  3. Ahah! I knew they couldn't stop at 5!! There are so many more great ideas/characters that so perfectly fit the collectible minifigs format! Not to mention a few sub themes in the collectible minifigs to be completed... Yay for the news!! Thanks for sharing!
  4. Just received my sumo wrestler!! Thanks again for the raffle!
  5. Woohoo! I would have voted no matter the stakes but thank you so much for giving even not so skilled builders a chance to win something with this raffle I was blown away by the quality of MOCs submitted for the contest and I am eager to see the great new MOCs people will come up with for series 4, 5 and hopefully beyond! Again thanks and congrats to all the winners!
  6. Apologies for the off toic remark but actually I think the new series 5 mold is of an ape not a monkey (most likely a baby gorilla, the zookeeper then meant as Jane Goodall figure )
  7. Even though there's been a few talks about LEGO stopping the collectors minifigures series after series 5, I really hope they don't! As others have pointed out, this has been quite a huge success for them, so there's a good incentive to keep it going, and I'm hopeful they will. Moreover I would feel a bit of a let down if these series ended without completing some of the "sub-themes" that have emerged. I realize the completedness of a sub-themes is a somewhat of a personal assessment which may vary for fan to fan and that some people will always want more (and I may be part of that last bunch ), but ending the collectors minifigures without a Creature from the Black Lagoon joining the monsters gang? Without a Dr Fu Manchu joining the asian warriors crowd? Common TLG, we're counting on you! Anyways, as the hunt for series 4 minifigures has started for me, I again found myself daydreaming about the minifigs I'd like to see in upcoming series... The following few figs are not exactly original ideas, and have already been suggested by others, but I wanted to offer my own little twist on them, since with all the sport figs we got we're gonna need to staff up the stadiums : Name: Sports Fan (originally from Klaus-Dieter) Gender: N/A Headgear: a cap or, for the packers fan look, a cheesehead hat Face: screaming with face painted to match team colors Torso: team logo Legs: matching the team's color Accessories: a giant foam finger Name: Sports Mascot (originally from Mr. Elijah Timms) Gender: N/A Headgear: Bear, Tiger or Cougar mask Face: sweaty like the gorilla suit guy Torso: team jersey Legs: furry legs matching the color of the mask Accessories: paws like gloves that fits the hands like the cheerleader's pom poms These are hopefully originals, I've followed this whole thread and don't remember seeing these but since it's been awhile, I might just have forgot about it, so apologies in advance if I'm just re-hashing old ideas... Name: Candy stand clerk Gender: male Headgear: white paper cap (generic fast food employee hat) Face: pimples Torso: white shirt with red and white vertical stripes apron and red bowtie Legs: black Accessories: a bag pr bucket of popcorn (with red and white vertical stripes as well) Name: Sleepwalker Gender: N/A Headgear: light blue night cap Face: sleeping Torso: light blue pajamas Legs: light blue Accessories: maybe a small alarm clock Name: Blind Gender: male Headgear: whatever Face: sunglasses, serious Torso: whatever Legs: whatever Accessories: white cane and a guide dog with proper harness Name: Prisoner Gender: male Headgear: black and white striped cap Face: 5 o clock shadow, sad Torso: horizontal black and white stripes with prisoner tag number in the middle Legs: horizontal black and white stripes, black feet Accessories: ball and chain, recolor of the rock pick with silver pick and brown handle Name: Cyclop giant Gender: male Headgear: a frontal horn Face: one big eye in the middle Torso: muscular beast like chest Legs: brown giant legs (aka woody style long legs) Accessories: spiked club or mace Name: Mariachi (a real one, the series 2 maraca man is more of a cross with a bandito) Gender: male Headgear: black sombrero with gold embroidery on trim Face: with mustache, singing Torso: black mariachi vest with gold embroidery, white shirt underneath and loose red bowtie Legs: black pants with gold embroidery and red sash Accessories: acoustic guitar Name: Sacagawea Gender: female Headgear: long black braids Face: smiling, loving Torso: native american dress Legs: black native american dress Accessories: new scarf like backpack and infant Name: Anatomy Model (inspired by the works of Jason Freeny and the Bodies exhibit, this one is a bit wacky and maybe to gory for LEGO, and since the exhibit itself was controversial I doubt it will happen, but would be pretty cool IMHO) Gender: N/A Headgear: none Face: apparent eye balls, face muscles Torso: torso muscles (ideally front and back) Legs: legs muscles Accessories: none
  8. The figs have reached my corner of the states as I found a box at the Redwood City, CA TRU on my way back from work tonight. It wasn't there when I stopped there yesterday but still, by the time I got there, it had been picked clean of mad scientists, soccer players, hazmat suits and wolfmen... I picked one each of the remaining 12, there was little less than half a box when I left. For the bags where dots where visible the cheat sheet matched what I got when opening the bags, however a few bags had no visible dots... Good luck hunting everyone!

