  1. Lmao anyone else getting an offer in the "frequently bought together" that includes the smaller brick built version, bundled together for LESS than the larger version alone?
  2. I'm gonna buck the trend here and say mate, charge what you feel comfortable charging, your model looks awesome and making instructions takes time and effort. If I had the set I'd buy the instructions
  3. Lmao, Lego is so doomed in the next 10-20 years. You just can't compete with China - it's crazy how much more is on offer with this set compared to the UCS cars...
  4. 42100 had a pretty decent mix of speed and power though, even if not mechanically authentic
  5. Don't do this to me baby How about motorized pneumatics a la 42043? I'd imagine that should free up space a fair bit maybe? Forgive me I'm an idiot, I forgot we don't have XL pneumatic cylinders
  6. What's the point of removing the battery if you can only recharge it via the hub? Is it in case the battery dies so that you can get a replacement?
  7. Just found information from Alex Nune's review on YouTube about the final set weight: ~2.36kg with six AA batteries, so about 2.13kg empty. From memory, 42100 was almost 6.5kg.
  8. I think that reinforcing the lower half of the bottom boom will help with torsional rigidity quite a bit, since that's where the shaft is located. Alternatively, is there a way to speed up the shaft and then slow it down at the LA? That would reduce the torque along its length
  9. Difference is that a mobile crane can have slow functions, whereas an excavator kinda can't
  10. Can't wait for this to become a thread filled with mod suggestions because nobody actually bought this set I'll start off! 1. Two L motors + independently driven tracks and motorized slewing, plus a distribution gearbox that allows multiple boom functions at once (or at least add more levers to the selector shaft) 2. Alternatively, replacement of the LAs with a pneumatic system (I assume the travel isn't high enough on the long cylinders, so perhaps you'd connect a long and short cylinder in tandem/series?)
  11. Don't knock it till you try it, they're a pretty tasty snack
  12. I was under the impression that the screws were required by EU law
  13. Neither, but it's such a flop of a way to do it lmao. This could've very easily been a motorized pneumatic set with independently driven tracks, two motors instead of one to double power, and it still would've been too expensive. I wonder what happened internally that they never reassessed the RRP? Just for comparison, it's got over 400 fewer parts than the 42043 Arocs, and mind you, the Arocs had a lot of expensive parts - springs, a whole pneumatics set, linear actuators, new gear racks, etc etc.). Yet adjusting for Euro inflation, the Arocs would be around €260 today vs its €200 release in 2015. This thing's €400 and the only expensive parts are linear actuators and a new bucket. Where does a 54% price hike come? Both the Arocs and this are licensed.
  14. I can attest to the last one - us Aussies just had our first orbital launch. It lasted for about 14 seconds
  15. I mean in the sense that 42006 was also an excavator with functions only in the top half
  16. Looks awesome, love the functions. Quite a spindly arm though, it almost keels over in the video . Would any reinforcement near the bottom half of the lower boom work to stiffen it? I don't imagine that'd require much additional leverage for the actuator to lift
  17. 100% Lego tarted up 42006 and thought we wouldn't notice lmao
  18. NASA SLS in Technic? Wouldn't have thought rockets translate well into Technic, on account of them not having ANY functions to begin with
  19. This isn't a buy ever set to be honest. It's a textbook example of a set that's unnecessarily big for how few functions it has
  20. > Dancing fun > Looks inside > Depressed Minion I love it
  21. Relax, you can change the audio track in the video settings down bottom right
  22. Oh yeah it's not been around for 17 years. I think they switched over to tan in 2008
