove the 2x1 tile in the middle and the feet-tiles. Instead, you use the feet-tile of Boskk. It has "two things pointing somehow forward", which may be accurate enough to make the feet of Yoda.
  7. They look great. Bossk may be my favorite.
  8. I think that this season simply cannot match the expectations that were created by the trailers. What I find remarkable about the recent episode is that, to me, the clones have lost their "knightish" image of always being polite, helpful and so on. In this episode, they were more rude, annoyed, and hot tempered than they have been portrayed before.
  9. I'm sorry to hear that. I see that you are from Germany. Where did you buy the set?
  10. In the links, you have to remove "http://http://" in to make them work.
  11. Not necessarily. It simply depends on the glue.
  12. Just to be sure: what leaked pictures are you talking about?
  13. I think the scene as a whole is pretty good. When I seperate the bridge from the whole I'm not sure if I like it (the bridge). However, it fits into the scene pretty well.
  14. Poni Hoax / Antibodies
  15. I'm glad to see that it wasn't just me who found e3 and e4, well, pretty ordinary.
  16. Oh, I don't think it's too hard to find something to complain about. Personally, I would like to see a Scout Trooper with black mouth- and ear-parts (which are currently left white), a black visor that is integrated into the helmet, and, if possible, printed legs. Not to mention that the Endor battle pack would be way cooler with 5 minifigs (Scout, 2x Stormtrooper, 2x Rebel), but the choice of the minifigs is quite a different issue, of course. Another justified complaint is that the Stormtroopers in 9490 got printed legs, while the one in 9489 doesn't. Without complaints of any kinds, this would be a much less lively thread, I think. In my opinion, the eyes of the TCW Barriss Offee need to be closer together (I like the other Barriss minifig much more), but that's not an important issue to me since Barriss is a relatively unimportant figure. Not surprisingly, however, clones can be expected to be important to be much more important in a series called "The Clone Wars", and that's why I think one needs to be especially critical about their design. I really don't know if Lego should go for accuracy. In TCW, the figures are extremely slight and slender; Lego minifigs, however, are not, which is a major restriction to accuracy. By necessity, the Lego minifigs can only represent a choice of aspects of the figures shown in the show. So to me, the question is not whether a minifig "looks accurate", but whether the right/most important aspects are represented by the minifig. Some aspects may be accurate, while they might not go very well together with other aspects represented by the minifig.
  17. I can't. The possibility that this might be the final design of these figures keeps my mind busy. I'll try not to write about this issue any more, though :)
  18. I used that technique with CD and LP covers. The question is whether the glue only became harder over time or whether it started to fuse/melt into the surface of the box.
  19. Yes, I mean the prelim pics of the catalogue, the picture with the minifigs only that was located on the lower left side.
  20. Does anyknow know if the pauldrons of the Sandtroopers are installed correctly? There seems to be a hole in the pauldrons, roughly at the hight of the ellbow.
  21. You can use a hair dryer to warm the glue. This way, you should be able to remove the sticker as a whole. If parts of the glue remain, keep them warm. Using adhesive tape to get rid of the remains has proven pretty useful.
  22. I don't find they look like "The Prince and the Wizard" from this BBC series thingy. I don't know the series anyway. I'm not sure about the perceptual qualities these two guys represent. But it doesn't matter anyway, I like them a lot. edit: Great creation as well. The right one is Will, of course. Not sure about the Dwarf, but it's somehow interesting to switch between the two flickr-pictures. That may depend on the level of beer consumed, of course.
  23. The point is that Palpatine is in a win-win situation. Whether the Separatists win or the Republic, for him it simply doesn't matter. Since we already know that the Republic will prevail, the only thing they can do in TCW is to show that it was pretty tight. And although the Republic forces may prevail, the ongoing fights drag the Jedi deeper into the war, possibly distracting their attention from their biggest threat - Palpatine.
  24. The cockpit is a great improvement, both its new size and shape. Adding a seat and a R2-unit changes the perceived size, which I think is an improvement as well. Adding more colour is an improvement as well, and so are the changes of the parts connecting the engines with the middle part. All in all, this version is a great improvement compared to the first one. I like it more than 10134, and I would like so see it made out of real Lego. The new cockpit looks very "Y-wingish". My current impression is that the engines are still a bit too long when compared to the cockpit, but that impression may be generated by the perspective.