  11. Waiting for series 4...

  12. If it helps I've always understood LEGO's policy on weapons not to be about the amount violence or pain carried by the weapons itself but more about whether one weapon relates to modern (as it current, or recent enough) conflicts. Tanks definitely fit that description. There are little conflicts that I know of going on today being fought with swords, six shooters, etc. Futuritic or fantasy looking weapons usually get a pass to as they can't be easily associated to any recent or on going wars. I don't think there's much hypocrisy in that, they just don't want to offend part of their customer base by risking appearing on one side or another of a conflict.
  13. one word: *drool* Thanks for the very detailed review!
  14. I was thinking maybe what they could do is make a combat medic, what I had in mind was basically a recolor or the toystory toy soldier in dark green or tan with a red cross on the helmet and a brown suitcase with a red cross on the side as medkit. I though this could give us a nice official soldier without being particularly violent nor depicting an obvious faction. That said I just saw yesterday that not only some people had a similar idea, they had already executed it impressively well: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=52370
  15. 44 figs impatient to meet the 4*4 new figs from series 4 The minifigures from series 1,2,3 are so excited by the arrival of 16 new friends that they decided to make a huge minifig-chain sign to mark the occasion. Problem is, only 44 figures came... Who are the 4 so jealous of the new competition, they didn't even show up?
  16. I would be fine with the alternate accessory you suggest, plus I don't mind sharing the credits on this one if it ever materialize, so hopefully no hard feelings. I guess all the time spent at one's local LEGO Store frantically sorting through those boxes, holding a cheatsheet on one hand, feeling through a bag in the other, makes ones really appreciate the patience and friendliness of the LEGO Store employees They more than deserve being to be immortalized in minifig fomat!
  17. Thanks Now I'm only hoping that LEGO doesn't stop at 5 and signs off on another full year of Collectible Minifigs so that some of these come may true in series 6, 7, 8
  18. I've been collecting a few more ideas in my heads over the past few weeks, I thought I would share them (properly formatting them this time) so here they are: The following 2 suggestions are inspired by classic fables and fairytales (I'm still waiting for an actual fairy :P) Name: pied piper Gender: male Headgear: hat, same as forestman from series 1 but red with a big green plume Face: o shaped mouth as in playing the flute Torso: very colorful, maybe similar to the kingdom's juggler but in red and yellow Legs: one leg of each of the main color present on the torso Accessories: a green cape, a piper flute and a rat Name: little red riding hood Gender: female Headgear: hood, like the one on Lego Obi-Wan Kenobi but in red Face: cheerful Torso: white corset Legs: yellow, with red fabric skirt Accessories: short red cape and picnic basket After the talk we had on Lego minifig parity I was thinking it would be nice to get a female warrior, the minifig series brought us a great deal of very nice warriors but so far it's a definitely a boys club. Several people have already suggested an Amazon Warrior and I definitely second that, but I would also like to see the following: Name: female knight (ala Joan of Arc) Gender: female Headgear: short hair Face: fiesty Torso: female armure, silver Legs: sliver Accessories: sword The following figs are part of an idea I had for sub theme around US icons that was partly inspired by Dunjohn's statue of liberty suggestion Name: uncle sam Gender: male Headgear: top hat with vertical red and white stripes and blue ribbon with white stars at the bottom Face: serious, white eyebrows and white goatee beard Torso: white shirt, blue jacket and red bowtie Legs: vertical red and white stripes Accessories: a dollar bill Name: rosie the riveter Gender: female Headgear: red and white dot scarf hat (knot in front) on black hair Face: serious Torso: blue jean shirt Legs: blue jeans Accessories: a pneumatic rivet hammer and a classic metallic lunch box Name: park ranger Gender: male Headgear: campaign hat in tan Face: smiling Torso: tan shirt with short black tie and park badge of the left arm Legs: dark green Accessories: binoculars and 2x2 tile with printed terrain map Name: hollywood heyday actress Gender: female Headgear: blonde pin-curls hairdo (ala marylin monroe) Face: sensual, bright red lips and beauty mark Torso: white dress (see marilyn famous wind blowing picture) Legs: white dress (see marilyn famous wind blowing picture) Accessories: either a gem (diamonds are a girls best friend) or golden trophy from the series 2 karate master (as an oscar) or a printed 2x2 round tile printed to look like a movie reel Name: greaser Gender: male Headgear: oversized pompadour/ducktail hair (black) Face: smirk