LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
Junior Shark replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The Star Wars OT is a story of redemption from evil, of moral relativity, of love, and of the struggle between the id and the ego. Ever read Joseph Campbell's Hero With a Thousand Faces? No? Star Trek, meanwhile is a "laser show fantasy" repository of cheesy acting (Khaaaaaaaaan!). Also, your insistence that everything "newer" in Star Wars is better is, frankly, naive. Star Wars has a nearly forty-year legacy, and to discount all but the most recent iterations of said legacy is akin to shooting yourself in the foot. Sorry for the rant. Back on topic, when I look at the Rebels Stormtroopers I can't help but think of a droopy mustachio. The mouth curve is even more pronounced on the minifigures than it is on the show, but c'est la vie. As someone who recognizes the differences between the OT and Rebels versions, I understand both sides of the discussion, but ultimately both versions look better than my fifteen-year-old Stormie minifigures, so I'll take both. But someday, TLG will have to pay for withholding the OT goodness from us! -
What was your first lego set?
Junior Shark replied to Chilly_Productions's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The OG X-Wing: 7140. Still built, still one of my favorites. I have a distinct memory of building it while watching ANH for the first time. I finished the set just in time to swoosh it to the attack on the Death star. -
LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
Junior Shark replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Not to derail the thread, but I struggle to see how what is inherently a kids' show can have "alot more content" than three movies with deep emotional and political themes. However, I will admit that Rebels does have "more content", if only as a means to keep kids entertained with a new, exciting, and different adventure every week. But in terms of meaning and depth, the three OT movies have "more". (I say all this as a fan of Rebels). Back on track, I wouldn't discount the possibility of a TFA A-Wing just yet. -
Dang! I was thinking of doing this! Just awesome.

Junior Shark replied to ArchieNov's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Hey, don't sell yourself short! This mod is actually really awesome and effective at bringing a correct sense of scale to the model. Brilliant! -
[SoNE Freebuild X.1] Escaping Corellia (part one)

Nifty speeder! Also, very clever with the anti-stud detailing on the wall. -
The Millennium Falcon colour thread (White, Grey or Blue!)
Junior Shark replied to appiah4's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Gray gets my vote when it comes to the color of the Millennium Falcon, but this thread gets my vote when it comes to most ridiculous, superfluous discussion ever. I kid, i kid. But seriously, I don't think that any amount of whining on here can supersede what the professionals over at TLG (in conjunction with Lucasfilm) have already decided: the MF is gray!- 125 replies

That's sweet!

Soooo much better! The difference between the wings was what I first noticed when the images were released. It's stopped me from picking up the set at this point, but now I just might and do your mod on it! So cool!

Nice mod!

Rebels: The Ghost & Phantom [75053 Redesign]
Junior Shark replied to MrLee's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Interesting! Your decision to make the Phantom accurate to the Ghost is opposite to what I've seen a lot of other people do, that is, make the Ghost accurate to the Phantom. Good job! -
I only loved this set after I had built it. The biggest incentive for me to get it was the figures, and I'll tell you, they don't disappoint!

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors

I agree with you on the blue X-Wing bit. That's about as safe as Lego could play it. However, I am still holding out hope for a TFA Y-Wing/A-Wing/B-Wing, and a Microfighter would be the perfect place to have one of those. -
Great. Another reason for me to run out and grab 75101. This is so great, man! Have you considered swapping out the gray for white?

I especially dig that Imperial version of the walker! BTW, dreams are a normal part of the AFOL conversion process

I love this. So much. Everything about is 100% USDA certified Awesome.

Hmmmm.... Some sort of Baron? À la Baron Rudor and Baron Fel?

So cool! I didn't get the reference to Dr Aphra at first, but after you mentioned it, I totally see it! Keep churning out these totally original Star Wars ships!

[MOC] TIE Advanced X1 TIE/X1 <+> Darth Vader's TIE
Junior Shark replied to MikeMo's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I love this! But then again, I'm a sucker for anything TIE. Those new canopy pieces really facilitate better-looking TIEs. Can't wait for someone to make a bomber with 'em. Overall, an out of the ballpark homerun! -
This is hilariously awesome! I actually really love the TIE. It's cool to see a TIE variant that has a pretty unique purpose.
