  1. I would agree with everyone. Nice job on the review *y* . The two IR sets made me concerned though. I am concerned that TLC will fade out the 9V system and bring in this system. I will be very >:-( if they do. I don't understand why TLC didn't research more into using both technologies together. Some how create a system similar to the model railroad industry. This industry uses both technologies together. I really think that if TLC could combine both, the train system would be a huge success for them. More people would look at it as a hobby, not a toy. I hope they have been doing research for 2007 or 2008. Maybe if enough of us mention it to them, they might look into it. I really hope they do not discontinue the 9V line.
  2. I would like to say VERY WELL DONE. Your model looks very cool. :-)
  3. I would like to send you a congrats on your wedding. I hope your bride-to-be will let you have your Lego cake topper. Very unique and creative. Good luck and best wishes. :-)
  4. Welcome Metroid. Glad you have joined our group. Here, we all are legoaholics. Have fun and model on.
  5. I would definitly agree. These MOCboxes are very creative. They all look really cool. What a way to use the Jack Stone parts. Maybe someone from the Lego company will see these and you could be given some sort of payment for the idea. That would be really *sweet* . Very unique, model on.
  6. I want to comment on the quote Phoinix made about the size of the houses. I want to say that the size of the house in this set are similar to the houses in the US. Homes here are BIG. We definitly build structures as if land is not an issue. But as we are building these large structures, our towns are beginning to blend together. Our green spaces are shrinking. What I do see happening is very :-(. I would have to say when I bought this set, I saw nothing out of the ordinary about it. Only because I am used to seeing homes this size. I would comment that the European size house looked very small. But that is because I am not used to them. Both your pics looked good. I thought they both were very well done. I also have noticed the minifigs are a scale of their own. I have been able to make vehicles that are 6-wide and fit 2 figs side-by-side. I plan to figure out buildings next. They look good, model on.
  7. I definitly can't wait to this model myself. 1m equals 39.37 inches for us American members. I would say that is a *sweet* height. I think this will definitly :'-) really cool. I would also think this would look good with the mini-fig scale too. I also think that if this set is brick, that would be cool, but if the set is Technic, this would look cool too. At least the Technic parts would give the model that "steel" look, if the set is dark grey. I am glad to see the Lego Company making these kind of sets. I hope they keep this up. It would be cool if they make "Big Ben", the "Leaning Tower" and the many other structural marvels of the world. This even includes bridges (Golden Gate). I can't wait.
  8. I am sure all the sets mentioned have had pics up on EB, but the Sith is a new image to me. The only image I have seen of the MTT has been from the commercial that has been mentioned. The image here showed the set as a whole. You can never tell from the commercials what is exactly in the box. I think the images here were of better detail. It was great to see them. I definitly liked the TIE Crawler. That set looks *sweet* .
  9. I am a fan of Doctor Who myself. A station here in the US called PBS used to air them. But they stopped about 4 years ago. The episodes I watched were the ones from the 1970's and 1980's. I have been able to catch the episodes from 2005 on cable. Those were cool episodes as well. I would say the episode that really stands out to me from '05 was the WWII episode. I found this one to be the creepiest, but really facinating. I hope I will be able to catch the newer episodes soon.
  10. My suggestion is to look through model railroader magazines. I have a collection of them just for this reason. I was using ideas from these for a basement layout I was designing before I had to move. These types of magazines come in handy. Even though they show layouts of smaller proportions, you can still use them for ideas. They also show pictures of special tables called benchwork. You might be able to get an idea of how to construct benchwork that you can add to when able. Take a look, they just might be beneficial. Plus they also come in handy for builing ideas and vehicle ideas. Not to mention railcar & locomotive ideas (if your also into trains). Good luck and have fun.
  11. I would have to say that I *wub* these new sets too. Being a town/train collector, these trucks look really cool. I am so *sweet* to see the Lego Co. finally make models that look realistic. I have thought the 4-wide looked too small. But now with 6-wide, the trash truck looks like a real truck. The 8-wide dump truck is a liitle too wide, but I plan to modify it to the 6-wide. That should look more realistic. Now all Lego needs to do is work on the train sets. I have seen many pictures of 8-wide locomotives and railcars and I built some models of my own using this style. I would have to say, 8-wide locos with 6-wide trucks looks very realistic. I was hesitant at first on this type of scale, but after building my model, I could see what the other modelers saw. This is a good combo. :-)
  12. I definitly agree that the new MTT looks really cool. I thought the best part was the knob on the side of the vehicle that you turn to roll the troops out :'-). I can't wait to see how Lego built this mechanism. I thought the commercial was the best I have seen as well. I can't wait to see this on TV in the US.
  13. I would definitly agree with Grevious. I think the Lego Co. will produce certain models in duplicate. We all have seen them do this with the Star Wars sets. But as everything, time will tell.
  14. Welcome Mr. Hobbles. I am a town and train fan too. I have been collecting town sets for 21 years and 9V train sets since they came out. You will definitly find this hobby will be costly, but it is worth it. You are entering back into the collection at a good time. Lego is finally creating good town sets again. In the late '90s, Lego created some town sets that were very cheap looking. The vehicles had no doors and bricks with printed headlights. I personally thought these were :-( . I am glad to see the company is back to their roots. The vehicles look great and the buildings are starting to look like buildings again *y* . Lego has been doing a good job with the trains though. The only train set I thought looked :-( was the train station in 1999. This station was small and cheap looking. But you will find things are getting :'-) . Good luck on your future projects and a quick reminder. You can always use the SW and Castle sets as parts. I do.
  15. I would have to say that I *wub* this set too. I am glad to see the Lego company is finally creating a "Creator" type set for the train community. My guess is Lego will release a "Railcar" set next. If they do I can't wait to see what that looks like. I am a firm believer that if Lego can keep creating sets like this, they could definitly have a place in the model railroader community. Lego, keep up the good work. *y*
  16. Brainbox, I really liked your Doctor Who models. I am a fan of the show myself. Your models were very cool. You did a great job at replicating them. Your life-size model of the Doctor's laser device was very well done too. I definitly think this would make a cool theme. If this became available through Lego, I would definitly buy them. Have you ever sent this idea to the Lego Company? What did they say?
  17. Very well done 007. Your model is a great replica. I also would like to add that your pictures have given me some ideas of my own. Using the hinge on the landing gear has given me another concept to pursue for my own models. Thank you for the idea. I did not think of that before. Again your model is great.
  18. This new set is awesome. This will make a great addition to any City or Town. I can't wait to see this set available in the United States.
  19. I would have to agree with member blueandwhite. A City or Town really needs all of these. But the new fire truck that is with the new station looks really cool with the new hydraulic mechanism Lego finally added. I have been wondering when Lego was going to make such a piece. I want to see Lego take that new hydraulic and create new construction equipment. There are many uses for that new piece.
  20. My opinion on the 9V System is if the Lego Company is eliminating this theme, this would be a big mistake for the company. I feel if Lego could get into the Model Railroading community, they would have a huge success. The fun of model railroading is building a layout. But with Lego products, you get to design and build everything for the layout. I think this is the coolest way to model railroad. Hopefully Lego will research this avenue and think more about the market for the 9V System.
