I don't see how that would fix the issue of masks "clashing", since chrome clashes with pretty much EVERYTHING (it's one of the main reasons I prefer "pearl" colors, with the other being chrome's propensity for scratches and other wear). Personally, I don't have a problem with the gold masks. I don't see why they have to match the rest of the Toa's color schemes now any more than they did in 2001.

The red mask comes with the figure (blended with silver rather than Trans. Orange). The armor is not currently feasible—4M shells don't exist in red. You could change out the feet and hands, if you wanted.

I don't remember many other specifics. The turntable parts were hardly any more visible in the pics than they were in the magazine pics. Torso was white printed with dark blue and looked good. Upper arms still look slightly dubious as far as articulation is concerned. The leaked catalog pic, as expected, was mirrored. Melum is still pretty much identical to Terak (which almost makes me wonder if there'll be a figure which combines with multiple creatures—the need for symmetry would be one of the best excuses I can think of).

They're blended with gold. I don't recall whether Kopaka had any other gold, but his gold mask and the gold on Melum will help to balance him out.

Okay, so after seeing Christian's presentation again, the hilts on Kopaka's sword elements are silver. Kopaka's basic mask is blended with silver, and his gold mask was blended with Trans. Light Blue.

They just haven't been filmed yet. We've been told that will happen this month.

Yup. Dark Blue, Metru Blue, Earth Blue, whatever you want to call it. Apart from the Skull Spiders, this will indeed be its CCBS debut. Also, while we haven't had any finalized pics, the leaks sure made it look like Pohatu would be using both Reddish Brown and Dark Brown. Both exist in CCBS (thanks, Chima!), but a wider variety of parts will certainly be nice.

I don't know how great that name would be, considering "phantom" has more nefarious connotations than "Master" or "Uniter". Though if you wanted something else along those lines, "Mystic of Fire/Water/etc." would be a good name, evoking the Mistika rather than the Phantoka.

You mean the leg armor? Did I like it more? Sure, it was a better angle for the final product shot. And it looks great on Melum's torso. But I'm still skeptical of its use as leg armor, especially without supplementing it with other parts. I might get another look at it tomorrow, and I'll try to pay more attention to detail.

Lower arms are dark blue. I don't remember what color the swords are blended with, but the actual brick-built hilt is gunmetal, I think. The horns seem to attach to the same piece used for the cross-guard on Kylo Ren's light saber, as far as I could tell.

We were allowed to take pictures of a lot of concept art and models for this year's sets, if that's what you're interested in! BZP has uploaded most of them to its Instagram and Facebook. As for the 2016 content, the designer (Christian Vonsild) was not even planning to show it until he learned that Tahu and Umarak had already been shown in the Lego Magazine. We only really got to see Kopaka, Melum, and the development process for Kopaka's mask.

They showed pictures. Recording isn't allowed during designer panels, and we weren't even allowed to take pictures of the 2016 content.

So the new Toa masks (or at least Kopaka's) have the Nuva symbols molded into them. That's pretty cool. Source: Bionicle design panel at BrickFair New Jersey

There was never any chance of there being an exclusive mask. This is an activity book. Activity books never include exclusive contents (at least, not exclusive PARTS—this year's Elves activity book includes a nifty brick-built bracelet instead of a figure). I don't know why anyone ever got their hopes up. As for the Mask of Creation... Lego would be stupid to include one of the most prominent and desirable masks in the year in a cheap activity book. The whole point of including things like that in the most expensive sets is to help draw in customers, and making them available outside of the sets themselves would only undermine that. Including the "less desirable" Ekimu mask is actually a really smart move in that respect, since it'll increase demand for the book (since the mask is only available in the most expensive set) without decreasing demand for Mask Maker vs. Skull Grinder (because the prominent and desirable Mask of Creation is still exclusive to that same set).

Star Wars Constraction 2016 Discussion
Lyichir replied to Logan McOwen's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Which is a good thing, considering that there are no differences (especially not gender-based differences in the movie, either. Also, it seems like every time we get pics of these sorts of sets, I'm immediately impressed by the human head sculpts, only to find that the public opinion is the opposite. I've got to wonder what kinds of faces people EXPECT these sets to have, or indeed whether they've ever bought non-Lego action figures (and I'm not talking über-realistic ones from companies like Hot Toys). A certain amount of lifelessness comes with the territory, but I think most of the heads we've gotten for these work in spite of that. -
I can understand most of the changes you propose (even if I don't think they're necessary myself), but this one confuses me. Are there many banks with elevated vaults in real life? From my experience, most bank vaults are built on the ground level in part due to how heavily they're reinforced—many of them have walls cast in concrete, which is far too heavy to raise up (especially if there's nothing underneath to support it!). Then again, it's not like I'm an expert on banks...

I for one am all for the newer Technic panels. Older Technic sets tended to look like cross-sections, with unsightly gaps all over the place. Even most of the older style of panels had holes in them (in addition to textures that looked too futuristic and weird for most models). The new panels, on the other hand, produce smooth, clean surfaces that help to hide the functional elements of sets in a solid, durable shell.

Star Wars Constraction 2016 Discussion

How so? Legs are far from the hardest part of a figure to make, and based on what I can tell from a quick Google search, she seems to have a cloth "skirt" that could help to obscure imperfections. The hardest part would be the fact that her bare shins are partly exposed, and that could be fixed by either lengthening either her boots or her leggings. And all of that's assuming there won't be any new parts (like this year's shin pieces) that could potentially provide a better resemblance. -
I doubt the AFOL community makes up much more of a percentage of Lego's overall sales than it ever did. After all, interest in Lego seems to be at an all-time high, but that's not exclusive to adult fans—I'm sure that for every increase in AFOL purchases, KFOL purchases have kept pace or perhaps even surged ahead.

As cool as that would be, I seriously doubt it... I loved Exo-Force, but I don't know if its legacy is enough to merit an anniversary set. That said, the King's Mech from Nexo Knights gives me some great Exo-Force vibes, especially with its fantastic helicopter-blade sword.

Do you mean torso piece? Dareth's legs in this set are Dark Brown, not Reddish Brown, and on top of that they're unprinted and have appeared in many, many sets, including smaller ones. Or were you referring to the printed legs from the Dareth polybag? -
Looks to me more like it might be Sand Green for Cole's head? I mean, I hardly care what color green it is; I'm just glad we're getting a ghost version of Cole at all (since I was worried the story might come up with some excuse to keep using the standard face).
-
Possibly... but let's not forget that when kids buy Nexo Knights, they'll generally want KNIGHTS—with all the armor, weapons and accessories that entails. The same principle applies to Ninjago—after so many years of the theme, we've STILL never gotten any of the ninja dressed in anything other than their ninja garb, and while it'd certainly be a shame, it would not surprise me if the same applies to Nexo Knights. That's not to say that it's impossible for Macy to appear in another set in her princess attire. But just because a design appears in the TV show doesn't guarantee that it'll appear in a set, and Ninjago's precedent is reason enough to maintain a healthy level of skepticism.

I don't think we know for sure that Ghoultar is a skeleton—he could just as easily be "wearing" bones. Though there are possibilities for how he'd be a skeleton and a ghost. What happens if a character who's already a skeleton in the Underworld gets sent to the Cursed Realm?- 4,591 replies

Presumably, hidden inside the "box" or, alternatively, inside the landscaping underneath. Heck, maybe a little of both.