Torso: black leather jacket open with white shirt Legs: black Accessories: comb Name: superhero Gender: male or female Headgear: none if male, long blonde hair if female Face: red eyemask, smiling Torso: red with a gold lego brick logo in the center Legs: red legs with gold waist Accessories: long gold cape Name: daredevil (ala evel knievel) Gender: male Headgear: white open face helmet (aka 3/4 helmet) with blue ribbon with stars Face: crazy Torso: white, slightly ajar top with same blue ribbon with stars Legs: white Accessories: 2 color cape, white on the outside, red on the inside Finally these are more random ideas that I put down as they popped into my mind: Name: beauty queen/pageant Gender: female Headgear: ponytail with tiara Face: big smile showing teeth Torso: corset with miss ribbon on top Legs: yellow legs, waist matching corset color Accessories: a flower bouquet Name: Lego store clerk Gender: female (but could be male too I guess) Headgear: straight black hair Face: smiling Torso: black shirt and yellow apron with Lego logo on it Legs: tan pants Accessories: yellow shopping bag with Lego logo Name: party animal Gender: female (but could be male too I guess) Headgear: multicolored conical party hat Face: ecstatic Torso: any Legs: any Accessories: balloon Name: brazilian carnival dancer Gender: female Headgear: huge gold and green feather with black hair underneath Face: smiling with makeup Torso: fancy necklace, green and gold bikini top, abs Legs: yellow legs, green waist/bikini bottom Accessories: green and yellow feather wings (fits around the neck like the classic plastic cape) Name: valentine date Gender: male Headgear: clark gable hair Face: in love Torso: suit Legs: black Accessories: rose I'm also putting my vote behind the multiple request for a scot/bagpipe player and for a counter part to the series 1 nurse, ideally even we would need 3 counter parts : a surgeon and 2 patients, one in wheelchair and one in crutches (forearm crutches would fit lego minifig hands perfectly), one of the patient could also have a open face helmet fully printed with bandages as if he hurt his head badly.
  19. Damned!!! Reading your post I was expecting to be credited for this one but between the day I voiced my wish in another thread and the day I actually posted all my suggestion to the embassy, Lord Embo came in with a similar suggestion :( Anyways, thanks for compiling this it's a very nice feeling to know that we're heard!
  20. Yes, thanks! The judge is definitely more grad student. I didn't see any female traveler... Is she the pink fig with pink boombox which looks like a gym trainer or something? A bit disappointing but 4 female figs in one series is better than usual.
  21. Actually I think he got confused between 'dwarf' and 'gnome' as indeed series 4 as a garden gnome that nothing to do with the viking whatsoever... :)
  22. This sounds a LOT more plausible than the previously posted rumor, and it gets me so anxious to see a snapshot of those additionnal minifigs!!! I was actually thinking of adding an eskimo to the list of collectible minifig suggestions, I guess I don't have to anymore :P Given TLC usual usual restraint regarding explicit violence, I would be really surprised if "cannibal" was the actual name of the what we assumed was a cave woman... The judge sounds like a must have if wearing the proper wig and a gavel would be a nice new piece. The mobster can be totally epic. It woud be quite shocking to see an official lego machine gun though... If properly done I can also see myself buying a quite a few little apes!. The female figure with suitcase is somewhat mysterious... I wonder if she's more of a traveler or a business woman.
  23. Funny you would say that, I was just thinking this morning that it could have been nice if they made the collectors minifigs stand match each series color (yellow for series 1, blue for series 2,etc...) rather that make them all black.
  24. Yes, I was thinking female as well. I am not sure how they would pull off the blindfold either, if somehow it could fully be part of the hairpiece and we could have 2 hairpiece (one with blindfold, one without, just like the magician has both hair and hat) that would be pretty neat. Otherwise it could be partlty printed on the hair partly printed on the face, less convenient since one couldn't be used without the other...
  25. I agree with you on that one, especially would like to see a surgeon, but as others have pointed out some of your other suggestions seem less critical as they can easily be obtained by buying multiples of the same figs and then swapping parts. Also as far as I was concerned series 3 snowboarder was already the counterpart of series 2 skier. I won't speculate on the series that are not out yet (ie 4 and 5) but for the ones already out the counterparts I am expecting the most are: - female elf, we need an woman haircut with elf ears. - american indian women - magician assistant (a blindfolded minifig :P) The cave women was high on my list too but now we know it's coming \o/
