The biggest area I've had to roof is the 56x58 interior of my engine shed. Larger Larger Larger Larger I used posts and a framework of beams to support 56 stud long panels made of regular 45 degree roof tiles. It could be done without the gaps but I need them so the IR signal has a way in from above (an IR repeater would be nice). Needs a little bit of tidying up but a recent Bricklink order will help me sort that out. :classic:

Great work, Skrytsson. You've captured the feel of the real station very well. Top job. :classic:

Another great model, Steinkopf. That little loco is adorable. :classic:

Great plans, cimddwc. You've got some work ahead of you. I look forward to seeing your funicular. Thanks for the mention. :classic:

You've got some great modular buildings there, RYB. The use of the various blue tones throughout gives a cohesive feel despite the distinct style of each building. Nicely done. :classic:

MOC: Balin & Sons Mining Co. Ore Train
AussieJimbo replied to Laura Beinbrech's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Yeah, the couplings need to be double articulated or the cars will derail on the change of direction in S-curves. I've used 2L or 3L thin liftarms previously. On my current small scale train I'm just using small rubber bands looped over those tow ball pieces. :classic: -
Nice update, LT. I'm going to enjoy watching this one grow. :classic:

MOC: Balin & Sons Mining Co. Ore Train

Nice work, HT, and thanks for the plug. I like the design of the little dumper cars and the coupling mechanism. The loco looks good too, particularly that front view. :classic: -
need the name of a lego piece in ninjago set
AussieJimbo replied to lockdownTF's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Is this the piece you mean? http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=92692 Bricklink is your friend. - www.bricklink.com - Select search for catalog items, enter the set number and go. - Click (Inv) to see all parts in the set. - Scroll down until you find the part you are interested in I find it very useful for doing a "should I have one of these parts" check before diving into boxes of Lego looking for one. :classic: -
Looks like it runs nicely, Gioppa. :classic: IIRC, I picked up the multiples of the red passenger train on a 3 for 2 deal. :classic:

New Narrow Gauge Train in 4204 City Miners Set
AussieJimbo replied to JopieK's topic in LEGO Train Tech
With the better photos it's clear they are the standard straight single rail piece with ridges as seen recently in the red cargo train set. From what you can see on the box, it appears that there will be 4 pieces of rail in the set. The extra 4 running at right angles appear to be an addition for the display. (fairly casually added IMO) I'm waiting on bricklink order with 8 of them for my small scale layout. It's welcome to see more of them released but I still hope we eventually see a compatible straight narrow gauge rails piece. :classic: -
Nice effort, tl8 but I can see why you're not 100% happy with it. I reckon it's a pretty nice looking rocket but a key design feature of the Soyuz is the tapering, conical engine fairings as shown in your reference picture. The top section looks good. If you can work out a way to build the fairings, the design will fall into place. It'll be tricky to find a solution though. :classic:

Great bit of miniaturization. I like the high speed trains but my favourite is the steam train and viaduct. Top work. :classic:

Aussie sales! Share the news of LOCAL sales!
AussieJimbo replied to Darth_Legois's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
At Myer Tuggeranong ONLY, closing down sale, buy 2 toys get 30% off the total price. Picked up some baseplates, Mill Village, another Hogwarts game for parts and the new forest police pickup chase. Moderate variety of sets still in stock, half box of s6 figs at the counter. You need to buy an even number of items as the 30% off appears to apply to each pair of toys (rather than 30% off for 2 or more). :classic: -
Spot on with the stickers and the detailing, LT. Top job. :classic:

Cool creation, Steinkopf. I like how you've modelled the old-style ice hopper operation. :classic:

Nice start, LT. Tram tracks, lamp and shopfront look nice already. I like where this is going. :classic:

Another fantastic creation, Steinkopf. Looks very realistic. Top job. :classic:

clock striking train
AussieJimbo replied to KEvron's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Fantastic mechanism. Great work. :classic: -
It's big but I like it. Always fun cramming in all that PF equipment. Nice use of the dome as a power switch. (Looking at it again, if you build the dome assembly on a 2x4 plate instead of a 2x3, and attach a 1x2 plate underneath at the PF connector end, you might fix the slight slant I can see in the pics and still find there is sufficient give to activate the power button) I'm sure it will be appreciated by the younger ones at the train shows. Now you'll have to build Annie and Clarabel at the same scale so he has some work to do. :classic:

Really top notch stuff, gambort & Mike. Great follow-up to the beautiful Ararat layout from last year. Getting off the rectangular grid really helps with the overall realistic feel as it did with the earlier layout, along with the again outstanding details. Very well done. :classic:

Far out. That multi-level spiral viaduct is something else. A fun and practical solution for behind the scenes level changes. I look forward to pics of the scenic areas. :classic:

Layout WIP: I've finally started a real layout!

Nice update, kyphur. Really improves the look of the yard and now you've got a nice stud base to add the little details later on. :classic: -
