Just got mine in. In the US. P. 48 for me as well
-
i like it. sleek and simple it is a planetary fighter, correct?
-
obviously your pirates must deal exclusively in hands. do they take them as trophies when they loot a place? Their worls must be populated with a lot of handless people
-
I like it better than TLG AC models. are you using Buzz Lightyears vizor as the cockpit bubble?
-
Looking awesome. One of these days i'll get around to building a ship, although i doubt it will be as nice as yours. Have you though of perhaps naming it the HMS Seraphim, or Seraph? or one of the other tiers of angels?

very nice. I especially like the use of flex tubing for arms. exquisite MOC

Ah, the classic dilemma of the AFOL keep collecting and you'll get there

Two of my favorite themes, and both well done. add ice planet 2002 in there and I am set.

Sci-fi builders, do you prefer angles or curves

True. I think this whole question stemmed from my dislike of the round bubble canopies. Silly, I know. -

sure, but up close, they are still all angles. just curves made with angles am i making sense? -

my point is, anything mechanical is, by definition, non-organic. spaceships are reliant on mechanics, whether theoretical or actual therefore, in a angled world, angles should be emphasized. organics are more prone to curvature -
Roboforce alays struck me as having a reptilian/insect feel

i actually like the design of this set. if they would leave out the yellow and stick to a single grey it would look even better. Nothing can help that ugly Dark Azure suit though just my opinion. But i guess i'm a LEGO color segregationist. Too much mixing sets me off.

will do so. Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa

It was a good line, just small. no base, no starships. it could have been great with a little expansion. why don't you build your own expansion of it?

With mini models, curves definitely have a place. But I focus mostly on minifig scale stuff and just like angles better. To each his own I guess. -
sorry, i'm still relatively a n00b here and getting used to the site. will be a better searcher next time. thanks.

I ALWAYS end up buying the old style angled cockpits when i get on Bricklink. Trans-neon orange and trans-dark blue get scooped up wherever i see them. love the octagonal bubbles. so many uses! -
I have a separate bucket where the "reject LEGO" go. I let my buddies kid play with the MBs. he has to earn the right to build with the epitome of building blocks. Real LEGO. So what do you do with them?

I think it's the cold, harsh, mechanical feel of space, as opposed to the round, curvy, organic feel of things related to nature. And space is inherently an unnatural environment, so roundness as a whole, feels out of place. Of course, you can achieve pseudo roundness with angles, which feels much more spacelike to me. -
And why? Me, I'm an angles guy. Not a real fan of the newer bubble cockpit screens. Don't get me wrong, curves have their uses, but I prefer angles. To me, they're sleeker and more mechanical. Rounded edges don't sit right with me for some reasons, on ships at least. I save roundness mostly for Minifigs Unless I'm going for an organic look on a ship that is. What's your preference?

My suggestion. Get an idea in your head of what you want to build, along with some spending money, and then get on bricklink and try to find a store with the parts you want. You'll save more money in the long run by just getting the parts you need. The ones I haven't bought yet of course Lol
