2016 Lego Games prediction

Fantastic Beasts is a spinoff of Harry Potter though, not Harry Potter itself. -

I can only assume you're joking. Doctor Who has as big a future in Dimensions packs as DC Comics and if LEGO would have to be a bunch of pudding brains not to see that. -

I'm not saying every character, I'm saying there's lots of potential for iconic characters to be released yet. I for one would be hugely disappointed if LEGO don't fulfil the licence's potential. Totally disagree. There's plenty yet - how about a Sontaran Scout Ship, for example, or the Skarasen? They haven't even released Bessie yet. Seriously? If I asked any average member of the public if they know who the Silurians are, for example, they'd be able to tell me straight away. Simply not true. Sontarans, Silurians, Zygons, Ice Warriors, Weeping Angels, Silence, Sarah Jane Smith, Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart and Captain Jack Harkness are all recognisable to non-fan people and if you don't recognise them, you must be living under a rock. -

There's a lot more than just the Doctor, TARDIS and Daleks. There's the Cybermen (already released), Missy/the Master, Sonatarans, Silurians, Zygons, Autons, Captain Jack Harkness, Sarah Jane Smith, Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart, Ice Warriors, Weeping Angels, Silence etc... The list could go on. They would be because it's misleading to announce so many licenses then introduce new ones after a short while and ignore the old. -

Why? The Sontarans and Silurians are much more recognisable than Hans Moleman. And I disagree that the other characters I mentioned aren't significant enough. Captain Jack has a massive fanbase, the Brigadier is constantly referenced in the main show and is a big part of its mythology, Sarah Jane Smith has had two spinoffs, two returns in the main series and companion to two of the show's most popular Doctors (Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker) before Elisabeth Sladen's untimely death, the Zygons have more than earned their right to be NFC LEGO minifigures considering they have become an iconic monster from the series through their three appearances in the show to date and the Paternoster Gang are hugely popular recurring characters. If none of those characters sold well, I'd be very surprised. -

Not true. The show has been a massive worldwide success ever since Day of the Doctor. Yes there is. There's plenty. They haven't even released Missy yet for a start! Seriously: saying there's no more Doctor Who releases they can do without it being obscure is like saying there's no more DC characters they can do. And they'll obviously do more DC characters for the game. Doesn't matter. The fact is there's only one Wizard of Oz set and if they weren't intending on doing more beyond one fun pack, why even bother in the first place? There's lots more they could do yet. Marge Lisa Maggie Sideshow Bob Principal Skinner Kang Kodos Itchy Scratchy Moe Professor Frink Abraham Simpson Mr Burns Smithers Just to name a few. Simpsons has the most potential in the game after Doctor Who, which has the most. In fact, if I were to do a list without any bias I would say: 1. Doctor Who 2. The Simpsons 3. DC Comics 4. Jurassic World 5. Ghostbusters Not in LEGO's eyes. They've already been released as minifigures. Jurassic Park is the same as Jurassic World. Besides, we haven't even had Claire Dearing from Jurassic World yet. Don't get me wrong, I want to see new franchises but not at the expense of the others. What's the point in having an initial 14 franchises included if they're just going to be ignored as soon as they can create figures for the next franchise? It's just treating their already existing gamers like **** if they do that. -

LEGO would have to be insane to only focus on adding new franchises and ****ing off us fans of franchises already in the game. Completely disagree. Everybody has heard of Zygons, Autons, Missy, Strax, Madam Vastra, Silurians, Sontarans, Jenny Flint, Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart and Sarah Jane Smith. And if you haven't, where've you been?!? Chima, Back to the Future, Lord of the Rings, Portal, Scooby Doo and Midway Arcade: yes. Wizard of Oz: No. Jurassic World, Simpsons, Doctor Who: definitely not. In fact, it's crazy enough we're not getting any more Simpsons Dimensions sets without there being no more Doctor Who or Jurassic Park/World either. I don't know how you could possibly say Doctor Who has 'done as much as it can do at this point'. The possibilities are endless; there's lots more iconic characters to be released. LEGO have only scratched the surface and if they don't release any more, I'm going to demand a refund from LEGO. -
Highlights how cool it is now that there are minifigures of Peter Capaldi and Matt Smith.

This is why I say Doctor Who though because there's plenty of characters they could do that would maintain the popularity of future Dimensions sets. Off the top of my head: Missy Clara Zygon Auton Strax/Sontaran Silurian/Vastra Jenny Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart Captain Jack Harkness Sarah Jane Smith -

Nobody's going to buy any characters beyond Doc Brown or Marty McFly for Back to the Future. Ghostbusters could possibly help keep the game alive. Portal won't. -

But that's because nobody cares about The Legends of Chima and Lord of the Rings isn't that big a deal considering there's already LEGO games based on it. So long as LEGO keep releasing more Doctor Who Dimensions sets and they keep selling well, the game will be fine. -

Plus Disney Infinity restricts you on combining franchises together. Half agree. I definitely think LEGO need to lower their prices (especially on the fun packs) but I don't think it'll be the shortest-lived Traveller's Tales LEGO game so long as they keep producing Doctor Who Dimensions sets for it. -

LEGODalekbuster523 replied to legosamsonite's topic in LEGO Licensed
Disagree completely. If Disney do it right, they'll have Chris Pratt as another long-lost son of Indiana Jones who takes on Indiana's name as a title when his father is dying. -

Better tags anyway because it makes it clearer what the set is based on. -
Wasn't that only an estimated end rather than a definite one? Regardless, I'll be shocked if a Simpsons Movie sequel doesn't come out at some point. They're probably just waiting for the best idea - and that's always the best way.

They would say that because they likely wouldn't be able to confirm any future Doctor Who sets yet. Besides, they'll obviously be more Dimensions sets given how successful the level pack and Ideas set were (unless you believe LEGO is full of a bunch of dumb pudding brains).- 4,155 replies

Worst movie: Alvin and the Chipmunks. You know a movie is bad when you want to assassinate the main characters. Worst song: Anything by One Direction but probably mainly 'Best Song Ever'. It's incredibly cheesy. Worst game: Legoland. It's not even bearable; the narration is by extremely kiddy Cbeebies presenter Mr Tumble, the game is dull to play and there's no sense of achievement.
