And that is exactly why I asked the "how old are you" question to the person in a previous post. Perhaps I should've included a smiley with it. It looks like we're all more or less agreeing on how the demographics relate to the preferences. Back on the topic of rumors, I sure hope the rumor of a UCS Slave 1 (OT, boba version) is true.

Bwwaaa haaa haaaa!! Are you serious? How old are you? OT trumps PT+EU almost every time, in the general broad sense. And specifically, the Death Star is far far far more popular, iconic and widely known than the jedi temple. How could you even consider it might be the other way around?

What useful parts (for GG) are you guys managing to find on your PAB walls? PS - no package for me yet... I phoned customer service the other day and they said they actually had 2-3 PALLETS worth of orders that were issued around the Feb 18th date that were apparently held up in customs. Mine is likely among those. I was told to call back monday if I haven't received it by end of this week.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Inzane replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Retiring Town Hall next would mean skipping two prior sets (GE & PS) in the release order. That would be odd, but not unheard of overall when you consider other lines and unexpectedly short run sets. . -
When? Just this week? New in box?
-
^ In the long run, $300 will feel like a bargain.

Fitting the entire car inside (with or without driver) is a notable "play" feature for the kiddies, but not realistic in terms of real life F1. In reality the cars are dismantled to the point of being boxes before being loaded for transport. That means no wheels, no wings, no nose, etc. I was disappointed with the set as a whole. I didn't like the proportions of the finished product. The trailer (6 wide then 8 wide, which ends up notably wider than taller) looks ackward and the cab seems too small. I also don't get the point of the wall on the side of the truck that swings open. If there was enough room inside to move figures around maybe that'd be a play feature, but there isn't.
-
^ You're right of course regarding the official modular sets. I want light bley for my purposes though because that's closer to the real color of concrete poured sidewalks and driveways here in Canada.

"Allow" which part? The ghost minifig? (religious implication?)
-
Fixed.

Ah, ok gotcha now. I guess that means you've never encountered the "need to disassemble sets to make room to display others..." situation. My lego collection far exceeds the available space to display it all. I've never even attempted to date to display all my SW UCS sets simultaneously, let alone everything else.

Maybe you didn't get what I meant. You said: You only get that luxury for the first time you build a set when it's coming out of its original packaging. If you can't handle building a set with all the pieces out in a big pile, what do you do the next time you build it? Are you OCD about segregating the pieces back into their original bags before storing it? If you're like most of us, your parts for a set probably end up in a ziploc freezer bag or some kind of plastic container with a lid. Hence, a big pile next time. No?

^ I feel your pain bro. I too am waiting on a key PAB order, and have built as much of GG as I possibly can. The order was placed on Feb 16th and shipped Feb 18th. And like you, no further movement on the tracking info since it was "tendered". So i opened and built my Pet Shop set over the weekend to get a fix. It helped of course. Please please please, be in my mailbox tonight!!

Minus the potbelly...? ;-P

Its not the audience that needs a reason. Its the citizens of Detroit, and by extension the USA. And that is at the very core theme of the movie.
-
So how do you handle re-building a set in your collection for the 2nd time?
-
^ Good call. I didn't think of that. By the looks of it, that set itself is too new to even have an inventory entered into BL yet, and that's partly why the minifig isn't linked to anything.
-
Just curious, does anyone know the story on this Batman minifig with blue cape & cowl? I found it on Bricklink (# SH111) but it doesn't make reference to any sets or gear or anything. Thanks.
-
You're asking for so many re-dos from the UCS line when there is so much material that hasn't even had a first (UCS) run yet....?
-
I can't say for certain because I'm always exploring possibilities. But if I had lots of them, I could see them being useful for things like sidewalks, driveways, garage floors etc.
-
Damn... I have yet to find those in a PaB wall whenever I've been to a store. I'd go absolutely crazy for those and back up a truck. :) Perhaps I'll have to visit my local store sooner than later.

After doing all the leg work for bricklinking CC, GG and MS recently (still waiting for a couple orders to come in the mail, and haven't finalized my total costs yet), I would not recommend trying to do it for Fire Brigade. At least not now at current market prices. The whole point of trying to BL a set is to try and come in cheaper than buying the set as a whole. Given you can still buy FB on the secondary market for < $300, I don't see how you could come out much less than that (if at all) by buying piecemeal. It might even cost you more. Don't forget the value of your time (its a very time-intensive activity sourcing parts for a 2000+ set), and the cost of shipping multiple orders. Once FB reaches double it's current market value, then it might start becoming worthwhile to BL it. That's IMHO, of course.

That is a very cool model/playset. This is my first time seeing that. My sincere respect to the creator of that set design.
-
Any word on whether that is to be this year's May the 4th special promo?
-
Not bad. I paid $229 (USD) on bricklink for a NIB Fire Brigade back in January.
