  1. I completely agree with this. Even though I'm only recently back into the hobby, I've discovered that in the last few years LEGO has focussed on the services like Fire, Emergency, Police, and Airport. Some normal houses, restaurants and petrol stations (Hurrah LEGO!) would not go amiss, and it's the reason that I love Cafe Corner and the new Octan Petrol Station so much.
  2. Hey guys, I'm trying to get to grips with Bricklink, I want to purchase some parts for a new MOC, and this will be my first time using it. My question is, is there a trick to it? For example, everything seems to come from different sellers and they all charge postage. So if I need four windows at $0.13 each, that's $0.52, but then the seller adds like another $5 postage ontop and it's just not worth it. Then ten red bricks at $0.06 from a different seller, but that then seller charges his own $4 postage. I'm spending almost 10x more on postage than on bricks! Since I'm in the UK, can anyone recommend any good sellers that sell a wide range of things? Or am I just using Bricklink wrong. Cheers, Nathan
  3. Me too, especially since November 5th is my birthday. :-D
  4. Massive Attack - Mezzanine
  5. Very nice, I like it a lot. The orange inflatable rubber lifesaving thingy that's attached to the end of the pier...is this an actual LEGO piece specifically designed for this? Or is it just a normal circle piece...
  6. Just curious, but the brick that's added in step 10, won't that stop the doors from sliding in and out? Doesn't that defeat the point, ie. a retracting cover?
  7. Very nice. Reminds me of the new Creator houses.
  8. I really cant wait until this set arrives in my mail. The only thing holding the order back is the Street Sweeper and it's making me really antsy! Come on Shop@Home! All those bricks...drool. So beautiful.
  9. Has anyone seen Hot Fuzz yet? I've been to see it twice in the cinema, am possibly going to see it a third time, and I've watched the trailer on Apple.com countless times. Awesome movie, every time I watch it I laugh even harder!
  10. I've voted Wii as it's the only one out of the three that I own. The system is brilliant (The Wii remote is genius), the games, while few and far between at the moment, are awesome, and Virtual Console almost brings a tear to my eye (Super Mario Bros!) I do plan on getting a 360 at some point, as soon as the new model with HDMI and the 120GB HDD comes out. Not interested in the PlayStation3 at the moment - although PlayStation Home and Little Big Planet look fantastic.
  11. Just watched Casino Royale, mainly because I'd just bought it on DVD. Before that, I saw Naked Gun, which I haven't seen in years. Brilliant movie. Also I think I'm going to see Hot Fuzz for the third time, I love this movie. It gets funnier everytime I watch it!
  12. Hmmm, kind of disappointed I didn't see it now, although I never ever watch anything like that. Was it cgi LEGO or actual LEGO which they had built and filmed?
  13. Aha, I had seen those in BrickJournal but I thought they were simply prototypes for 10182 which didn't make the cut. To be honest the only one I remotely like out of the three is the bank on the far right. Cheers oo7. *sweet*
  14. Excellent, cheers guys! I really hope it's minifig scale, yet also less than
  15. I just tried it. It has some really nice improvements from 1.6, and a cleaner interface which makes it seem much nicer to use. Also saving/opening now uses standard Win32 dialog boxes instead of the the old silly ones which wouldn't let you change the location. It has a slightly larger selection of bricks, but I've noticed they've gotten rid of a few too.
  16. Hi there! Nice to have you here! :-)
  17. Having just bought 7945 Fire Station, the windows in this set have the same circles in the windows. They don't annoy me so much though, although I do kinda remember them having this a while back. I could be mistaken.
  18. Wow, you know, seeing the images of the new Castle theme makes me say "ol'school". They might have to be added to my list. Especially 7094 King's Castle Siege.
  19. Oops yeah, that's what copy/paste does. :-) Still, an 8-wide truck...awesome.
  20. I visit LEGO.com quite regularly, just glancing at it when I'm bored, especially over the last few months. But I visited it almost a week ago and saw Cafe Corner and it really made me get into LEGO again. Then I searched for communities and forums, and this seemed like the best. :-)
  21. Thanks guys, this place is really welcoming! I really do wanna drive home now and fetch all my LEGO and start building right away. Browsing the forums is giving me loads of ideas! Mr Tiber: You would think so, but I've been told I have a habit of making random thread titles... :-$ this is just a prime example of that I guess. :-D
  22. Welcome! As someone else that's new here, this community is nothing but welcoming! :-) You should enjoy this place. Nathan
  23. Well, after my current order arrives I definently want to get 4512 Cargo Train. After that, there are a few new 2007 city sets which are catching my attention: Octan Petrol Station (This one looks sweeeet) Garbage Truck (Again, sweet looking) 7998 Large Garbage Truck (8 wide? Niiice...) 7897 RC Passenger Train And lots and lots of the new road sections. I also really want the translucent mosaic set just to play around with.
  24. Can anyone give me a roundup about the rumours on the Eiffel Tower? Is it gonna be minifig scale? (That would be amazing). Piece count? Price...? Cheers
