  1. That's a good detail I've not seen on a model before, I recall watching that episode of Hornblower recently. These look the part, seem a fiddley thing to create.
  2. The sails are beautiful, looks like she's almost complete. The dimly lit shot of the cabin is very atmospheric. Looking forward to seeing how wonderful she is once the rest of the sails are on.
  3. This just gets better and better, I like the dash of colour in the new stern gallery, and the way you've angled the railings. The dragon detail is intriguing, hopefully it finds a place in the finished model.
  4. Great looking pair, I see that there are firing effects and damage, are you planning on making a diorama for them?
  5. That is very impressive, not a simple motion to achieve, and at the right scale too. I like how it cycles between each side, rather than just firing in tandem. The motor does sound rather unhappy though.
  6. Progressing very well, with the partition, I'd probably go with whichever would have the bigger visual impact. I presume the cabin will be more easily accessible and visible, so option 2 would be the one to go for.
  7. Excellent work, instantly recognisable. Looking forward to seeing more pictures of her.
  8. Nice result on the sails, the carronades are nifty to.
  9. Thank you, a standard figure looked a bit pathetic on such a wide bow, and that old figure allowed for a nice two-handed pose.
  10. Great looking matching set, how long to you aim to soak each sail?
  11. Great to see the original and the successor together, the new build has much better shaping. I hate to say it though, but the greyer colourscheme of the older model feels slightly more accurate to the film.
  12. Thank you both, it is very satisfying getting to the point where the sails and rigging are finished at last. To make her easier to transport, she breaks into four sections, and the tumblehome is detachable too. This allows reasonable access to the interior, although it is mostly bare decks still for now, as I was focusing on getting the outside ready for the show.
  13. That's a clever way of displaying an in-progress ship, the array of guns looks good. Lighting is a brilliant addition, and I agreed that leaving some studs exposed is more appropriate than going fully tiled. It is amazing, no matter how large of model I build, fitting all the structure and mechanisms within is always struggle. I suppose as the model grows, so does the ambition of what to fit in.
  14. That figure looks to be the good basis for a Hussar uniform.
  15. As the ship has now outgrown anywhere I can photograph it inside, I've not been able to post any updates. But, despite not quite being finished, I took her to her first show yesterday, and was able to take a quick snap of where work currently stands. With the improved weather, hopefully I will have a chance to take some full pictures soon. See more shots of her 'in action' here: Battle of Genoa 1795 - Pirate MOCs - Eurobricks Forums
