And it says "cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer" which means you won't get this and the 20% if the cashier has their brain switched on. :classic: -
REVIEW - Cars 2 - 8201-1: Classic Mater
AussieJimbo replied to lightningtiger's topic in LEGO Licensed
I like it, much less <insert that tiresome argument> than Lightning McQueen. Nice printed parts and the new mudguard/headlights combined piece has great potential for other vehicles. :classic: -
Great rural station, Cagri. I like those little tan parcels and the tree is also very nice. Top job. :classic:

Great review Rufus. I like all of these houses but have one big gripe. That opening panel on the roof of the main build just looks terrible. What's wrong with an opening tiled roof section with 45 degree angle window parts like on the on of the alternate builds of the Apple Tree house. I'm really surprised this aspect of the design made it into production. :classic:

Top job, lots of great details. The sign, the general architecture, use of yellow grill piece as french fries, too many more to mention. Well done. :classic:

Nice job, Tazmaniac. Look froward to pics of the whole gang. Are you going to build the Glenrowan Hotel? :classic:

The "Maersk" style containers are half-length or 20 foot containters. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intermodal_container I've upgraded all of mine too. :classic:

I just ordered some 7996 RC Train crossovers for $30 from Bricks to the World. www.bttw.com.au Good price for a very useful track piece that's no longer in production. :classic: -
Nice one, LT. I like the angled windows. :classic:

Very nice, gambort. I've been playing with ideas for a roof over the workshop for my tyre place so I'll be interested in checking out your design. Might have to give the whole thing a go if I can get the parts together. :classic:

Myer Sydney City store has a fair amount of train track in stock. Switch Tracks: $24.95 (RRP) Felxi and Straight Tracks: ticketed at $24.95 ($5 off RRP), scanned at the register at $29.95 (RRP) but corrected and sold at the marked price. It's great to see some track stocked because it's been a real rarity over the last few years. I wonder if it will start showing up elsewhere. :classic: -

Bargain of the day, picked up a Western Train chase for $69 at Target (thats $90 off RRP). Gives me enough parts to finish up a new extended cars MOD (with a twist) that I'm working on (and enough little red train wheels for a German Pacific loco with tender I'll be building later on). Also used the Myer 3 for 2 to get a few things and grabbed a couple of the mini helicopter plastic box creator sets. Needed them particularly for a couple of yellow 1x1 tiles, the final 2 missing pieces for my Yellow Maersk loco. Yay. Saw (but didn't buy) a battered Maersk container ship as a shop called Tiny Tots (?) for $230 (expensive by Bricklink price guide but rare to see). They had some sort of Lego building thing going for the kids with all sorts of Lego scattered about. They had a nice Lego display with a good variety of sets, including a few Architecture sets (at those crazy Aussie prices you see them at) and they had one of those polybag police boat sets I haven't seen stocked anywhere else. Good to see another independent with Lego on sale even though their prices were a touch above retail. :classic: -
Magnificent work, wooootles. This looks brilliant. :classic:

That's awesome, lostdriveway. Great pick up. :classic: -
Yeah, double heading with two locos is fine too. Then you have a second loco for shunting and a second train anyway. Leaving the rear of the passenger train as a dummy gives you spare PF bits to play with too. Keep your eye out for some train stations next time they have one of those great 2 for 1 sales. "half-breed" -laugh- I got the last two RC passenger trains in town to avoid that stunted beast on my train as well. :classic:

Welcome aboard, khypur. That's an excellent way to get started. I did a similar thing when I got into Lego trains with the earlier RC system. You get plenty of track, trains and wagons to be able to create some nice layouts and play opportunities from the beginning. Those extra straights from the level crossing sets come in handy. One thing I suggest you try is putting two motors on the front cargo engine and dropping the "pusher" at the back. I use a helper at the back sometimes too for really long cargo trains but I've found recently that the dual-motor at the front just makes for a much stronger engine than two separate locos. For my passenger trains, I still use a motorised loco front and back as this is a common in real life configuration. Enjoy your trains. :classic:

That's great, LT. Plenty of interesting detail in such a small package. Very nice. :classic:

Hmm, OK, thanks for the info. This was a few weeks back and I didn't get a code. Lego items were listed as qualifying at the time but if that's no more then no loss. I wonder if I missed the code because of my marketing email preferences, they were emailing me irrelevant stuff every other day and I got tired of it. Oh well. I just tallied up the ABS percentage on my credit card statement so its probably a good thing I didn't buy any more anyway. -doh- :classic:
